Really sorry about the late response, thanks for the kind words. I just hooked the camera up to Final Cut Pro via a firewire cable. I used FCP to digitally store all my tapes in lossless camera archive backups. HDV is a tricky format, however FCP did a great job deinterlacing it and doing a clean ProRes422 master export in 1080p. My master file is a Mov, the clip uploaded to TH-cam is the H264 copy.
The footage is just stunning! You are a wonderful filmographer! Did you do any type of de-interlacing before uploading the footage? When you say 'no corrections, just raw footage' how did you get the videos from your MiniDV cassette to your computer (firewire?), what software did you use and in what codec container did you upload these? MP4 or MOV? Appreciate any advice you can give me!? :)
