On the other hand, they also fail to qualify for World and Euro Cups sometimes. Still, I always imagine, when a team has to face the Netherlands, they are thinking "Oh, crap! Not these guys again."

I'm italian and if I had to choose one dutch player only I would say Marco Van Basten. And, for the next generation, Joshua Zirkzee who is currently playing in my favourite team Bologna fc.

Cruyff peut raisonnablement être considéré comme un milieu de terrain tant il décrochait (comme, avant lui, Di Stefano, et dans une certaine mesure, Pelé). Krol était bien arrière gauche (il a gagné trois coupes d’Europe à ce poste et y a disputé la finale de la coupe du monde de 1974. Il est passé au centre sur le tard (comme Bossis en France). Haan ou Muhren étaient des joueurs convenables, sans plus. Rensenbrink est en revanche sous côté : il a été l’un des tout meilleurs joueurs d’Europe entre 1975/76 et 1980.
