Mike Tucker & his team's model work is always fantastic, look at all the Red Dwarf model shots from the early years and more recently.
If the McCoy seasons had more stories(6-7/20 some episodes). We would have got to see more of his magic. Especially the proposed Tardis control room.
IMAGINE... Seeing a scene with new Daleks on a conveyor belt! Like strong buff but elegant (not that they have a concept of that) but seeing badass looking daleks on a conveyor belt again would be awesome!!!
Squicx Seeing the New Series Time War Daleks or New Paradigm Daleks on a conveyor belt would be awesome and terrifying.

The Daleks in Planet Of The Daleks were done in miniature for the ice cave scenes at a distance, and the actual props for the close ups.
Mike Tucker! The Doctor Who special effects artist of the 80’s!
It took me forever to figure out the man's name REALLY IS Mike Tucker. I thought it was a joke for years, since Mike Tucker is the name of the character Terry Molloy (Davros) plays in The Archers.
The Herts Plastic Moulders Dalek. In 1966, I was three. I had a silver Dalek and a Mechanoid. They lasted for several years, and were mainly played with in the garden.

I was just watching the featurette on my Blu-ray, couldn't be fascinated by the recreation of a classic shot - right here in my hometown, Ealing. Many thanks to Mike Tucker, Charles Norton, and everyone involved with the production.

It is hard to stomach at first but once you get used to it it’s a lot better than new who. Sure effects are a bit naff but storytelling and world building is amazing and there’s something so much more inviting about classic
It’s called classic who you nasty young man
A few good stories to get you started:
- An Unearthly Child
- The Gunfighters
- Genesis of the Daleks
- Earthshock
- Remembrance of the Daleks
Logan Wilton another good one to start with is the sontaran experiment. As it’s only a 2 parter it’s the same length as a new who episode, so it’s probably the best story in classic to adjust to the classic style :)
@@matthewduncan8523 Why start with a filler? If you don't want to go through missing episodes, start with Spearhead From Space or Robot.
The budget limitations always made the production team do novel and inventive things on old Who. Doesn't matter if it looked wonky, you could always see the creativity behind the ideas and to me that's way more charming than just rendering things on a computer for several weeks
They could make a room painted black with a single bare lightbulb hanging high up look scary. And they did, from the original reruns I watched as a small child in the 80's on PBS every Sunday night.

They sometimes use the new radio controlled daleks in the same way in the new series.

Next year, if we’re lucky. All depends on when filming for Series 13 starts, as it takes around 9 months.

It would be cool if they made a shot for shot remake of the original story with lookalike actors. With today’s technology and deepfaking we could have something even closer to the original.

I’m not really into bts on fx sequences (yawn) so put this on as background while I made myself a cup of tea. I was still there as the credits rolled and the tea forgotten about. Fascinating.
So you guys use your own toys to make effects?
In the surviving footage of evil if the daleks part 7 they use horrible dalek toys with terrible domes. It would of been way better if they used these
