- “Phenomenon of Man - Teilhard de Chardin” is a video encapsulation of de Chardin's spiritual philosophy, produced by Pam Brooks and Jim Abell. Teilhard de Chardin (1881 - 1955) was a French philosopher and Jesuit priest who trained as a paleontologist and geologist and took part in the discovery of Peking Man. In his masterpiece, "The Phenomenon of Man”, he postulates man as situated in an evolving universe, describing the evolutionary process of matter, life, thought and mind as originating from a oneness that has an evolutionary purpose. It appears that Teilhard de Chardin did, indeed, come to the same philosophical understanding as did Sri Aurobindo. This video has been downloaded from the withinfilm youtube channel and is presented as an aid for Westerners to understand Sri Aurobindo.
Alan Watts suggested this book in one of his speeches, then I searched and have found this! This is really and truly Amazing. I loved every word of it and will listen to this as much as I can. Thanks a million for sharing this. Also I will try to buy this book. ❤️❤️

My thesis in college was about the Phenomenon of Man and the Threshold of Man's Phenomenon of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. a Jesuit priest and a paleontologist.
I bought the book after watching this- the images are beautiful and really help the watcher integrate the words!
Actually, this wasn't produced by Pam Brooks and Jim Abell. It's a filmstrip that was created in the 1970s by a nonprofit organization called "The Phenomenon of Man Project". The narrator is (now the late) Lew Ayres. I was a member of the Project back in The Day... we traveled around extensively back then, presenting this program.

Reading Sarah Appleton-Weber newer translation of...The Human Phenomenon by Teilhard...these pictures help me wrap my mind around his thoughts.
One can use this philosophy for sharpening his critical thinking faculties.
Rudolf Steiner said all of this and more in his lectures and book’s starting in early 1900’s. De Chardin does what Steiner says we need to do- develop a spiritual science. Jesus told us to love one another as we as Christian’s r taught- but what is missing is Jesus Christ as a cosmic force- we see some of these thoughts here. Spiritual world is infinitely bigger than the material world- humans need to develop higher level of consciousness to see it.

For your approval: Teilhard de Chardin was right about many of the assumptions he had theorized. I'm not sure if he recognized what my discoveries have led me to conclude though. Thomas Jefferson had predicted this moment as well. Jefferson created a living Government based on the Foundation of OUR country's Democratic Republic. From my studies, all the signs point to our children as the inheritors of our efforts for the perfect union. Jefferson recognized one major hurdle, and that was accountability, which is provided by our children while reinforcing our infrastructure, while they grow. The key to Chardin's idea behind the evolution of his theory is to pursue your destiny, as a way to maintain a healthy infrastructure. By having children chasing their dreams, they will stimulate our economy. This creates tax revenue, and the only thing a government needs to survive is a tax base to maintain a healthy infrastructure. All our children need to pursue their dreams is a healthy infrastructure.

I think Teilhard had a very deep insight, but it has not been well articulated.

Thank you for helping me review this complexity theory of this phenomenon MAN- WOMAN. I have been reading chardin for a long time and i always thought this book was for the future - i haven copies to my sons - though i am sure they haven’t got te around to read-as i am considerate a crazy mom.
Anyway -i always had difficulty with these first chapters - thanks for making it a bit clearer and with your cute drawings.

If one believes the first action, a, or the, beginning ' the big bang theory ' then this and the evolution process is an acceptable conclusion, but there are no proofs of the so called 'singularity' or 'big bang' only conjecture and speculative conclusions. I say life is perpetual motion unbeginning unending beginnings and endings, a conscious physical memory of function and experience perpetually incomplete, perpetually indeterminate, perpetually uncertain in perpetual motion. The single cell is a conscious physical memory of function and experience in eternal returnity, it has to be, it has always existed this way or else there would be no life/ existence or cosmos.
On the thought or thinking or the conscious meta-phisical memory of function and experience is 'cogitor ergo sum ', " I am thought therefore I am " and the link between is conscious memory. The self or the " I am " is present always, but recognition of this is only at rest alone or in sleep, the rest of one's being is self 'ish, a collective of " I am's " (sic) to meet the rest of one's collective sentient beings in conscious cognitive behaviour.
