Kind of sad. Lived in this area for 38 years and these vids made me sad and happy at the same time. Always be home to me. Thank you and I Appriciate your vids.
Thanks for this. I am an avid cyclist & one of those who left California. San Pedro and Rancho Palos Verdes were my favorite places to bike. The house build-up in Palso Verdes was crazy. I remember when all that was vacant land from the lighthouse East&West. Like you, I also thought of living in San Pedro. What a unique community. U lived in LA but u didn't feel like it until u got on to the Harbor frwy😒 . Thanks for the memories.
Fun Fact, many years ago, there was a Marineland type aquarium along that coast. The original 60s sitcom Beverly Hillbillies filmed an episode there. You can still find it on Google Earth (or at least the abandoned property) when you use the history setting.
My old haunts, covered almost 100% on this ride! The landslide area right after the video ends used to be a place I'd park and walk my dog. The chapel is where I'd go for a peaceful rest. San Pedro (sometimes the friendship bell, more often the beach) is where I'd go for lunch and now my son lives there. The bridges are where I'd drive when my sons were babies, to lull them to sleep. I miss the South Bay and Long Beach, but I sure don't miss the traffic! That new bridge is gorgeous!
This was tour was very meaningful to me. I spent summer of '73 in that area as a college student on working vacation. My relatives lived in San Pedro/Rancho Palos Verdes. Back then, the smog was terrible. My eyes teared all the time. So, lately, I've been watching reruns of Adam-12 which was filmed back then. The smog is documented in those episodes. However, your video tour reveals that the smog has been also eliminated. How wonderful for aviation and living in general. Thanks for the tour!
Thank you Micah for the fly over Palos verdes!!!! My old stomping grounds. I would stop at the Fish and Chips place in PV and drive out to where Marine Land once was. There I would eat my Fish and Chips!! It night, I would take my fish and and sit in the Rolling Hill HS stadium and watch the planes come into LAX!!! Again thanks for doing this great flyover.
Thank you for flying over San Pedro. I have never been there, but had a relative that lived there for many years. I had heard so much about it. Awesome, high quality video as usual. Thank you Micah! I hope your move went well.
I went by helicopter from long beach to Catalina about 19 years ago. Such an amazing, memorable day. Hope I can do it again one day. Thanks for the vid.
Super cool low flight Micah. Watching the marine layer brings me a lot of memories when flying to Santa Catalina Island for the 100 dollars burger, yes the Buffalos' burger. Avalon is the only place i miss from Cali. Now I fly in NC and I enjoy flying in the countryside.
9:28 It would have been awesome if you flown over the Sunken City just off the coast before the friendship bell. Cool spot on the ground I can only imagine how it looks in the air. Amazing video However!
I will miss your flights from Long Beach but look very forward to your new adventures!! Thank you for taking us along for the ride, I love hearing the comms as well..
What a nice flight! As you were saying how nice it would be to be on the beach eating a sandwich, I was in fact eating sandwich and thinking how nice it would be to be on the beach! I liked the ocean mist, it added some interest, even if it did block out the Lighthouse! Thanks, stay well:-)
I heard you on the radio a few days ago and reminded me to come check the channel and didn't expect to see your last episode out of Long Beach. Looking forward to seeing more from the new airport, hopefully you'll continue to do more from this side of the city.
Every frame is an eye candy !! Amazing shots Micah !!! I realy enjoy your videos on my 4k Monitor . I also screenshot and make wallpapers for my PC ..!!
Always love your videos I was born in Los Angeles but was raised here in Maryland and your videos always put a smile on my face especially during these weird times so thank you 😊
In Step Brothers, Adam Scott's character refers to the Catalina Wine Mixer as "the biggest helicopter-leasing event in the Western Hemisphere since 1997." :o) I love your videos of the CA coastline because I'm on the Eastern coastline. The "Yup" to the Wayfara Chapel is funny and I didn't know that it was built by Lloyd Wright, and is known as the "Glass Church." (I guess this could be the first installment of "Micah History")
What I love about making these videos is that folks like you help flesh out the stories of what I'm flying over. I wasn't aware of teh chapel's backstory. Very cool!
@@MicahMuzio The Chapel was also in the closing scenes of "innerspace" with Dennis Quaid and Martin Short. The credits rolled over aerial shots of Martin Short chasing bad guys along P.V. drive.
next time get a weather report and film on a clesarer day. Trump golf is on site of the Marineland, Where the original orca "shamu" was housed the park was closed in the 1970s
Hi, John. I asked Flying Eyes and this was their response. "All of the Flying Eyes frames are prescription compatible. The best way to get your prescription filled in them is to order the frames you like, make sure they fit the way you want, and take those to any optician who can make a curved lens. You can also find opticians who have already worked with Flying Eyes glasses on the “Find a store” section of the website. If you have any more questions please feel free to contact the team at support@flyingeyesoptics.com or call during business hours at (512)213-2390 and let them know Micah sent you."
Fun Fact San Pedro is not its own city it is a neighborhood in The City Of Los Angeles. Also Mike Watt YESSSS punk rock legend since we are a LA punk band
@@MicahMuzio Welcome to the IE, Micah! Maybe fly over the Temecula Wine Country, Mt. San Jacinto, Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead, Lake Gregory and Lake Silverwood now? Not to mention the 1,000 of golf courses in Palm Springs, Coachella Valley!
@@MicahMuzio I really liked your home in Long Beach. I hope you are still with KBB. Also, I apologize for my ignorance, but does one need to change their airplane/helicopter license when they change hubs?
That is an excellent question. 🤦♂️ My only excuse is that my brain has been saturated with moving and a zillion other things. Pretty big oversight though. Guess I'll have to fly back to the port to correct my error.
Somehow I completely overlooked the USS Iowa. 🤦♂️ Anything else you would've like to see on this tour?
Is it possible to go out to Catalina island?
finally, my request for palos verdes! thanks so much!
you passed a couple points of interest The LA Harbor Fireboat house "right by the VT bridge" and of course where Marineland of the pacific once was.
@@raulg9129 This year has been crazy but I’m still chipping away at all those requests. 😁
Yes Please, IOWA. Spent 6+ years restoring her to museum shape. Awesome aerials. Thank you!
To me, this ENTIRE region is the PENULTIMATE VFR pleasure flight. Thanks, Micah!!!!!!
Micah = extremely good looks. The man is perfection in my looks book.
I hope you're a woman lol
@@MrMentalSoul I don’t think it should matter, it’s a complement. I personally see nothing wrong with it.
Micah, Micah, Micah. You did the bridge totally wrong. You’re supposed to fly under it, not over it. Safe flying my friend.

Micah - Any chance of a helicopter tour of one of the greatest films of all time, Heat? Since it was filmed in and around LA this would be a treasure.

Every time I hear someone say Long Beach , I hear the intro to monster garage. It has been ingrained in my soul
good to see open areas on the beach
you should do another fly over Disneyland and DCA - it would definiitely help bring viewers back and spike viewing numbers!! Keep up the good work

Love to eat In N Out Burger while looking at the ocean! That counts, right?
I love Long Beach! My Aunty lives there. Great place and another great video. That shipping/train yard was awesome!
SWA pilot here. Never been in a fixed-wing aircraft. I’d love to tag along for a ride next time I’m in SoCal! Love the Cali videos and car reviews!
I love your vids.. keep doing you
Thanks, Choppa!!
The best sandwich place in So Cal is Busy Bee in San Pedro. Everyday at noon, the line is out the door.
Beautiful tour. We lived in PVE and San Pedro for many years. Do miss the ocean, but much happier here...about 80 miles east.
beautiful...and fascinating video. thanks Micah

Great to meet you at the Flying Tigers FBO last weekend. Give me a buzz once you get settled and we can grab a cup on the mountain.
The USS Iowa is in Long Beach , CA Mary Babiec Pawtucket , Rhode Island
Sounds like fire planes on your frequency. Pretty cool :)
Good tour with one exception...you didn’t highlight USS Iowa!
Thanks. This is great stuff, with the border basically being closed and me otherwise just seeing the parts of Norway where I live.
