      I'm stuck between a Hoyt Nitrux and a PSE evo NtN 33 for my first bow I'm buying in 2 weeks. Could you offer me some insight as to why you choose Hoyt and not PSE and which bow you'd recommend I lean towards?
      I'm in Texas and there's a couple of Archery shops and bigger retail stores like Dick's, Field and Stream and Academy that offer both brands.

      I'm from Iowa, living in San Diego, and a big Hoyt man myself. I was at Performance in San Diego when Dudley presented Rogan his bow. It was super cool. I was pretty bummed and shocked when he went PSE. I honestly think that Hoyt, Mathews and PSE are brands you can't go wrong with. I'll always shoot one of the other 2 if ever leaving Hoyt.

    I don’t care who John shoots for. I’m just impressed that PSE is letting him have control of his own wants and needs. That’s telling about the man Pete Shepley is and the vision he has for both his company and archery.
    It’s also more telling about John Dudley. He really truly cares about the future of archery and where it’s heading. He has a following and he’s the #1 reason I got confident in doing my own bow work at home.
    I thinks it’s really cool he can wear whatever he wants and won’t be “penalized” for mentioning another bow company or working on them in his videos. Sounds like it’s a partnership where he’s in control of his own creative freedoms.

      As someone who isn't particularly brand loyal, nor one who triesmirror a hunting celebrity's rig, nor someone who trades up every season, I have to admire Dudley and what he's trying to do for the community. As stated earlier, as someone who advocates a very hands on approach and tries to stay fairly neutral, despite certain...obligations; he's a great resource for DIY knowledge.

      Well said mate. Just reading some of the comments here it seems that folks will go where the big name guy goes. I've owned two Hoyts now; the Pro Comp Elite and now the Pro Force and the only reason I bought either of them was because I liked the look and they were greatly reduced. The Pro Comp I got for about a third of the original price and Pro Force was just under half price. I would never buy a product just because a high profile salesman says I should buy it. I leave that to the saps of this world.

I didn't ask questions about performance etc as I know we all experience in different ways. Made in the US, I myself am a vet with a business degree and appreciate the shift of focus to US production again. A lot of jobs were lost overseas, but also, to automation. The handcrafting that is required in this art is one that is proliferated and bridged for guys like me through guys like John, creates just a few more jobs and cash flow to the right companies, but with a big cultural impact... I haven’t shot any of PSE’ flagship models but they offer the best package bow for the money. The drive with the high end package is a great deal. You get a drop away, micro adjustment sight, decent quiver, and it’s fairly quiet. Most of all the cams are unmatched. The speed you get with the amount of holding weight, ease of draw, and 7in brace height can’t be beat at $650. The closest you can get IMO is a bowtech carbon icon but it’s another $100

    Interesting. My first compound bow was also a PSE with a 55% let off which I bought 2nd hand back in 1992. The bows of yesteryears and todays high technology bows has a big difference. Today, I am 76 yrs old and still shooting but at draw weight below 60 lbs. Thanks for the knowledge gain in watching your videos.

    I can relate my first bow was a PSE when I was 14. I think it's an awesome transition. PSE in the past has slipped away from Mass majority of people because of their super high-performance speed bows hard drawing bows. It was really turning into All or Nothing with PSE. But I think after seeing these new bows I think they're on the right track and they're going to be making waves coming up in the next couple years. If I could sell my Elite Echelon 37 right now I would buy this bow and still shoot 300 at tournament I'm sure of it.

Their bows are ok but nothing spectacular and they didn’t have any big name Archers as spokesmen. I imagine what kind of deal Dudley got. I agree with you there. I have been hunting for a long while and was Prostaff and have hunted in various locations with some good bow hunting experience. My advice to any new archer or even if you are experienced - DO NOT buy into the marketing schemes these guys like Dudley are paid good money to promote the product and these guys just chase the money around. I do believe Dudley is a passionate and very knowledgeable hunter and well respected but at the end of the day they go where they are offered the best deal/cash. What you need to do especially if you are not rich - you need to go to your local shop and shoot all bows and allow common sense to prevail. I shot the new Hoyt, Matthews and Bowtech Realm Sr6 . Hands down and by a decent margin I went with the bowtech. The feel,let-off, accuracy and speed couldnt be ignored and its quiet. The hoyt vibrated and Matthews did nothing for me. The price of the hoyt compared to Bowtech was like apple and oranges and for that price with it being a vibrating machine, no thanks. Take your time with it spend the day at the bow shop and dont fall into these guys who get paid big bucks to market. Joe Rogan and all those guys get these bows for free - they will promote whoever spoils them.

    • @megadthes8427

      I think, To Hoyt he was just a face for influence over his vast community of followers. A sales gimmick. Hoyt has teams of engineers who’ve spent decades of research and development and could care less about his menial developmental ideas. Plus the cost of modifications to a production process must be weighed against the benefit of the changes and financial return. Nothing he added to that pse increased their revenue other than his name. Give pse a few years and I’ll bet they don’t implement his ideas anymore. Just a bargaining tactic to get him to the lineup.

      Respectfully disagree. He brings more than a name, he will bring increased revenue from his endorsement. People who were reluctant to try or go back to PSE will now do so because he wouldn’t put his stamp on something that’s trash. He doesn’t strike me as a guy who is following the biggest paycheck, he strikes me as genuine and just wanted some input on design.

    • @singletrackid3172
      @singletrackid3172 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@dmartinez1993 I agree with you here. I've been following Dudley for the better part of 7 years now and he is the reason that I fell into a Hoyt for a change. To my disappointment I couldn't shoot a Hoyt near as well as literally any other bow I had owned previously. Nothing against hoyt. My first bow was the PSE Thunderbolt and since then I've jumped from top end bow company to the next for the last 15 years and 2 years ago realized that PSE was just underrated in my opinion, so I bought an evolve that I still shoot to this day. Who knows what kind of monetary deal Dudley got in his switch to PSE, but it'll be nice to see this company get back to the top dog because quite frankly I think they need to be noticed as such. If Pete is true to his word and continues to get advice from arguably the best shooter in the world, PSE will be untouchable. I think Hoyt is a little foolish for not wanting to take his advice.
