In the Philippines fried chitterlings are called Bulaklak and they puff up like pork skins. They're served as a bar snack in the Philippines like peanuts are placed on the bar for people to each while drinking beer or whatever.
@@cookingrillinwiththejohnsons oh wow! Well welcome to the G-SQUAD!! I hope you enjoy the content bear with us as we edit and upload as quick as possible.
That bag chitterlings is a rip off from walmart, because it's 2lbs of frozen water. The buckets are the best. They require more cleaning, but you get more in the end.
미국의 돼지 내장요리 맛이 궁금하군요!! 한국에서도 돼지 내장을 많이 먹습니다. 잘 봤습니다. I'm curious about the taste of American pork intestines!! In Korea, pork intestines are also eaten a lot. Nice video.
My mother in law used to make chitlins. She used a little bleach to clean them. All I can say is I had to stay outside while they cooked cuz they still had that distinctive poop smell 😅😅
Yes the smell is real however using the potato and cleaning them very well will cut the odor eventually it'll just start smelling like maws or pork bones
Adding the correct spices takes away the odor. My Grandmother also soaked them, refrigerated, for four days after cleaning. She also went over them daily, always finding a bit of fat that was missed in first cleaning. The water was changed daily, also!I have never eaten one, and don’t ever intend to! I know that very few people were as meticulous as my Grandmother about preparing organ meat.
@@marymargaretblumhorst5359 I'm with you, which is why I don't eat them. In this video, Chef LaWanda teaches you how to get rid of the smell. Thanks for watching.
Yes ma'am. Feces carry bacteria so the whole chitterlings is affected. Keep the lining..you eat it on sausages, hot dogs, etc...just clean them thoroughly. Boil for 10 minutes Pour off the water at least 2 times. Then season and cook 3 to 4 hours.
That was the purpose of the video, to show you how to clean/cook them. By the time they were going to be cooked, yes, they were clean Thanks for watching!
Hey there! Thank you for comment. Here is a bit of clarity: Hog maw is the stomach of a pig prepared as food. More specifically, it is the exterior muscular wall of the stomach organ (with interior, lining mucosa removed) which contains no fat if cleaned properly. It can be found in American, Soul Food, Chinese, Pennsylvania Dutch, Mexican, Portuguese, Italian and Vietnamese dishes. In addition, it can be prepared in various ways including stewed, fried, baked, and broiled.
