  • It is the classic rock ‘n’ roll memoir of triumph, failure and drug addiction.
Aslan lead singer Christy Dignam has written a book about his drug addiction and its effect on his turbulent career.
After admitting to heroin addiction, Christy Dignam was sacked from the band. Five years later, Aslan were back with a drug-free Christy Dignam again taking centre stage. He has now documented the story to set the record straight in his book ‘This is... Christy Dignam’.
Aslan guitarist Billy McGuinness describes the story as a warning that the music industry is not all glamour.
The book details with Christy Dignam’s struggle with drugs and his attempts to overcome the sexual abuse he suffered as a child.
Co-author of the book Neil Fetherstonhaugh says,
I was astonished as the further we went into the tale of Christopher Dignam how much more there was.
Aslan are now back in the studio working on their seventh album and hope to have a new single out in a few weeks.

At least he got to die surrounded by his family unlike his Father who was left to die alone and terrified with dementia. As Christy explained on one of his regular visits to his pal Tubridy at cesspit rte when talking of his father not understanding being abandoned to die alone because of a flu 'He didn't understand the concept'

@@BrianBoru5523do you really believe christy knew he was participating in an evil ritual? I just find that hard to believe.
I believe he was just overwhelmed with fear of the rabbit rabies as was so many. Remember, it's a psychological war

Kinda agree with Dave Fanning with his take on Christy Dignam. Aslan became the story about his heroin addiction and that eclipsed everything else. Dave Gahan had a serious heroin addiction, gave it up,put it behind him, got on with it. He didn't make an identity out of it and talk about it at every opportunity ever since.
