Thanks Shady and editor/s. Your team has been instrumental to my knowledgebase of strategies. I still have questions. When I see certain heroes being rated A tier for a game, then a few games later that same hero is rated C tier or lower, I realize I have a huge blind spot. I understand Brann being fantastic in ele/murloc/dragon lobbies, but heroes like Varden, Rat King and some others, I have no real idea how the tribes contribute to their ranking. Is there a chance you might elucidate us with a guide pertaining to this facet?
@awesomedayz3465 Good rule of thumb. Though that doesn't really help me figure out why I should pick Varden when he is B tier. I often pick a hero like that and lose not knowing why it was so highly rated.
I can't say I'm positive but if I had to guess for Varden it probably has to do with what cards on higher tiers for you to hit with your hero power. For example I imagine she'd be higher rated with Quills, Mechs, and Murlocs in due to those tribes having those money/value generating 4 drops. And on top of that some tribes don't really have great cards on higher tiers like beasts for example your only interested in Titus and the one 6/6 beetle card and would likely never go to 6 because what's a Guldrin going to really do for you in most beast cases. I imagine you know some of the obvious ones like Teron is better in beast/undead lobbies. Or Kurtrus in pirate, ele, and Murlocs because they have cards that you cycle better. Rat King is probably harder but if I had to guess he's probably just higher rated with the better tribes in the game right now like ele or in lobbies that have synergetic tribes since his hero power lets him get a specific minion from a tribe. Granted you'll have misses but it's far more honed in then rolling might be. Overall I would just consider what the hero power does and try and think of how does it benefit me based on what tribes are in.

I am f2p. When I get a choice between some mediocre to bad heroes, I just go for armor.
