This interview breaks my heart. He seemed so so sad. We know why.

Thanks for sharing. Good to hear John say he was no longer drinking and that it was only for a few years. Derryn Hinch was a very straight forward person/interviewer, who also was fond of the bottle at one time. 17 cities in 17 days! Oh John, too much.

I totally believe him that the drinking was only for a few years. In all his concert and interview footage, he didn't appear tipsy or drunk. Such a high energy level for his performances, in good voice and perfect pitch...if he did drink to excess it had to be not when he was on tour.

He never seemed to recover from his second divorce. He had a perfect life for awhile. In his autobiography he called it paradise at first. He seemed to boast proudly on his Christmas special when he introduced Cassy how she had to fly somewhere to do a movie. She was an actress and singer, so she understood his world. Beautiful and younger than him. A cute baby girl. To lose all that? I’m not pointing blame at either. So sad.
