People forget that the lead-up to the MITB match was that there was only 7 members of ladder match with the 8th member replacement being decided to be Brock Lesnar. Roman did the same thing at Backlash (or Payback idk) when he signed his contract during the Fiend vs Brawn Strowman and won the championship. I don't know why people get so mad.
People are mad because Brock didn't need to win MITB. Brock was already a mega star, MITB is supposed to be used to help elevate up and coming wrestlers into the main event scene.
Why no one talks about the ending of 2018 hell in a cell because brock lesnar interfered and there was no winner crowned so it basically happened an year before in 2018. However, 2019 just killed it completely.

Would anybody have been curious to see a segment on Raw the day after Money in the Bank 2019 where the other ladder match participants came out to confront Lesner about his controversial victory. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Lesner had been forced to defend the brief case in a second ladder match.
Ironically, the Money in the Bank match would become even MORE pointless in 2020, when one briefcase winner (Asuka) was just gifted the Women's Championship on the spot, and the other (Otis, who wasn't even the man who climbed the ladder and unhooked the stupid thing) never got to cash in before he lost it in a match when Tucker turned on him for... reasons. I was at the hell in a cell in Sacramento. Fans were mad at the ending in the arena and started chanting AEW and a lot of people in my section said they were going to see if they could get their money back. For me it really wasn’t worth it since I got the tickets at a really crazy discount through work due to my company having a sponsorship deal with the golden 1 center. I get cheap tickets to kings games and events when they come. But it was a really bad ending and in the arena everyone seemed pissed
