    In this anime video essay I discuss an under appreciated Haikyuu!! character: Aran Ojiro. Aran is one of the top five aces in the nation, yet, gets only a little bit of development during his match at nationals. Here, I will discuss how Aran comments on the themes of Inarizaki's match through his understadning of emotion. Emotion is often disregard in sports but Aran shows that emotion is an essential tool that should be honed by all great players, the very thing Karasuno used to overcome a team that was seemingly more talented than them.

    If Kita is the mom of Inarizaki, then Aran is definitely the dad. Together they keep the team whole, grounded, and functioning at its highest level. I do agree that Aran is overshadowed by more powerful and "loud" characters like my no. 1 boy Atsumu but I don't think that those characters would shine as much without Aran. As always, love this video!! Happy Holidays, AniEssays!!

    I love Haikyuu, but every time you put out a new essay about a character, I feel my appreciation deepening even further. You really make me keep reliving my love for the show in new ways, thank you!

    another awesome analysis!!! i’ve been an athlete for just around 12-13 years now (just starting my freshman year of college track and field!), and the point about channeling your emotions correctly, not leaning too far to one end or the other, as well as finding consistent happiness is SOO important to staying motivated and truly appreciating your own hard work. i still struggle sometimes with looking too far ahead and feeling like nothing is ever enough for me (too much on the negative emotion side), so this was a nice reminder :)) whenever i got like this, one of my old coaches would stop giving me things to fix and instead tell me to do whatever makes me happy and have fun, since that’s what sports is about after all (and why i love hirugami) 🙂 that’s what i really love about how furudate does hinata’s character: he’s almost always pretty positive, but he has his moments (training camp arc, brazil, etc.), and sometimes this positivity gets the best of him (1st match against sejoh, kamomedai). looking forward to more content in 2025!!!! 💖💖

    This was actually amazing & more relevant to my life currently that I want to admit lol. This character is completely overshadowed & I honestly just forgot about him, but watching this analysis shows me just how much I didn't comprehend about this character & his contribution to his team & I appreciate you giving me more perspective on him. Amazing video!

    Hey video idea, you should do a "How/What Each Captain Changed Me/Taught Me" like the one you did for each of Haikyuus aces!

    never looked at aran as a top 5 ace tbh he character seemed bland to me except for his relationship with kita he was a good character and fit inarizaki very well and fulfilled his purpose

      Aran being a top 5 ace isn't really determined by how interesting his character is as much as his skill as a player in the Haikyuu universe. He has great power, jumping ability, and great passing technique, and if he wasn't as great of a player then Hinatas receive wouldn't have been as impactful.

      @erniesteele5130 well yeah but I don't think anyone saw aran as a top 5 ace after nationals
      And all am saying is that i never looked at him like i looked at sakusa or ushiwaka i looked at him as a character who fit inarizaki well

    • @aniessays
      @aniessays  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Agreed that post nationals there is a strong argument he isn’t top 5. Although we do see him as a major brand focus for the Japanese professional league post time skip. So he is still a top player!

    i suggest chapter 47 of "you and i are polar opposites" as a counter as i feel like the dude in it like a lot.
    not saying your wrong but wanted to point to a great chapter in a silly little manga that got very real for someone like me lmao

    Can you make one on Rintaro Suna or is he just too shallow to have a video made for him

    please dont use trash AI- interpolated footage. It looks horrible. 1:20 and forward as your channel name is on screen just looks atrocious. a channel called noodle has a great video on the topic.
