Your explanation of the difference between constantly acquiring new things just to acquire them and having numerous things because your ideal number of that type of thing is not so small really resonated with me. It’s a concept I have struggled to put into words. I appreciate your eloquence as always
Just starting the meat of the video so idk where you’re gonna take this project if it’s continuing. That said, I would love to see the exact opposite of this where you put all of these things away (unless you don’t have alternatives) and only use the remainder of your collection. Also, your look is giving me pirate vibes (not sure why) and I’m here for it.
Maybe you should consider doing what you did your first season with your eyeshadows and declutter them into a box for a few months? Because you have a really excellent collection that you love and this might just be a season when you are vibing with specific colors and styles, but then seasons and pandemics shift and suddenly red and lime green is your jam again? I don't mean to suggest you completely forego decluttering eyeshadow, but maybe in phases. I say this because it's a technique of yours I did at the beginning of the year when I was in a very anti-blush vibe, and I;ve since gone back and pulled a few to keep, decluttered two, and have the rest in the box. I'm thinking about doing it with my palettes so that I only have a larger palettes, a couple small singles palettes and then my top 4 fave quads. I'm like all my cool toned shadows can GO. But maybe its just spring and quarantine talking? Or maybe I just recognize I like those shades for plau but just never actually wear them on my eyeballs. Would I miss them? Would I notice? Would I pull them out and then suddenly my tastes would shift again? Who KNOWS?
Omg what a godsend! I just finished writing two papers that were due today! One is on philosophy, one on religious studies, fourteen pages each....it doesnt sound like a lot but im sure you understand! I worked on them for the last two months and now that they're done, your video gets online and is about my favorite topic: makeup minimalism. What a treat, honestly, i need to relax so badly
Omg congratulations on the papers! I'm do far gone with missing my deadlines that I started to doubt the sense of even starting, but your comment kickstarted my motivation somewhat, you surely understand too! Thank you do much! 🥰
@@katarzynakonstancjadobrowo9072 thank you! Im so glad to hear that i somehow helped you. Believe me, even three days ago i was sure i would not get them finished in time. I have so much anxiety around doing good enough and without some words of encouragement, i'd still sit in the corner of my room, crying my eyes out! Some say, its only the beginning thats tough but to me, sticking through the whole process is super stressful. I totally believe in you and whatever the end result may be, its far superior to giving up, thats for sure. Best of luck to you
i know this is an old comment, but I'm currently writing two papers, one on moral philosophy and one on the nature of power in relation to sociopolitical constructs. heavy writing, both due Monday, both 10 pages. I got really excited when I saw your comment because I'm in a similar situation!!
@@averysandoval541 Omg that sounds like a busy weekend. I'm working on my graduation thesis (on Descartes Meditations) and a podcast on the role of mary at the crucification both in the bible and the quran. I just finished the scrip, so I will start recording tomorrow. Which of your topic is more interesting/difficult to you? I am sending you all the productivity vibes :D
Ohhhh, NARS Schiap is probably in honor of Elsa Schiapparelli, the famous 1920s- 1940s French fashion designer who worked with Salvador Dalí and defied the Nazis in WWII. "Shocking pink" was her signature color. 😁❤️
In some way I did the opposite this month. Before I was very passionate about project panning, but as the lock down keept going the more I used my other make up to do my daily make up, because f it, nobody sees me anyway. Until I realized I would be much happier to not limit my decisions on my project pan items. Happier than ever with my collection even tho it is still bigger than I would like it.
If I want to wear a bold lip like a red or a deep berry, I put it on first. I love those shades on myself, but I do the same thing you mentioned. If I do my entire face and then go to put my lipstick on I feel like I’m just doing too much if I put on a bold lip too.
Aimee Y I have been using the alter ego goddess palette, which has a dupe of cava & the whole palette is $16. I don’t know how great of a dupe it is because I haven’t personally ever used natasha denona, but I’ve definitely been loving it! And from other people’s videos, it seems a pretty good dupe?
I have the gold palette and have found that two of my clionadh eyeshadows are dupes for the green shades on the left hand side of the gold palette. The shade caribou from clionadh is a pretty good dupe for the shade under cava. Have not found a dupe for cava but I bet clionadh has one.
I like your rambly thoughts on minimalism. It's always really annoying to see minimalism as the same white/black/grey/beige aesthetic over and over again. Everyone's version of minimalism should look different, there's no cookie cuter perfect minimalist collection of anything. I consider my makeup collection to be minimalist, even though it's extremely colorful & doesn't fit that typical minimalist aesthetic, but I'd rather wear no makeup than neutral makeup. The bulk of my collection are my single eyeshadows, which I also use as blush, bronzer, highlighter and in my brows.
Interesting outcomes. I love your realization about lipstick. I’m the same way (probably because eye shadows make my eyes itch after awhile). Here’s a video suggestion: Pick a lipstick first then create a look around that instead of the eyes first. Would be interesting to hear about your process. Thanks. ♥️
I loved hearing your thoughts on this project. I've always been a minimalist who didn't need much variety. I have my staple products I know will work and can trust to perform every time, so there's no need to look for a replacement or a new release. It's already perfect! It honestly causes much less stress because I don't have to worry about an item going bad before I use it up, or deciding which item to use every morning--the choice is already made and I know it will look great. It'll be fun to see how this project changes your perspective for the rest of the year. I really enjoyed this, thank you!
Question for Roen users, how do you get all the glitter off your face? I bought the 11:11 quad and despite a very thorough double cleanse I couldn’t get all the glitter off. I love the colors and finish but loving the rest of my life with ever present glitter isn’t appealing.
I find that removing the eye makeup first with micellar water or biphase makeup remover and a cotton pad is the only way to avoid that! making sure to get the glitter on the cotton and then cleansing the whole face as I usually would, rather than spreading it around with the first cleanse is helpful, because you limit how far the little glitters can travel haha
@@Eva_R966 Thank you! I know that was probably a logical step I should have taken, but I didn't think about it and looked like a disco ball! When I can get out, and about some micellair water will be a priority purchase.
I love this series as it brings up a lot to think about in terms of how I'm curating my makeup and beauty products going forward now that I've broken the overspending habit. I think it's typical that those of us who love makeup would have categories that are bigger and others that are smaller, even if that means there are products that won't get used up completely. I also think it's normal to want to indulge in a new thing for fun every so often and be excited by it's newness. This is how I already treat nail polish. I mostly do my nails at home and every year I buy 2 or 3 polishes based on personal taste and current trends. I rarely finish them, but I'll occasionally declutter ones I'm not reaching for anymore to keep my stash feeling currated. I've naturally found a balance between utterly practical and incredibly indulgent and I want to do that with makeup as well.
I was wondering how "Scap" could make any more sense than "She-opp"? Then I went to Dr. Google, and realized it's probably named after the designer Schiaparelli, who had the nickname "Schiap." So, "Scap" it shall be! I also love my lip products. I change colors several times a day, usually progressing from lighter to darker as the day proceeds. I've always got so many lip products in my purse or out on the counter!
Wow just loved these videos! I saw another comment saying they’d like to see the exact opposite of this - banish all the things you just used for a month and only use the exile box for a week before you declutter it!
I was going to do an update to this challenge in my stories today! But then life happened. So I’m going to inbox my Sephora haul I got in today instead. And I plan on doing my update on Thursday. I’ve truly enjoyed this little challenge so much. Having my 35-40 products has eliminated so much of my decision fatigue. I’m excited to play around with my few little products. I’ve also learned that a lot of the products I put in the box are for my 10% makeup. You know, the makeup to go out, the make of IG (or in your case YT), the makeup to complete a look to complete an outfit. However, those items are almost never my everyday makeup items. So when I declutter I’m going to declutter with that in mind. It was so fun to go over your picks (and your misses with you). I can relate to the lip thing. I pulled 5-6 the first time and now I have like 10-12 and I miss a few more. But I’m going to rotate them in. Lippie love is complex.
I bought the Lumilayer VDL primer at launch, its now my all time fav, since I have no control, I'm just not using up my many other primers. I bought the Blur VDL and I much prefer Lumi VDL, yet another to pass on I guess. I want to scale it all back this year lol. Then I started switching it all up to creams, it never stops! But watching you is helpful, I watched you a long time ago, then somehow I lost you??? I'm subscribed again and I will keep an eye it. Thanks for your practicality.
This was so interesting! I'm grateful as ever for your ability to self-monitor and self-examine, then put what you've discovered into words for us. Also: this blush look is the greatest. 💖
It surprises me that you never saw the lipstick lover in yourself. I myself truly could be happy with just a few cheek and lip products, but I would bore quickly of a small selection of eyeshadows.
The part when you talk about how to proununce Schiap made me smile because it made me remember a comment that I left months and months ago under one of your videos about this lipstick and the connection to Elsa Schiaparelli, in fact I wrote that I think it has to be pronounced like "Skiap" since in Italian ch sounds like k in English 😊 anyway, this made realize that I always think of your channel as one of my "new channels", but at this point I have been following you for over two years!
A little additional note about the pronunciation, in case someone is interested, a lot of English speaking people pronunce Schiaparelli omitting the i, in fact even the makeup artist calls the lipstick "Skap", but in Italian we don't have mute letters (except the h) so the i has to be pronounced too 😊 it's something like "Skiup"
The question on my lips too! Didn't Hannah pull her Em Cosmetics Lip Clouds (is that what they're called?) back in after a week? Did I dream this episode?
Re: the name of the NARS lipstick, it' NOT proniunce scap, tho. I mean, I could be totally off, but all my years of speaking Italian are telling me it's pronounced as if it was written scyap- there's a [j] sound between [sk] and [ap]. Right? Or am I crazy?
I’m on my third year of going minimal. i started with makeup and it’s still not my ideal number. I still have extras in some makeup categories but what a difference having small collection has. I feel lighter. And minimalism is def a journey, so I take it at my own pace
I did something similar to this by necessity, not by choice. I recently moved, but I was staying with my friend until my new apartment was ready. I had to put the majority of my collection away due to limited space. The first thing I learned was that I was mostly okay, but what I missed most were my many eyeshadow palettes. I keep feeling guilty about my large collection (I have roughly 50) but observing that I do reach for them and use them, I feel better about having such a large collection, similar to you. The other thing I learned was that even though I have some items that I don’t treasure in my collection, I have to keep them for my job. I’m a performer (on stage and also as a princess for birthday parties). There are certain things that although I don’t use or treasure them, I can’t declutter like a strong contour or certain shades of lipstick or very neutral basic eyeshadow or a matte full coverage foundation or a heavy duty setting spray. I use these for my job, so even though I didn’t pull them out as my favourites to use in the housing interim, I had to go back in and dig them out when I had a gig. It makes me think I should have a separate storage location for those things, but the fact is I use some of my treasured items to do my whole theater face as well and I get ready in the same place so there’s not really a practical purpose to moving/reorganizing.
I just wanted to tell you that I love your videos and giving me different points of views. I love your long videos too, it's like having a friend over and talking about makeup, life , and random thoughts and questions. I don't think I'm explaining this correctly. Just thank you. Have a wonderful day.
This look is perfection ❤️ this has certainly given me some food for thought over my own collection. I certainly need to be more critical of products, but the biggest thing is that I need to be more honest with myself about what I enjoy using. Seeing how you reconcile with each item was really interesting, thank you!
I'm very curious to find a dupe for cava as well, and I'm intrigued by the mini urban decay party favor palette. I don't necessarily think that a specific shade would be a perfect dupe, but the moondust formula seems like it might provide the glittery sheen I'm looking for. I can definitely see myself dipping into that palette and choosing from the curated variety of shades to top my looks off each day, but I'm waiting to see more reviews. there haven't been many and it's no longer a new product, so I may just end up taking the plunge
I have the Urban Decay Party Favor and I really love it. I often use it to add some glitter to an eye look. While I don't have the gold pallet and cant compare to Cava, I have 6 other Natasha Denona pallets, all three Roen Quads and the entire collection of clionadh cosmetics glitter Multi Chromes. So as you can see glitter is one of my favourite things and I honestly wear it daily. So I have a lot of options and I still often pull the Urban Decay Party Favor pallet and use it in combination with my other glitterly and textured eyeshadows since I love the moon dust formula and would honestly recommend it if you are interested in the colour scheme. The formula is simply lovely. If you have any questions about the pallet let me know! Hope this helps.
I have the palette and honestly love it. The only issue I have is that some of the shades are quite similar to some of the single Moondust shadows I already had and that the packaging isn’t my favorite.
As much as I love eyeshadow, and I do, I can pretty happily have a small selection, work through it, hit pan, and move on. Lipstick (and to some extent blush) are my favorites and bring me a ton of joy wearing and playing with them. It's not uncommon for me to have on just skincare and a lip on the weekends. And AGREE about base. I am project panning the heck out of them and possibly finding that bronzer and highlight fit into that category (to be determined). But lipstick and lipgloss is just what sparks the most joy. I almost always pick out my lip color first (unless I have an eye or cheek look in mind), because it makes me silly happy.
Love to see this project progress and reach a sort of a natural conclusion! I put away all the ”non-essentials” a while ago in the spirit of this project. I started to miss some stuff after a while, and pulled the, out, and I also used my exile box to replace things that ran out. I found that I really didnt miss almost any of my eyeshadows, singles or palettes, because I always use my bronzer, contour and highlight for that. I just sort of got confused with how long did it take for me to start missing anything so I might reboot the whole project, but it really has been interesting! Can’t wait to see your grande finale, keep up the good work and take extra good care of yourself as well! :)
Im the opposite I love having and using a lot of palettes and eyeshadows but everything else i can stand to only have a few. Like i own exactly one highlighter and i only ever use one gloss but i have like 10 palettes
I wanted to ask about CT Spotlight wand - is it glittery, metallic or glossy? I wander how it compares to Hollywood Flawless filter, but I know you don’t have it
I don't have the Spotlight Wand, but I can tell you that the Flawless Filter is not very shiny at all - it gives a glow that's somewhere between a highlight and a foundation, but I personally only ever use it underneath foundation for a glowier, more perfected look. Don't know if that helps at all :)
Hannah, you should check out UD Moondust single shadow in Space Cowboy when you run out of Cava. I’ve been using it the way you seem to use Cava and it’s very sparkly, wet, and shiny. I would be curious to see if it does the same thing for you as Cava.
sc1592 i think hannah should be familiar with the ud moondust ( she had a whole pallete) for me i completely panned the space cowboy for that wet look eye
@@HannahLouisePoston Have you tried Nabla Water Dream? I've heard that it also gives a shiny wet look so I'm curious about how that one would compare as well.
Anca Vrinceanu yeah but space cowboy isn’t in the moondust palette, it’s only available as a single. I’ve also found that the singles have a different texture than the palette, more creamy and less dusty, but that might just be because my palette is older than my singles
@@aimeey2859 I have had both water dream and space cowboy. I think the water dream is a bit sheerer but also more sparkly ( but I have to pack/work more with it) . It's also more white /icy than cava I think based on the looks I see here but definitely cooler than the tom ford naked bronze topper. :) however, it's a great shadow thanks for remaining me of it . I should use it more :)
I just love your videos! I just listened and agree that I found that I only need 2 or 3 blushes with different glimmer or mattness. Also, just baked banana bread, blueberry banana muffins and banana chocolate bars while your video played. Thanks for timing my productiveness lol. No food waste in this house!
It's interesting seeing your experience here. I seem to be regularly looking for new eyeshadow palettes online as I get excited about the different colour stories. However, if I am honest with myself, I could actually live with one decent neutral palette. However, having just one blush, lip gloss, lip liner and lipstick sounds like hell. Perhaps it's because I have relatively little lid space so actually it's more impactful to play up my lips than eyes. Or perhaps it's because although I will wear a nude lip, I get way more complements when I wear a red, orange, coral or bronzy / coppery one. Either way, I find that I really notice if one of my lipsticks goes missing but some of my eyeshadow palettes I reckon you could hide and it would take me a while to realise it as I don't reach for them that often.
Can you use the rituel de fille one in a grwm ? My chanel lip blush is getting dangeously low and i want to replace it with rituel de fille ( sadly chanel is not available online for me ) in delirium probably ;)
I love this make up look today. I feel like the eyes are so striking and then the contrast of coloured shiny cheeks to your pale skin is just so stunning 😍😍
these past few days i've done the makeup i used to do in high school, back when i had just one of every item (although back then i thought blush was stupid, but now it's my favorite thing, so i have been using that). it's been a fun experiment to sort of time travel, and every day i'm temped to just toss out like half of my makeup, but i know (having impulsively thrown out stuff in the past) that i might regret it later. but then i think, why? why do i need all these things? and the answer is variety. i don't feel the same every day and it's just so satisfying to match your makeup to your mood.
HI Hannah! I've recently been re-watching older videos of yours, and noticed the difference in make up looks between then and now, and now watching this video and what you are saying I wanted to ask something that troubles me often: how do you know that the previous Hannah who liked some products or categories of products more than others (ie eye shadows) won't be back one day, after you have decluttered your collection, and want some of these things back? If you declutter your ND lila palette for example, how can you be sure that you won't be missing it in a year, wishing you hadn't decluttered it? As I said, this is something that keeps me from decluttering a few of my things that could be decluttered now, but I will want to use them at some point in the future. I watch myself getting off of some things, and then back on them again. For example I wouldn't care about a single blue shadow I have, but then I discovered a look I love with that and some green-gold shadows, and now I'm worried I will run out of those shadows I use for that look, and never be able to find them again! I wouldn't want to hate me for decluttering something only to find out I'd want it in the future!
RaniaMich perhaps declutter this things into a box and watch your behavior for the next 6 months, to see if you Desire a make Up aesthetic that you don’t have at your daily collection, but have at the declutter box
RaniaMich that is what I do for makeup and clothes, I hold things for months and in a random day I am like “I feel like decluttering today” and I through the box
It will be a bittersweet day when you fully hit pan and use up Cava :) It's been such a trooper in your collection. Schiap as in Elsa Schiaparelli?.......I can't believe I never made the connection with it being the Shocking Pink colour.🤦 Edit: Personally, as things have progessed into my No Colour No Buy, I am finding comfort in the variety I already own, but truly beginning to understand that while I enjoy having something like 30-ish lip products, I truly could not care less about base products so long as the one I have works. To have more than 1 mascara open at a time would be my worst nightmare, and while I love the idea of having a coloured eyeliner, I prefer to have the versatility of black. While creams are alluring in their own way, I would never want more than one cream based product open at any given time.
Yep, as in Schiaparelli :D However, I have always pronounced her name "Shaparelli" (which according to Wikipedia is apparently as viable as "Skaparelli," though I believe "Skaparelli" is the correct Italian pronunciation) and hence refer to the lip colour in my own mind as "Shap."
Hi Hannah, I've loved following this project of yours and find myself doing something similar with my smaller collection. (even if it's just pulling a full face of product in a makeup bag to use for a week and swapping things out as I see fit!) I was wondering if this were a real-life situation, would you opt for the alter ego goddess palette instead of the ND one? I have been lusting after the color story but couldn't bring myself to shell out the money for the ND one, but have heard from people online alter ego's formula is great as well.
it's a really good all-around formula. I think if the color story is what you are after, the Alter Ego is a great option (or if you want to wear the colors for a while and find out if it suits you). But for me, the ND gold palette is all about texture, and the Alter Ego palette doesn't quite dupe the textures. If it were me I would hold out for the Gold, but I'd hope for it as a gift rather than spending my own money!
When going through this, I personally asked myself what I wanted out of the Gold palette to begin with- because I'm normally not someone who opts for neutrals. For me, I wanted Lime Chrome, Brass, Dijon- those shadows. I happened to already have an amazing matte mustard from Shroud, and I went through and frankenshadowed a Lime Chrome dupe out of some of my existing shades to create that incredible shift- it may not be exact, but I adore it. (Elle S has a video on frankenshadows.) Since I don't have money to throw around, it was the easiest way for me to get what I wanted from that palette. Depending on your financial status, I'm sure that'll speak a lot for itself- and what exactly it is you want or don't already have. If you already have bronze-y neutrals, I'd say invest in some of those "special" shades that JD Glow, Clionadh, Devinah, etc have to pair with your neutral palettes to give them that pop from ND without spending ND money. Now, if you have extra money or want to treat yourself, I'm sure the Gold palette would be such a delightful purchase, especially if it's something you'd use all the time. :3 I hope this helped! I know I'm not Hannah, but.
I am learning that you really have made GREAT purchases this year! And you've always loved lots of lipsticks so it comes as no surprise that you like having variety
This was a very interesting process to follow, I can't wait for the declutter video to hear your thoughts on how you now view the rest of your collection !
I think you've done something like this in the past, but not quite with the same wording. (When you did a shop your stash with lip products) You mentioned you were giving lip products the short shrift because it's the last step and you're worried about looking overdone. Would love to see a video where you take a few days and select a lip product first, and make a look around it . Edit: continued watching and you said you were going to start doing this. I guess I'm saying I'd love to see it as a video..either one video that shows your different looks in a given period, or just once with a grwm!
This project of yours is not my kind of project. I couldn't do it. I need my variety. That being said blush would be the only product I would be ok with a few of, but I'm happy with what I have. Now that I daid all that I will say that I'm looking forward to watching your declutter video) or videos if you feel like you need more than one).
Fascinating Hannah! I feel the same way about eye shadow versus lipstick and blush. I think the reality is that (with the kind of looks I do, my facial structure etc) I can most impact-fully change my look from day to day by altering my lipstick (and I am quite picky about what lipsticks I wear with what blushes).
You surprised me with those lipstick and lipglosses! I am a lipstick girl - I wear one every single day (I am that girl wearing red lip during the hike!). Except in isolation. I put some light make-up one few times a week but I never put lipstick on - I just feel like it's too messy for being at home!
Sounds like the gold palette is something you should spend on. You have so many other things that you can probably spend less on... No offense, everybody has an opinion.
Different project but I have been making an effort to reach and use products I dont ever reach for. What I have found is that I remember, after use, why I never reach for them. This time, instead of just not reaching for them, I am reckoning with them. One on my favorite eye shadows to look at just doesn't stay on my eyes. I tried, concealer, base, glitter glue, makeup mixer (pro stuff that is a clear liquid and typically way to much work for normal every day usage) and just didnt get the same result as a simple arm swatch. Sad but was also satisfying to come to terms with it so Im not constantly setting it aside and then unsatisfied when I do use it. Also is reminding me what about my top performers that I love so much! Thanks for sharing!
Oh God! This video came out in perfect timing for me. I'm the kind of person that loves variety but just as long as I get some use out of it. I don't have too too many (I think) And for me is easy to know that 20-30% of my collection I'm not using. I can't try to do this exact experiment because half of my collection are limited edition things or just things that are hard for me to get because I'm in mexico and I've bought most of my makeup overseas. Never the less, I'll certainly play the minimalist game a little just to see what do I miss and what i'm just hoaring.
This video really resonated with me. When I first realized I had a problem with the endless buying cycle of makeup, I really made it a point to note the items that I was using all the time vs the items that went untouched. I feel like this process is a bit different than shop my stash where you are electing to use only those items for which you've shopped. By exploring what you truly love organically, you do settle in to those items you've curated to be the essence of yourself. I also have a core group of base products, I also feel like mascara is disposable and any will do. I thought I was big into cheek product when really I just needed a bronzer and a great blush tone for me. It's interesting where you settle when you leave out the nasty buying lizard brain. I have to remind myself when looking at new items the care in which I selected what I have. Do I love or want to love this new item more? That has become the question for me moving forward!
I know I can survive on around 5 lip products, I used two glosses, one lipstick and a balm while living abroad and panned all of them by the end of the year 😂 Then panned two more glosses in similar colours... I like an occasional red, but I could definitely pare down my lip product collection! I've bought four glosses, one lipstick and one liquid lipstick since January 2018 when I started my first no-buy! But I've also bought like 150 single eyeshadows since then, so I know what my weaknesses are 😂
I also need to make sure not to fetishise the idea of having only one of everything.... it terms of moving videos around your apartment may I suggest another instalment of ‘Hannah reads’ with you curled up in a living room chair?
Your explanation of the difference between constantly acquiring new things just to acquire them and having numerous things because your ideal number of that type of thing is not so small really resonated with me.
I wonder if any indie brands have a dupe for Cava. I was just watching Amy Loves Makeup's new video and she shared a dupe for Lime Chrome
Aimee Y Natasha sells single. She might have cava as a single, they sell them on Beautylish.
Linda hallberg Metallic Mysteries palette has shade Collinsion which is good dupe for Cava
Natasha’s chroma crystal top coats are remarkably similar in finish to those extra shimmer shades
I so needed a good long Hannah video today! Thank you! ❤️ Also, the brows look AMAZING.
Yay! Thank you!
Interesting outcomes. I love your realization about lipstick. I’m the same way (probably because eye shadows make my eyes itch after awhile). Here’s a video suggestion: Pick a lipstick first then create a look around that instead of the eyes first. Would be interesting to hear about your process.
Thanks. ♥️
I always end up doing my lips first, then cheeks. That's what Lisa Eldridge does, and I didn't even think to question it, ever. XD
I use Lancôme Bi-facil to remove the Róen shadows, then double cleanse with the Good Molecules Instant Cleansing Balm. Works a treat!👍🏻
I thought the same thing! lol Gosh, several times a day? :O How do you find the time?!
@@notafangirl most people reapply their lip product multiple times per day anyway, even if they're just wearing one.
Wow just loved these videos! I saw another comment saying they’d like to see the exact opposite of this - banish all the things you just used for a month and only use the exile box for a week before you declutter it!
oouuu that shirt looks so good on you!
Thank you!!
I love how “retail therapy“ isn’t even an option right now. Shipping takes 3 weeks so why bother?
This was so interesting! I'm grateful as ever for your ability to self-monitor and self-examine, then put what you've discovered into words for us. Also: this blush look is the greatest. 💖
It surprises me that you never saw the lipstick lover in yourself.
I myself truly could be happy with just a few cheek and lip products, but I would bore quickly of a small selection of eyeshadows.
Only seconds in and I already love seeing the vanity again!! Also: this look 😍
Andrea ya I like it too, it gives a brighter/airier feel to the background and good contrast against the dark wallpaper
I remember your past comment! :D
I knew it was Rose Latte in your cheeks 💕
No Faded Clementine??
The question on my lips too! Didn't Hannah pull her Em Cosmetics Lip Clouds (is that what they're called?) back in after a week? Did I dream this episode?
You're lucky you get such nice gifts, also lucky you often get to pick your gifts.
It makes me think I should have a separate storage location for those things, but the fact is I use some of my treasured items to do my whole theater face as well and I get ready in the same place so there’s not really a practical purpose to moving/reorganizing.
so interesting! Thanks for sharing!
Seeing how you reconcile with each item was really interesting, thank you!
thank you!
Amanda Dobb yesss, i learned that from her and it’s a must whenever I want to pull out a bold or dark colour! 💪🏼
I wander how it compares to Hollywood Flawless filter, but I know you don’t have it
it's not glittery, but it does have a lot of shine. It's a lot like the old Becca liquid formula. It's more shiny than the flawless filter, I think.
Hannah Louise Poston thank you 😘
I don't have the Spotlight Wand, but I can tell you that the Flawless Filter is not very shiny at all - it gives a glow that's somewhere between a highlight and a foundation, but I personally only ever use it underneath foundation for a glowier, more perfected look. Don't know if that helps at all :)
anotherlemontree thanks
Oh man I want that Patrick Ta brow styling wax...love them brows!!
thanks! I also filled them in more than usual and was really living for that arch :)
I bought the vdl lumilayer primer because of you and I love it so much...
Hannah, you should check out UD Moondust single shadow in Space Cowboy when you run out of Cava. I’ve been using it the way you seem to use Cava and it’s very sparkly, wet, and shiny. I would be curious to see if it does the same thing for you as Cava.
sc1592 i think hannah should be familiar with the ud moondust ( she had a whole pallete) for me i completely panned the space cowboy for that wet look eye
that shadow has been on my wishlist for ages! thanks for the reminder!
I always get them confused too! Bobbi Brown and BareMinerals
BobbiMinerals! .. Bare Brown..?
I juste love hear you ramble ! 1-hour long video about feellings about make up was juste what I was needing ! Thank you!
Woah. I love that top so much 😍
It will be a bittersweet day when you fully hit pan and use up Cava :) It's been such a trooper in your collection.
Schiap as in Elsa Schiaparelli?.......I can't believe I never made the connection with it being the Shocking Pink colour.🤦
Edit: Personally, as things have progessed into my No Colour No Buy, I am finding comfort in the variety I already own, but truly beginning to understand that while I enjoy having something like 30-ish lip products, I truly could not care less about base products so long as the one I have works. To have more than 1 mascara open at a time would be my worst nightmare, and while I love the idea of having a coloured eyeliner, I prefer to have the versatility of black. While creams are alluring in their own way, I would never want more than one cream based product open at any given time.
Yep, as in Schiaparelli :D However, I have always pronounced her name "Shaparelli" (which according to Wikipedia is apparently as viable as "Skaparelli," though I believe "Skaparelli" is the correct Italian pronunciation) and hence refer to the lip colour in my own mind as "Shap."
watching now, 1st thoughts, is this a wordy way of saying shop stash?
Hannah, have you ever done a video about your makeup mind palace? You mention it all the time and I'd love to hear more about it.
Looking so fierce!!! I love that dark brow look on you!
Your editorial blush situation here has me shook
I love love love this eyelook, so pretty!
Thank you so much!!
💜💙💚💜💙💚
I love your short hair!
hi Wendy! thank you!
I love your makeup today. It's perfectly balanced. I can't get over it. Enjoying this project too.
Hannah, in honor of National Poetry Month, what have you been reading?
Sounds like the gold palette is something you should spend on. You have so many other things that you can probably spend less on... No offense, everybody has an opinion.
💖💖💖
Yay! I'm here so early
YAY
But I've also bought like 150 single eyeshadows since then, so I know what my weaknesses are 😂
Can you remind us to like the video love from australia
I also need to make sure not to fetishise the idea of having only one of everything....
it terms of moving videos around your apartment may I suggest another instalment of ‘Hannah reads’ with you curled up in a living room chair?
Also say veggie meat of the video lol please yay
