The Gospel is the Good News of Jesus Christ and the good news is that he wants a relationship with you. Our ultimate goal is to share with others this immeasurable love. And of course God has plans for each of us. His word says he has plans for us to have success and that we would prosper even as our soul prospers. Never met him but it sounds like he catered the cadence of his message to the audience-he used the bible to teach about how God created us to want a relationship with him.
This is not the Gospel. Everything is focused on material gain: making money, jobs, being famous. What if God has no big plans for you? What if God doesn't want you to have money? The cant assume to know these things. Jesus died so we can be forgiven of sin, not to get a Bentley. The Gospel is about escaping Gods wrath. This is a cool self-help speech but it's not Biblical preaching.
Jesus did teach in the synagogues but he's teaching to a new generation than Jesus did. He's reaching kids with the gospel let him preach how he feels. Jesus said if there with us then they're not against us leave them alone.
