- Well we had fun on this transformation while it lasted. This guy was really mad at us for doing him a favor. His property had several city violations already meaning the city was going to cut it eventually and charge him. We have recently opened a P.O Box look down below for more info!

I'm old, and I've lived off-grid for 17 years in a very remote, rural location. I haven't been able to take trash to the dump since I paid a crook to fix my truck, but he took my money and ran after making my truck completely inoperable. It was running before he worked on it.
My ex left his junk "project" cars and trucks here when he left me for his coworker he swore he wasn't sleeping with. Technically true, as "sleeping" wasn't the issue.
I looked into having a dumpster brought here for me to fill with trash, but they want a minimum of $1200, I'm poor, on disability, and if I had that money I could hire a REAL mechanic to fix my truck!
I chuckled a little when the jerk mentioned "chivos". That is how I control brush and weeds on my property... I have a herd of the most darling goats who are weed-eaters who don't require gasoline or electricity!
Most of the videos on my channel are shorts of my "kids".

I do think that cities should have a procedure for landscape/video maker guys to get city permission (without it taking 6 months) to do this type service. It is risky to go on to private property, no matter how well intended. When you have some idiot slob like this guy to deal with, you definitely want to have the backing of city law enforcement.

Dang that guy was rude! He said he liked it that way...nah. I've got family in law enforcement and we pretty much agreed that there was something very shady going on here. My brothers and I love watching your videos as it reminds us of our dad who came from Mexico with nothing. Worked hard, got married and started a family. Bought a house quit his factory job and started his landscaping business. He grew it fairly large and had several crews by the time he retired. Next month will be 4 years of his passing. I miss working for my dad but time goes on and I see you two and I see the happy days my siblings and I had with him. Thank you.

How do you know what a normal reaction should be in this case? Maybe the property owner wanted his property to blend in with other trashy looking property around the neighborhood or to look worse than other property for some reason. Until you understand someone's motivation, you don't know whether their reaction was "normal." Jumping to conclusions seems to be the national sport. In my limited view, the property owner had a normal reaction to having his property trespassed and damaged. By the way, this seems like a scam or set-up video since they would have had to get permission to show the property owner. They all are probably actors. working from a script.

I think this guy has something to hide. Driving a fancy car but unable to get his place proper care and outside his fence it affected other people. Feel sorry you have this encounter such meanness but then there are mean people everywhere. You both are awesome. I've read all of the comments about what they thought about this guy. Both of you stumbling on something then that really struck home. Why else was he covering up his house with all of the sick foliage and all of the grass and leaves and garbage out in front of his house. There was a sidewalk there and that didn't allow people to walk all the more suspicious activity as far as I'm concerned. Maybe you can call up City violations and then they can check up on him a fine

My wife and I watch a lot of different mowing videos and we believe that ANYONE that refuses free lawn service is either refusing for this very reason of hiding something OR it’s also a possibility that a small minority may have promised a family member or friend that they would pay them to transform it, however I would say that scenario is probably far and few between!

A derelict house is the perfect place for stashing drugs. You guys almost got him busted. 😈
For future reference, Daniel, the public sidewalk is PUBLIC. Home owners do not own the sidewalk. The strip of ground between the sidewalk and the street is known as the "road verge." Home owners do not own that, either. Both are owned by the public, a.k.a. the city.
Most municipalities -- cities, towns, villages, etc. -- have ordinances (laws) that require the home owner to maintain these pieces of public property -- which is where most of the "fines" come into play -- but that DOES NOT give them ownership of the sidewalk, or verge. These ordinances may require them to do the watering, mowing, edging, trimming/pruning, weeding and snow shoveling of these areas, all of which is considered, under the law, to be "community service." But, it doesn't give them ownership.
So, you guys weren't actually "on his property" until you entered the gate. Just so you know, for the future.

That is what I thought. Seems like the city or country would keep the sidewalks done. I'll bet this jerk is not the property owner. Could be a squatter and up to no good.
As I mentioned, within the law, it is considered "community service" and IS required of all home owners. This is where the fines come in. Once it becomes "extreme," the city WILL send someone to do it . . . and then they will send the home owner a hefty bill. Any lawn care service will be much cheaper than the bill the city will send you. and then, you will STILL be required to pay the fines. Very expensive, indeed. Mwahahahahahaha!
Here in Central Iowa it's called either the car park or a nature strip. We do own it and have to keep it looking nice, and pay taxes on it, but the city likes to believe it belongs to them, lol. That said the sidewalk, while it is on our property is considered public right of way and must be kept up, including the removal of mud during floods, and snow and ice in the winter, and we're require to fix any damaged concrete.
@@kbaxterpackwood As I said, it is a matter for LOCAL authority. It's NOT a "state/county thing." So, it dpends upon your local city ordinance.
In my experience -- I'm pushing seventy -- most people pay no attention to local matters, a.k.a. "city hall." So you might want to check, occasionally. You never know when the law in your town might change. Maybe they didnt own it, but now they do. No idea. 🤷♂

Only a person of weak character would turn down help from others when they are so evidently in need of that help. The true measure of a man is seen when he can accept help with humility and grace. Not only is this homeowner lacking in both of those virtues but he is also very shelfish. Clearly he doesn't care about those that live around his mess.. Both of you are so incredibly dedicated to your work and I admire all of your videos. Thank you helping those that really apprecitate it.

That guy is doing something illegal on that property. Probably storing drugs or stolen goods. Glad you helped his yard look better anyway. You guys are so nice and you deserve respect!

It's tough when your kindness isn't met with the gratitude you might expect. I know how frustrating it can be, especially when you're simply trying to help out of the goodness of your heart. There's really no excuse for his attitude, especially since you were offering to help for free and it seemed like he wasn’t particularly concerned about his property anyway.
It’s bewildering why some people choose to be unkind without reason. But don’t let it dishearten you. The world needs more people like you who are willing to do good just because they can. It’s important to remember that goodness hasn't left our world, despite how things might seem sometimes.
Keep doing what you do best. Your efforts do make a difference, even if they aren't always acknowledged.
