Planet Coaster is a construction and management simulation video game developed and published by Frontier Developments. The game is a spiritual successor to the RollerCoaster Tycoon series, and is perfect for the detailer, with the third game in that series having been previously developed by Frontier.

I would rather have a planet coaster 2 before a planet zoo 2
They need to make a "platinum"game like the old rct3
I would sure hope so. Planet Coaster is way more overdue. Planet Zoo doesn't really need a sequel any time soon, as it's way more complete than PlanetCo was.
@@EmeraldBayMoviesI agree. Planet Zoo is better when it comes to what’s in the actual game. I’d rather see a Planet Coaster 2. That said.. planet zoo is way more successful than Planet Coaster. And a business exists to make profit. So.. I don’t know.

I feel like the next planet game will be a live service game and will combine multiple "planet" games.
It might not be the planet coaster 2 or Planet Zoo 2, but as an end goal, I can see a game like Planet Resort that lets players build big areas for guests.
If those areas include a theme park, zoo, watermark or golf course or just consist of a massive hotel complex is up to the player.
A massive game like this could draw in all those new players you mentioned and has the potential to create sub player bases similar to what happened with RCT3.
You are just interested in themeparks? Build A theme park resort. Do you just want to have a big zoo? Build a zoo resort. Do you like the economy aspect most? Build a massive resort with hotels, smaller parks, and micromanage the staffing and prices. More of a Water park guy? Build a water park. - You get the point.
I'm not sure if I would want a live service game.

If PC2 wants to "jump start" the casual players, they should include templates with pre-made paths and some landscaping with designated platforms for dropping down the rides of their choice. This would remove most of the worst struggles of beginners.
Planet Waterpark could be cool but I don’t see it having enough content to be lucrative for them. I think they’d see more success with the Anno approach on PC2 and release 20 dlcs. Everyone already has every dlc on PlanCo anyway
Not only do I want PC2 to be prettyer but also have maybe double to flat rides and double ride types.
I think the community should support any planet game they put out, because if we don't, they'll be in serious financial trouble (you can take a look at their current cashflow + cash, it aint good)
If they come out with a planet coaster 2 most likely, it will be the same thing as roller coaster tycoon 3 with theme, park zoo and waterpark combined.

So i guess you can have the piece of mind that its been done already so i cant see frontier bringing and of those kind of games out.
I definitely think that frontier are bringing planet coaster 2 within the next year.
What i really hope to see in the future is a combined world from the planet series.
If it was me i would call it planet city or planet ultra city and i would combine all of the planet coaster stuff with a lot more additions plus the planet zoo stuff and i would add water parks and different things that are customisable and interactive like city elements and traffic much like cities skylines but to add to the detail of actually seeing your guests arrive rather than a teleporter.
Like how cool would it be to have a theme park zoo with a movie set next door that you can manage

Ps ive always wanted to build a seaworld type park or busch gardens florida so the combined zoo and theme park would be so perfect

I think they need to add a big new feature, maybe water parks or a lot more management stuff (power, stock etc) otherwise if it’s just new coaster models I think it only appeals to big roller coaster fans

@@Sdanwolf I believe it is a new version of the game engine because the version that was used in the original PC had issues that could not be fixed by simply updating the game. I believe it’s a version of the cobra engine that we have not seen in any of the other games. Hopefully we will find out soon!
Pretty sure it is,but if it isn't I sure will be a little dissapointed. They have been hyping this game up quite a bit lately tho.
The only thing that keeps me going is that I found an animator who makes all my custom animations now for all my rides on my channel, if I hadn't found him I would've quit this game a long time ago. Thank Gawd for TMTK because it really does let me take the game to the next level while waiting on Planet Coaster 2 if it ever comes out. I'm choosing to live in a positive, but possibly delusional, world until Frontier announces whatever game releasing for Holiday 2024. Until they tell me "No." I am sure it will be Planet Coaster 2.
I would love to have a modern RCT game somewhere closer to Planet Coaster graphics but still be fun like RCT3. PC has a more serious vibe to it.
I was really hoping that Park Beyond was going to fill this hole, but sadly it didn't. I really liked PB's art style, but all the impossified stuff is stupid.

It’s Sony never said the PlayStation five was at its end of life. It’s in its mid life cycle. We can’t forget that there’s going to be a PlayStation five Pro coming out this year.
Planet coaster basically isn’t being supported anymore. They put out all the DLC for it and nothing new insight as far as the first game goes.
There were things that were brought up in the past about a planet coaster, two and expansion packs. Most of us have all of the expansion packs for the first one, and to turn around and have to do something like that again to get extra rides or building pieces , I feel like I would have wasted money on what I already have now, and will ultimately end up not wanting to purchase DLC packs when it was something that they could have just put in the game in the first place.
I’m not really sure why they couldn’t also add basically planet zoo into planet coaster so it was integrated people could have integrated a theme park in a zoo. What happened to the water parks? Was the engine not capable of that sort of thing?
I know a lot of people are hoping that the next planet coaster game will be on a completely different engine, but I think it’s safe to say, they’re going to use what they’ve been using. With planet coaster, that engine wasn’t exactly well optimized, especially when parks got really big.

A serious mistake. I don't want Planet Zoo 2, Planet Golf, Planet Aquarium or anything like that. I want Planet Coaster 2, and any game in the planet universe that is different from Planet Coaster will be like a bucket of cold water for me.
I definitely feel like the community is too pigeon-holed and dare I suggest too "uncreative" for a creative game idea. But I agree, financially, Frontier might need the next game to be PC2, or at least PC2-adjacent, like waterparks. It's a balancing scale that I haven't jumped on either side. I kindof wanna see what else Frontier can think up, something different. But that also might not be the best move and "playing it safe" might be a better option to get back on track. It's a hard decision either way, because the payout could be bad or good no matter what decision has been made.

Well for a cash flow stand point, the just keep supporting PZ with DLCs. thats a cash cow
Frontier has invested considerably already in Coaster and Zoo, including many updates (including free content) and DLCs. Are they going to retire these games and start over with version 2s? I don't think so. Their base is the casual gamer, not nerd building freaks (like me and most people visiting this channel). If they make a new Coaster, I think they may try to upgrade what they already have to new technology, maybe offer that free for PC, then start pushing new expansions, or DLCs on a graphically new PC game. Building on what they already have could be financially sound for Planet all the while giving the fans exactly what they want for an updated game. Think about all that Plant Coaster already offers? What more can be added to a full-fledged game that hasn't been done already? It could be, if you want to push a new game, content creators may do best by talking about building on the existing asset rather than pleading for a brand-new game.

Ehmmmm first of all: PC 2 should have a new engine that runs bigger parks smoother and might be the most important part. Not everyone has the money to buy high end gaming PCs.
Second: a graphic Update, with weather, new path System, new theme packs, new coaster (tilt, switch track, double loading section, drop track, swing launch, turn tables, lights that breaks at walls and allow us to create better dark rides etc)
The amount of changes is endless.
Also: better Management system, parades, new Animations and interactions with the guests......
I could keep going.

There's only so much they can do with an 8 year old game though. The engine for that game is not good as it can barely handle medium-sized parks and can't utilize modern hardware at all. Planet Zoo performs much better from what I heard, so they need to incorporate those upgrades into their future Planet games.
“PlanCo you need a damn bachelor’s degree in design…” I felt that. I haven’t played PlanCo in years because it was too tedious to get the park to look somewhat realistic. I want to plop a pre-made coaster, a path, some trees and call it a day. I don’t want to spend a week designing a building for the bathroom to go in. I’m not a graphic designer, architect, interior designer etc and don’t have that attention span for detail.
For PlanCo 2 I would love more pre-designed coasters, more flat-rides and attractions, larger maps and of course waterparks!

was the pc2 disney collaboration debunked yet or is that still a possibility?
It looks like it was legitimately a thing but Disney backed out midway through production and partially caused a delay in the release

If they were to do planet hospital ot planet golf or something else really weird, they should make them a much smaller game, like only a year or two of support. But with all the finacial nonsense going on they should definitely gocus on pc2 with a console release on the same day as pc or release it shortly after

As a Frontier Dev, I can't say much, but we aren't developing a new Planet Game. However, we plan to design a new game for 2025 that will be a Planet game.
