    An added bonus of the wood block idea is that one could make their own adapter plate to accept all of the Hoss attachments. Or even attach an adapter rod to accept the valley oak hilling attachment. Thank you so much for the idea.

    The wheel hoe is a great idea.
    I have the Hoss double wheel.
    For planting / making hills and weed control.

    I hope to find one of these someday, unfortunately I am several years too late. Thank you for the instructions.

    Can also use the one inch wide banding material. Will not last as long but easy to make.

    I'm at the stage of my life (34) where I want to have more work to do that keeps me at home. I've been thinking of things to make and sell around here (Canada, BC).

      Opportunity is knocking. Make and sell wheel hoes. Great idea!

    "Never flat" stroller wheels might be a good replacement for the wheel as well

    can you give me an estimate of the thickness of the handle spreader washer stack, please?
    Thanks.

    I’ve seen people make them out of a bicycle wheel and front fork.

    Planet whiz bang is an obvious tribute to the most famous wheel hoe. FYI planet junior is stenciled on the bottom of your Flexible Flyer sled. Another fun metal and wood contraption. Maybe my wife’s scuffle hoe could use a wheel.

    Couldn't the spreader be a 1x2 screwed across the handles at the appropriate width? Would be easier than trying to cut a dowel.

    • @herrickkimball
      @herrickkimball  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Definitely easier. Not in keeping with the typical “style” but your idea will work just fine. 👍🏻

      @@herrickkimball since I’m constantly fatigued and overworked and money is tight, simple and cheap is best for me :) I like this video because I got several ideas how to make this with less hand crafting. The block of wood for the core, the Hoss stirrup, the Oregon wheel, pine handles, should be able to put one together fast without spending as much on a Hoss.

    I see that you are out of stock as of 9/2021, are you going to sell your parts kits again? I purchased your instructions but I'm not a machinist nor carpenter. I'm a 60 y/o, recent widow.

    • @herrickkimball
      @herrickkimball  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No plans to start selling the kits again. Wish I did for you. And I wish someone else would take the baton and run with it. Do you have a handy family member? Several people have given the plans to another person to make the wheel hoe for them.

      @@herrickkimball Thank you, you're very sweet, but no. My next-door neighbor, who is a master carpenter and handyman, also just passed away. My son is wonderful but not necessarily "handy". I'll try to figure it out. Are the actual metal parts available somewhere in the hardware stores or do they need to be created?

    • @herrickkimball
      @herrickkimball  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Mrs.T.Rusch25 The metal parts can be purchased, cut to length, from www.speedymetals.com The blade and bent arm that holds it can be purchased from the Amazon link I give in the discription to this video. There is a link there for the wheel too. You can buy a completed wheel hoe from HOSS tools: hosstools.com/product/hoss-wheel-hoe/

      Many people can make their own wheel hoe without buying a parts kit from me. That's the title of this video. "Make Your Own Whizbang Wheel Hoe." I sell plans and blades. Or the oscillating blade attachment can be purchased on Amazon. I get lots of photos from people who are making their own wheel hoe, as I show in this video. Thanks for the great question. 👍

      @@yargeroutdoors4225 Right. I no longer sell the kits. But I still sell the blades and specifications, which are available at that page link. The metal parts can be purchased from www.speedymetals.com/, or another similar seller. www.planetwhizbang.com/whizbangwheelhoe
