The fugue of this key is of course incredible, but I had always not been a fan of the prelude preceding it. This interpretation was the first time where I really feel like I could hear what Bach would have heard as he wrote and played it. Great job with this!

Interesting, especially the prelude preceding it was always one of my favorite pieces ever written by Bach, since the first time I heard it many years ago. It always felt, that it embodied the entire spirit of Bach in a special unusual way, it's very sweet and delicate.

@@8kw7mx9 i think the organ really helps bring that out. Passacaglia and fugue has always felt like a telepathically communicated venting of a whole life’s worth of drama, and this rendition of the prelude gave me a similar feeling
I think the notes just aren’t sustained long enough on a piano to really do justice. This why I’ve always liked Bach’s more aggressive piano works, that almost read like a “fuck you” piece

Yes! Fabulous to hear it on the orgue, especially the prelude works extremely well. In the stretto of the fugue there is too much sound mass to be able to hear and track all the lines, at least unless you know the piece well. Just a little more practise and esp. accuracy with the tempo in the fugue and this truly would be a great rendition. The ending is very very nice, a lot more sophisticated and exciting way to end this very exciting fugue than with full stops.

I wish Leopold Stokowski orchestrated this fugue. Just imagine the sound
