You scramble pretty damn well for your handicap. I'm sure you know that's why you made it to the final round. Good job, keep the short game sharp. Maybe try not going so far past parallel on the driver and keeping your club face square on the back swing. Keep working good job
Thanks, David! It's funny, I don't take too many lessons but when I do I always ask about my overswing. The three pros I've seen have been wary to tell me to change that - they always want to work on my flat takeaway first.
Plenty of people have a flat takeaway and are successful. Very few ever took it that far past parallel with their face toed down toward the ground at the top with good results. I'm an instructor getting PGA of america qualifications currently. Just something to think about, not random advice from a 30 handicap. And it's much easier to shorten the swing a little bit than to change the plane of your backswing completely. Good luck with whatever you do as long as the short game stays good you'll always be fine
My interpretation was that I couldn't move the debris as moving it would also have moved my ball. I'm not a rules expert so don't quote me on whether that's the correct rule interpretation.
