- Every MLB team has its own unique logo which is special and meaningful to its team and city Some logos represent the history of a team. However this clueless British Guy is unaware of the meaning behind these logos and is brutally ranking them based on appearance alone.

An aussie did the same thing a few years ago and I couldnt stop laughing, he thought the phillies was named after a horse and took the name diamondbacks literally as in diamonds on your back(it was named after snake.)
Philadelphia's is the Liberty Bell, It comes from Independent Square where the Declaration of Independence the separation from King James of England occurred.
Milwaukee takes the M from Milwaukee and B from Brewers to make a baseball glove.

The Phillies logo is the Liberty Bell. It was rung in Philadelphia for hundreds of years, most famously when they completed the Declaration of Independence. It cracked in the 1800s, it's a National Monument and a big tourist attraction.

The Brewers logo is a baseball mitt with the letters M and B for Milwaukee Brewers, easily a top 5 logo for most people

One issue here is that hat logos and team logos are often different. The Rockies' CR is the hat logo, but not the main one. The Red Sox and Yankees are both known for uniform logos. The Yankees, in particular have 3 NY logos - the uniform, hat, and print are all different.
Also, the Guardians were the Indians before this year, so the list is up to date in that regard. They'll probably be more known for the C hat on the logo than the winged G as time goes on.
The Expos logo was one of the better ones! Way better than the new location in DC.

It’s a shame because the Indians logo was great. Native Americans weren’t offended by it but white liberals were so like always, they got their way.

Phillies logo is the Liberty bell, which is one of America’s oldest and most famous relics (and is housed in Philadelphia).
The old Diamondbacks logo and color scheme from the 90s was so much better I was angry when they changed it

The Milwaukee Brewers logo is their hat logo. It's actually a modern take on a classic hat logo they had
Both the old & modern logo is a baseball glove. The fingers show a lowercase "m", and the thumb is a lowercase "b". There's a baseball to full in the "b".

The Phillies logo is the Liberty Bell which has ties to the city of Philly and is a symbol of Liberty. Plus Philly is a huge for its part with Americas independence

The only logo I can tell you the meaning of is the New York Mets logo.. Buildings are all landmarks. At least one from each borough.. . the bridge represents "bridging the 5 boroughs of NYC).. and the colors honor the Brooklyn Dodgers (Blue) and New York Giants (Orange) whom the Mets replaced.
The Detroit Tigers D logo has been around for over 110 years! Reds logo has been around since at least 1919 (and probably older than that) ..Cubs, Yankees, Pirates Cardinals and Dodgers logos are all nearly 100 years old.

Pretty good rankings. I may have a few differences but generally good. I think it would be a different list if you studied some of the history and reranked them in a couple months. I.e. the bell is the Liberty Bell in Philly

The Guardians are actually a rebranding for the Cleveland Indians. People thought the Indians was offensive to some people so the changed it last season to the Guardians. So they not a old team they are actually new so that’s probably why it was hard to find them

To add to this, the logo used in the video is the current secondary logo for the team. The current primary logo is a red “C” outlined in navy blue.
Probably need the full logo designs. These are not all the real logos. These are just some of the designs for each team.
6:57 the Phillies logo is the word Phillies over the Liberty Bell which a famous Philadelphia Revolutionary War historical landmark (including the crack.) That's not trash! That may be the best logo in baseball because it highlights something unique to Philly. And I'm not even a Phillies fan, but their logo rocks.
I think this just shows that as Americans, knowing the history and significance of a teams logo latter a lot to us and has that nostalgia factor. "Old English D" baby!
As a Mets fan who’s agrees we have the best logo that Phillies one is 🔥. That’s the liberty bell. And the Brewers logo is a baseball glove that has MB making up the glove. Also 🔥. Cardinals is fire old school that never needed to be changed. And the mariners is awesome too. Love the nautical theme.

As a Mets fan, happy that you put the Mets logo as the best. So an explanation for some of the logos:
Mets: The blue skyline contains notable buildings from the five boroughs. The white bridge represents the Mets bring back National League baseball to New York as well as the many suspension bridges in the five boroughs. And the circle is actually a baseball with the orange markings being the stitches on a baseball.
Mariners: The middle is the arrows of a compass since the team was named after Seattle's association to the sea.
Guardians: This is actually the newest logo since Cleveland changed their name to the Guardians in 2022. Both the team name and logo were based on the "Guardians of Traffic" statuses on the Hope Memorial Bridge.
Brewers: The logo is the letters M and B forming a baseball glove with a baseball in the middle. It was an old logo that they recently brought back.
Phillies: The bell is the Liberty Bell. The Liberty Bell has a big crack at the front and it's been adopted as a symbol of the American Revolution.
Diamondbacks: Since the team is named after a species of snakes, the logo resembles a snake's head.
Most teams have adopted their cap insignia as their team logo, which is why most are just letters. If you want to redo this list, look up the old logos for the teams that currently use letters.
As a braves fan, I hate the mets but I will admit their logo is fucking awesome.
The Mileauee Brewers logo are the initials made up into the shape of a baseball glove.
As a New York Mets fan I have to say, while it's not my favorite logo, the Milwaukee Brewers logo is incredibly clever. The m & b forming a glove with a ball in the pocket... Whoever came up with it.. I hope they were well paid!
And do not feel bad about not seeing what the logo is... I didn't for a couple years when I was a kid.. someone pointed it out to me during the 1982 World Series and I was blown away!

Phillies: The Liberty Bell
The Milwaukee Brewers logo is a baseball glove. The fingers of the glove are in the shape of an M for Milwaukee and the palm is in the shape of a B for Brewers with a baseball in the middle. Such a great logo!

I’m not a Phillies fan at all but I laughed out loud so hard and found myself saying f u when you put them in trash. All in jest though. Phillies logo is the liberty bell in Philadelphia since it was the original capitol of the USA.

The history and tradition behind some of those logos is hard to understand if you are not a long-time fan. A lot of logos harken back to some traditional style that can be 100 years old in some cases.
The brewers logo is actually a baseball glove, except the top part is an m and the left side is a b, standing for Milwaukee Brewers. The Phillies logo is also the liberty bell.

I know rugby and cricket are popular there but all I ever hear British people talk about is football/soccer. Are they really that popular with the average Brit?? Like do you look forward to the start of rugby or cricket season??
Some teams have better secondary logos than primary. Other teams have better older logos.

Personally I prefer the old P logo from the 70's and 80's .. and the old logo with the 1776 looking guy on it was cool too.. The Liberty Bell logo isn't bad.. but I do like their older logos better.

Not your fault at all, but unfortunately there is a lot wrong with the collection of logos you have been given there
Every team has at least 2 types of logos- The full team logo/wordmark and the more simple baseball cap logo.
You have a mix of full team logos and cap logos here, so it’s hard to compare them fairly.
The San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees full logos are here, for instance, while you only have the Pittsburgh Pirates and Arizona Diamondbacks cap logos.
As a future video idea, do a ranking of JUST MLB cap logos 😁

Watch Geography King’s ranking of the state flags and you’ll get a better appreciation as to what’s good and what’s not.

Some of these are just what the players wear on their baseball caps/helmets, which is different than the actual team logo. For example the Pittsburgh '"P" is worn on the cap but the teams actual insignia is much cooler. And the Mets logo is different than the NYM they wear on their caps/helmets

Some of these logos are historical - have been the team logo forever. Some are not the logos on their uniforms.
You threw away the Phillies logo with the Liberty Bell -a huge symbol of American history and hated the Yankees colors of red, white, and blue. The Yankees, Phillies, and Nationals are all red, white, and blue. The US National Capital was in New York and Philadelphia before it was in Washington, DC.
Most of the logos have American, city or MLB history behind them.
Please definitely do this for the other sports. Especially NHL. I tbink the NHL has some of the coolest logos out there.

It’s been said already but a lot of these logos aren’t on the uniforms and the uniform logos - like the city connections - are way better!! Definitely not a dodgers fan, but it’s one of my favorites.

Baltimore Orioles logo is by far the coolest. The old Cleveland Indians was very cool too.
Baseball logos have a ton of history so the older and more storied franchises are going to be more reluctant to change. As this is one of the oldest spots in the US, there will be lots of older logos and therefore less improved logos over time. Also, as a big dodger's fan, the fact that you put the Trashstros so high up is unforgivable.
