It's funny just watching everyone in the comments saying they copied oblivion. B&M have the right to sell anyone who is interested in it this design. It's just like going round suing every park that has a vekoma boomerang or slc because they "copied it from another park".
its weird how big the drop looks compared to oblivion but you forget that this was exactly the same as oblivion its just that half of oblivion is underground. its weird to think oblivion is that big.
I wonder if B&M ever considered essentially "scaling up" the drop another 20ft to get that classification, if not for the original (which already had to dig quite deep enough to be that big a drop with the Alton Towers restrictions) then for clones at other parks without them? Presumably there'd have needed to be some other reprofiling at the bottom to keep the vertical Gs in check with the added speed...
This is a good way to see how big Oblivion actually is. With Oblivion being half underground you don’t really get a sense of how big it is, while here you can.
This Video is my part of a Nostalgic childhood! I watched that video when i was a 5-6-7 years old! And 1:59 "Weeeee!" With wobbling high pitched Like a Woman is making me laugh!
This ride may be short, but simply given that it's in Japan adds to it and makes it scary and thrilling as hell. You never know if your going to be hit by a tsunami, earthquake, radiation, a nuke, or a straight up Godzilla before it's over. I even heard one dude died from ninjas half way through it, another went up in flames before it even started just from the Wasabi snacks he picked up at concessions on the way. Ride if you dare.
For everyone saying it copied Oblivion, first off, B&M made moth of them. They have the right to sell it to any park that wants one. Also, IT IS JUST ANOTHER DIVE COASTER. People say Gate Keeper copied X-Flight, but if anything, X-Flight copied Raptor at Gardaland, but that is just another Wing Coaster, so no one copied anyone.
***** Only because of the size, really. But size isn't what matters. Oblivion has better theming; it intimidates you just looking at it; not only because of the ride itself, but because of the surroundings. It doesn't matter if a ride is better than the original, Oblivion will ALWAYS be the original. Even after it's eventually taken down, its legacy will live on.
Have to agree with this. I live 1 hour from alton and the ride being so exposed on the side of the hill and the drop being mostly outside makes it much better. And the fact the queue was shorter than walk on all day!
I'm Taiwanese, too! I have the same thought as you have However, Taiwan is not a "big enough" country and it is always a difficult thing to build one more theme park here, Janfusun is excellent, and it often takes some new idea to attract us!! Also,I hope that TPR really had a nice time in Taiwan=) Expect for your coming next time!!
I can never find the answer to this anywhere, but is the "clang" noise at 2:53 one set of the wheels (because I know there is one set on top, one on the sides and one on the bottom) re-connecting with the track? Im quite eager to know what it is.
yeah, he let the car falling down, just the connection with the electricity, and the clang is the connection with the power again, so the car can drive further away ;) i know it from myself, and hello I'm a 13 year old girl from holland (actually the netherlands ;) )
All people say “oh this ride makes it seen how big oblivion actually is” This ride still looks small and has a shallow drop to me, there are dive coasters taller than 200 ft
I like how this ride really does show how big Oblivion's drop is, as it's larger than most people think. By the way, do you all shout "Don't Look Down!" on all Dive coasters like G5 and Oblivion TPR? I do!
Many of us actually agreed we liked this version much better. The lack of most of it being enclosed and also being up on a cliff really added to the OH SHIT factor to the ride. Sorry, Alton fanboys, but Oblivion has been shown up!
Taiwanese and Japanese theme parks actually look really fun! Well since it's my dream to visit those two countries, I think it's time to fast track my Japanese and Mandarin studies.
Basically a BTEC Oblivion but much taller. I imagine this was made by the same manufacturer that made oblivion, but instead they made it higher due to the fact Alton Towers aren't allowed to build above tree top level
PlatinumEagleStudio's what the actual fuck? This is why no one outside of America likes Americans. Most Americans don’t even like America. Grow up and grow a pair
I feel so touched by these viedos. There's G5, Insane Speed, UFO, Dark Ride, Big Air Gravity Max,and Space Mountain. You made the BEST coaster pov in Taiwan. If add Screaming Condor and Mayan Adventure,it will be more complete.:)
I'm from taiwan and the whole grade 6 on our school had a graduational trip and we came to this place. This place is actually in TaiChung if you wanna go to this place and there's alot of scary rides here including the roller coaster where you will go around or 360° and that one is called G5. The roller coaster i rode is floorless coaster. You can also ride the Turbo Drop, The Whirlwind and more!
For a start, the g5 layout is more oval shape than oblivious circular layout. The turn at the top if the lift is a tighter angle and so is the fan turn after the drop. The fan turn is also less banked than oblivious and just look at the turn back into the station. In g5, it looks like a 40 degree turn at most. Oblivious is verging on 70-80 degrees.
This is practically identical to Oblivion and oblivion is my favourite dive machine even though it is short and isn't the biggest it has an intimidating presence unlike sheikra, griffon, valravn etc. It has decent Theming a great soundtrack and dropping into a black hole is a superb experience and Is just more exciting than the others I've been on which are the ones I just mentioned and even when yukon striker is open it will have to do a pretty good job to beat oblivion in my opinion. btw I'm not a towers fan boy I've only been twice I just enjoy oblivion more than most.
Talk about a low budget coaster. It is like going back to the days of the original corkscrew at Geauga Lake where you get one element then back to the station.
made by the same people as Griffon and SheiKra in the US, except on those 2 there are 3 rows of seats on the cars to carry more passengers at one time. Would have liked to have seen the 2nd part of the ride to further compare.
The prototype layouts (this and Oblivion at Alton Towers) had different wheel assemblies that weren't able to handle other elements. With the later gen versions starting with Sheikra, they were able to redesign the bogies to handle more substantial layouts.
This reminds me of when I was a kid and wanted to get an electric model train and track. When I opened it up for Christmas, I found it came with a simple oval track because a bigger set was too expensive. We had plans to buy more track and make a huge layout, but that never happened. I guess the park owners who bought this coaster couldn't afford the bigger set either... ;-)
Well look at intamin. Compare intmidator 305 with millenium force. very diffrent track design, but the layout itself is definitly intamin. same deal here. although the tracks imo look almost identical. maybe some superficial diffrences. but pretty much the same.
Does any vertical coaster have very high vertical drops that are then followed by vertical uphills? And then, some more of each? Being a RCT fan, I just have to ask this since that's always how I build them in the game.
Also, the curve is MUCH higher above the ground in this version than Oblivion. Instead of there being a ground hill after the tunnel, the ground drops even more.

Makes you realise just how big oblivions drop actually is
Ya, I remember being pretty shocked when I went and looked it up. Definitely did not know it was that big.
It's funny just watching everyone in the comments saying they copied oblivion. B&M have the right to sell anyone who is interested in it this design. It's just like going round suing every park that has a vekoma boomerang or slc because they "copied it from another park".
Thank god. Some people know the truth.
PossesedShadow ...and other people can't handle the truth.
Still, the original looks way better. Better themed, better atmosphere, etc.
Matthew Connelly *OR A WILD MOUSE*
And how many locals in either Taiwan or England even know that their coaster was "copied"?
its weird how big the drop looks compared to oblivion but you forget that this was exactly the same as oblivion its just that half of oblivion is underground. its weird to think oblivion is that big.
wish they'd gone 20ft bigger with oblivion then it would be a hypercoaster
I wonder if B&M ever considered essentially "scaling up" the drop another 20ft to get that classification, if not for the original (which already had to dig quite deep enough to be that big a drop with the Alton Towers restrictions) then for clones at other parks without them? Presumably there'd have needed to be some other reprofiling at the bottom to keep the vertical Gs in check with the added speed...
This is a good way to see how big Oblivion actually is. With Oblivion being half underground you don’t really get a sense of how big it is, while here you can.
Would be funny on those vertical dive coasters if they stop before the drop for a 3-2-1 countdown, but release you after 3.
That's the valraven at cedar point
I would pass out

Nothing will be as great as Oblivion at Alton Towers
Edit: B&M are aloud to sell this design over and over again, But come on, Oblivion was a 1st!
Shortest rollercoaster ever?
Need to check oblivion Alton towers
yes😒
+SgtGo Check Krake in Heide Park Resort
+Zyntos - Ignite your Spark Krake is also very short, but I think this coaster is shorter ^^

I love this because it shows you just how much of Oblivion is actually underground, some people think the hole isn't that deep - it is :D
Wow, 13 seconds of actual ride time? What's the point?
well its because of that huge drop thats why and feeling the speed and everything i guess
+Maria Rios I what alternate reality is Superman at Six Flags Magic Mountain popular????
Oblivion is 7
+Maria Rios Superman at SFMM launch is 7 seconds. Not total ride time.

I agree its my favourite coaster before the smiler and apparantly the ride is faster than rita
The rollercoaster in my country at De Efteling is called Baron 1898, its also a diving machine but when you dive you get wet in a tunnel
It's a mini dive coaster with a smaller drop
No matter how many times I go on Oblivion at Alton Towers, I always get scared 😂
oml same
I personally think that oblivion is the scariest ride there and I've been on all of them
DON'T LOOK DOWN!!!!

Zoe Reker Um....this doesn't answer my question.
but... it is the sound it makes...
Most roller coasters rely on a simple chain hill to start and then it is nothing but gravity, electrics has nout to do with this.
It's the chain dog bouncing back and forth
All people say “oh this ride makes it seen how big oblivion actually is”
This ride still looks small and has a shallow drop to me, there are dive coasters taller than 200 ft
Okay I'm getting annoyed by this:

I love watching these videos because I can go on the ride without puking all over the place ( I have a very weak stomach on rides.)

Really goes to show how much of Oblivion is underground.
Taiwanese and Japanese theme parks actually look really fun! Well since it's my dream to visit those two countries, I think it's time to fast track my Japanese and Mandarin studies.
They really had to end it there. That's a really big buzz kill.
Griffon at Busch Gardens is still the best diving machine and still the record holder for the tallest and two inversions
Shiekra is better.
+Will Keene (willygorilla) valravn will soon break all dive coaster records
sheikra and griffon is basically the same ride just different color

Just wait until Valravn comes out ;)
Basically a BTEC Oblivion but much taller. I imagine this was made by the same manufacturer that made oblivion, but instead they made it higher due to the fact Alton Towers aren't allowed to build above tree top level
The difference in the drop height is less than 2 meters. Oblivion seems smaller because more of it is underground.
They need fog machines in the tunnel at the bottom.
That famous English pun "oh jolly jolly jolly" ?!?!
On the drop I actually felt it
I love how happy roller coasters make people haha they are fun!!
as a taiwanese, i find this comment section's offensive. Why is everybody think Taiwan is part of japan????

you just experience 5 g-force lol. i miss this place, i was afraid of height but i was willing to face my fear for the experience.
They have made exact same as Oblivion at Alton Towers
No. It's completely different

For a start, the g5 layout is more oval shape than oblivious circular layout. The turn at the top if the lift is a tighter angle and so is the fan turn after the drop. Very very similar to the ride 'oblivion' at Alton Towers. I've been on oblivion, and it's awesome!
Oblivion is the crapiest ride at alton, too short IMO, prefer nemesis
@@LinkAdams it’s probably short because it was the first b&m dive, ik this was nine years ago idk if you have changed your opinion but still
Could they not afford the post drop immelman?
The prototype layouts (this and Oblivion at Alton Towers) had different wheel assemblies that weren't able to handle other elements. With the later gen versions starting with Sheikra, they were able to redesign the bogies to handle more substantial layouts.

I really wish I could ride this ride! ITS SO COOL!!!!!!
If you live in england, this exact same rollercoaster is at alton towers just most of the drop is underground
to short
Thanks Robb, for uploading!
That's a remake of oblivion at alton towers it's saying is don't look down what a copy
account surname It's made by the same company who own the rights to the layout you absolute melt.

Its a larger version of Oblivion at Alton Towers!
Actually, plus or minus a few feet, they're the same size. Oblivion just seems smaller since more of the ride is underground.
Alton towers better
It's the same ride just a different color scheme
Not quite. The whole at Alton Towers is darker and appears deeper.

When oblivion goes to asia for a vacation, this is what it wears

Does any vertical coaster have very high vertical drops that are then followed by vertical uphills? And then, some more of each? Being a RCT fan, I just have to ask this since that's always how I build them in the game.
None. Most follow an inversion right after the drop or a turn like the one that this coaster & Oblivion does.
I rode this in Taiwan. I was in front row.
1:46 that is a beautiful view
Also, the curve is MUCH higher above the ground in this version than Oblivion. Instead of there being a ground hill after the tunnel, the ground drops even more.
Great ride - great filming & angles. What is that beautiful ferris wheel ride in the background? Would love to see it lit up at night.
