Very belated comment, but I just want to thank you for this excellent guide. Bloody perfect! I just took possession of a 2002 jackaroo - a snorkel, rear view camera and a second fuel tank is on the list, so the snorkel is about to be ticked off. Cheers.
I bought one of those eBay snorkels that was supposed to fit the 4JX1 but as you say, it is for the petrol engine. I complained, threatened the guy with a repair bill for the damage and got my money back and they let me keep the snorkel because I'd cut the car but, it still took me ages to get it to fit like it did for you but all is good now.
Hey mate, one part you left out is the only part I'm having dramas with. The connection between the outer snorkel (the visible part on the outside) and the inner connector inside the wheel arch. I have an identical kit, and there is no real "seal" between them. If I run the large bolt through from the outside, it connects to the inner part, but there's an airgap because it's just plastic into plastic. If you get the chance can you show me what you did there? Again it's the only part you glazed over on an otherwise great video, and the only part I ever had any drama with. Cheers, Rob
Sorry for the late reply. My outer piece was a tight fit but if you're worried you could use some silicon to help seal it.also so e sealant on the bolt that goes through aswell. Thanks for the comment.

Good to hear you got it in the end . Thanks for the comment
Most people just cut a 20mm section out of the inner pipe. Reconnect it and seal. Should all fit nice then
