Ronnie treated the fans with class ...I can affirm that
A great loss. He is still deeply missed after all these years.😥
Very articulate and eloquent.
*There is just NOBODY like him.*
He's my favorite metal singer and singer in general of all time. I love the Black Sabbath albums with him, always have, but I do agree with Ozzy now, before i didn't. It was a big difference in sound to where it sounded like 2 different bands.
Looking back now, perhaps they should have just called themselves. Heaven and Hell when Heaven and Hell was released after Ozzy departed because, then there would have been Black Sabbath and Heaven and Hell. I think that would have been cool 😎
@@foxxshorrorside9923 True.
Come to think of it, Mike G (editor of Metal Maniacs magazine) once said in an article that Black Sabbath should have just called it quits back in '75. But RJD picked up the pieces and gave the band a brand new life.
Rest in Peace, Dio.
Your voice will just make anyone stand up and fight against their sorrows. It did that magic on me.
Beautiful my friend !
I was privilleged to meet RJD almost 30 years ago, he was warm, genuine, appreciative of his fans, I could go on forever. We miss you Ronnie, yout voice, your integrity, your warmth. We'll never forget you, the greatest singer of all time.
A man of principle. The most loyal front man to their fans period.
RONNIE, Is the light in the darkness, and he was and is an old soul, he was far ahead of everyone and he knew exactly how it all worked
He’s the light in the black
Ronnie speaks from the heart, such a beautiful soul!
Wonder what his soul is doing now🔥
One of the greatest frontmen of all time
super friendly
Hands down a legend.
Tiniest *
@@charlibiris not the stature of a man, it's his powerful voice. Layne was a twig during the drug addiction and still fucking brought it Sully Erna is shorter but had a powerful voice.
It's not the size of a man, it's the size of the fight (or in this case, talent) of a man. 😊
@@charlibiris So what? Randy Rhoads was a smaller guy too, and was the baddest guitarist around. Still is after death.
the little dude with the big pipes. I still miss him.
Me too. I was in the hospital when he passed. I had been in there for 2 months at one place and came home went back to another one for 2 weeks. It was like 4 months afterwards when I found out he passed. Watched That Metal Show one Saturday night, I must have been dozing, heard one of them say,
The late, great, Ronnie James Dio.
I sat up straight up in bed. I said WTH.
It was a shock.
I love how Ronnie always stood up for what he believed in and didn’t bullshit anyone!!
Something lacking in the present days
I’m four minutes into this. I wish Ronnie would have been able to write a biography, then do the audio recording. He’s so articulate and listening to him is oddly relaxing.
A book by him would of been awesome.
Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Dio were huge bands. I still love listening to them today
Same here. I been fan since high school days. Well? Some I heard as kid. Didn't became a fan until high school
RIP Legend 🫡
met Dio back in 85 or 86 he was cool , gave me an a friend tickets to sold out show right before he went on stage getting off his tour bus with two hot blonds at his sides phx Az
i love and miss you. . A true heavy metal legend. . And a great human being . . Elf. . Rainbow. . Black Sabbath. . DIO. . All great bands here. . The metal god. . Ronnie James Dio. . Rest in peace brother. . Gone but never forgotten. . HORNS up. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I have seen hundreds of shows, and Dio was one of the best frontmen ever. He had a magical way to connect with his audience.
Dio has rocked, for a long long time...
It’s interesting how RJD said at the end something to the effect that metal is looked down on by professors and teachers. I remember this in high school. But now I am a professor and Dio is on my “get pumped” for lecture playlist.
It has changed a lot since back in the 80´s, i remember it well, we were the outcasts and most of the grown ups looked down on heavy metal and thought it was dangerous and whatnot. Metal is much more accepted nowdays, but now im the grown up in my 50´s and back in the 80´s i was in my teens so its not surpricing.
It was better when it was considered dangerous. Great times Back then. In contrast to today you have to behave a certain way or talk a certain way. God I wished I could Time Machine myself back to those times. 🙏
Academics hate "masculine-coded" art and consider it pulp. It's a very old ideological bias in the institutions and critical spheres.
@@sdjslkdjlsskldjslkdjsl8262 hmmmm. Not sure I completely agree (being an academic myself) but I think I know what you mean.
Meet him! R.I.P.!
RIP ANGEL 😇
Hes in hell
@@katjay3125You go to hell!!
So genuine. So talented. Such a loss.
I want as many people as possible to know about this man with a great heart. That's why I comment and like everything about him.
The small man with a big voice!
Like an Eazy E. Lol.
I love Ronnie James Dio. R.I.P such a good musician.
Well spoken man,incredible talent ❤
Such a well spoken and intelligent man. Long live the king! 🤘
RIP legend 🫡
Dio is so incredibly intelligent absolutely well spoken and clear about what he believes , I love listening to his interviews, absolutely brilliant artist one of the greatest front man absolutely amazing singer and songwriter
RJD was a once in a lifetime talent im so glad i got the chance to see him sing live nobody has come close to his level
Yeah he truly was one of a kind and nobody else ever sounded like him. I got to see him live as well a number of times, the first one in 1987.
I've been stuck on DIO Holy Diver Live for months!!!
I can't imagine my life without the voice of Ronnie James Dio! ❤
Ronnie is THE vocalist every metal vocalist should aspire to.
Greatly missed & appreciated & I like many still wish he was still here.
This man always spoke like a true gentleman, very truthful person, thank you for your talent Mr.DIO,may GOD rest your soul
The best...
Love Ronnie James Dio ❤️ RIP your music 🎶 lives on forever xx
An actual rock legend saying it’s all about the team
Brilliant speaker and singer.
Every weekend I toast a beer to DIO and people close to me that have passed, I have done this for years. Thank you for this video.
Dio is the King!
Still miss this dude
Smart man.
RIP Ronnie 🙏.
Greetings from Poland 🇵🇱
Widziałem H&H w Warszawie, tego samego dnia w Chorzowie występowały popłuczyny po Genesis!
When mainstream media interviews Dio they must have been Surprised because he was very Articulate & could carry a conversation. Ronnie was by no means stupid by any stretch of The imagination. 🤘
The world kind of sucks without him
Ronnie had Righteous Foresight, while everyone else was blinded by Money, success and Alcohol, which droe a wedge, i have way more respect for Ronnie, he was the Light
alcohol killed dio 😬
Ronnie sat with Lemmy ❤❤
And Joey! ⚔
Ronnie🤟i was born too late.i still learning your technique everyday.because of you i also listen mario lanza.may u rest in peace sir,god bless u.
A class act!!!!! Love DIO. Rainbow, Black Sabbath, DIO.....no matter the outlet he was such a great front Man.
I watch Ronnies interviews when im stressed. I find his voice relaxing, and reassuring. I've done this for years.
What a legend.
What a legend!
The best vocalist I've EVER seen. Articulate, sane, mind-blowing. We miss you, Ronnie❤
3:43 He was so pissed off.
Yet, so humble. Just a wonderful human being
I love how you can see the anger comes from respect, though. I mean, he literally said they had the potential to be the greatest band there ever was. I think he's frustrated with how much wasted talent was in Sabbath
I heard Ronnie was a really nice guy
Sounded like it
A magnificent singer and human being RIP Ronnie ❤🙏👍🙏🎸🎹🎹🥁
I have so much more respect for Ronnie after this compilation
I miss him and his music so much.
I've seen a lot of people's comments about Ronnie's songwriting of the years saying he just throws words together that seem to have a lot of meaning but they don't. And, he really never explains his lyrics, usually leaves it up to interpretation, as it should be. The meaning of lyrics is best to apply to yourself and they can be greatly relatable to your own life. If you hear the writer's meanings, they can take that song away from you if you related to them before. There are a lot of Easter eggs in these interviews as well to his meanings. But, he didn't ruin it for you. He gave a lot of insight to Strange Highways in this video and that's one of my favorites.
You said a mouthful. I've always felt that about music. Let the lyrics mean what they mean to you.
R.I.P. ❤ He was one of a kind!
"He's the king of rock & roll......!" RIP RJD, Jimmy Bain, Cozy P.🤘
There is a reason I named my youngest son Dio
Cool name but your poor son is going to have to deal with a LOT of JoJo fans
@@Miss_Kisa94 nah… it’s deeper than that. And what the hell Jojo has to do with RJD?
His name is actually Ozzy Dio… cuz in my perfect world they’d coincide and live in harmony but Ozzy was too much of a whack job at the time. Oh well! Sabbath forever!!! 😂
@@mOnStErMACEO there's a pretty popular character in the anime named Dio. I think it's actually the main villain but don't quote me on that because I don't watch it myself.
I honestly only knew Dio from The Pick of Destiny and it led me to this vid. The way he clearly and eloquently expresses his opinions, what a legend.
Same. But as kid I always try to remember his name and what he looks like and wasn't until high school because of a series. And that how I found Ronnie James dio again and been a fan since high school because of that and pick of d. And his voice is majesty as ozzy and many others as well
RJD WAS A THINKING MAN'S SINGER ... WHAT A GIFT HE WAS ....LITERALLY ONE OF THE COOLEST DUDES TO EVER TAKE A STAGE ...
Took me a minute to recognize Lemmy at the end. He looked so weird without his facial hair.
It looked like he was wearing eye liner
Fantastic singer
Ronnie was completely right in everything he said in this video.
What an intelligent man. A career like no other, and a voice that made the entire crowd Stand Up And Shout.
Na minha opinião, Dio é o melhor vocalista do heavy metal! Nunca haverá outro! Suas músicas viveram pra sempre!!
RJD was probably the best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal singer ever. Him and Rob Halford. Saw him in his early Sabbath run, solo career and in the reunion tour as "Heaven and Hell!" This guy could belt out a tune like no other. RIP Ronnie, we really miss you!
This dude is a smart and classy guy
I've always liked Dio...and Ozzy. They both speak their minds. What you see is what you get.👍
The man was an absolute legend. And I think, if he were to hear me on this moment, me saying "we shouldn't be sad that he's gone, but happy that we've experienced his music."
Because I think that's what he'd want, for us to look at the full discography, see his skill and be blessed at listening to it.
A great man, an amazing singer, entertainer, logical man. What a loss, gone far too soon.
why did this brilliant man had to die? :(
I watched the documentary on Dio. It was so cool he remembered a fan 10 years later
Most of all Dio is Truth. To his music, to his fans. A class act with the voice of a God!
A beautiful soul.
He could read the phone book to me and I would still listen to it. 😂
Genuine talent always great towards the fans
He is soo right
Best voice of all times and ever ❤
Ronnie James DIO my great hero A wonderful man Singer so kind Deeply missed ❤️🙏
True artist poet and gentleman.
4:05-4:14 😂. That being said, I'm glad I got to see Heaven and Hell about a year before Dio passed. They were great together.
The father of our genre!
04:12 agreed. R.I.P. Ronnie
RJD was a truly great frontman, and a class act. Rest In Power!!!🤘🤘🤘
DIO was so good Rainbow, Black Sabbath & YES DIO all of his band was so good. What a vice !!!
Dio is the reason we say short king now
When you're true to yourself, you can be honest to others. That's what RJD has taught me. Integrity is not easy in the face of adversity.
Dio was awesome 👌 👏
That voice!!!
PROFESSOR RONNIE JAMES DIO YOU LEARN SOMETHING EVERYTIME HE SPEAKS ON ANYTHING WHEN HE IS GIVNG A INTERVIEW OR LISTEN TO HIS LYRICS HE HAD A GIFT ON BEING A TEACHER HE EVEN SAID IN 1987 INTERVIEW HE LIKES TO MAKE PEOPLE THINK GREAT VOCALIST AND GREAT LYRICIST REST IN PEACE RONNIE JAMES DIO JULY 10 1942 MAY 16 2010 LONG LIVE ROCK & ROLL FOREVER
That gave me a fever. It scratched my soul. He IS the King of Rock and Roll. I'll rub my genie lamp...wish he was still alive, and wish he and Ritchie Blackmore never parted ways. (Nothing against Iommi, love him, but Blackmore is guitar God and Dio vocal God in my pantheon.)
It was meant to be. The Rainbow style of rock would’ve badly dated by the turn of 10:37 the eighties. Hence Blackmore going in a more commercial
Direction. Dio wanted none of that. Iommi and him
We’re the perfect pair at that time. IMHO
He always comes across as a level-headed, intelligent guy. I don't get the sense that he's full of shit like so many of his peers.
whats that last interview with Lem in it? wheres that from and can you see that somewhere?
He’s a rock God he even has God in his name
Many people say Freddy Mercury was the greatest voice but Ronnie James Dio must be the close second.
Geff Tate better then both of them✌️
Dio will always be number one to me.
@10:25 Look at (I think that is) Eric Edams. He is really engrossed in what Ronnie is saying here about fan loyalty. You can tell he is taking those words in (from his metal senpai). And, I think he applied that to his own band because Manowar is another band with really loyal fans (and they are often mentioned in songs).
It’s Joey DeMaio. Probably from the Monsters of the Millennium tour (Dio, Motörhead, Manowar).
Dio didn't seem to be an easy person to be with as well
Had the privilege to see him live over 20 times 🤘🤘🤘
