Hi abi Could you please help ? I'm New to quilting however I've ordered a quilting foot for my brother ls14 Sewing machine Could you advise me please on how lower rge feed dogs? I can't see a switch anywhere on the machine to do this ? Kindest regards Karen
Aww, you can’t drop the feed dogs on this machine, and Brother are so rubbish, they don’t even give you a darning plate (it covers the feed dogs so you can do free motion embroidery). It’s part XC6063-021 (from the manual). I don’t have the machine to demonstrate but I hope that helps.
@@AbisDen Hi abi. I've purchased a quilting foot and darning plate However I'm not sure what stitch on my brother ls14 machine to use ? Could you please help ? I've seen on some tutorials it says choose 0 Well I don't have a 0 on mine ? Thankyou
Thanks for showing how the feed dogs articulate. I have an older Kenmore 385 and I don't think the feed dogs are working. I notice this particularly when trying to have the machine go in reverse to pull the material back. Maybe it needs a good cleaning!
The feed dog is broken on my Baby Lock ESg3 sewing/embroidery machine. I found a replacement on "Sewing Parts Online" but when I went to order it, it is discontinued. I am so frustrated. I would appreciate any suggestions you may have on where I can locate one.
Is there a way to adjust the feed dogs to have them come up higher? The feed dogs on my Bernina 170 suddenly stopped lifting high enough to grab the fabric, it appears when they come up now, they are flush with the throat-plate instead of coming up high enough to grab the fabric to feed it through. Thanks so much in advance for your help. Linda Hardesty
I have the same machine, Janome 5018 (got it used recently), and the same problem. The feed dogs seem to be too low to catch the fabric. Fabric is sliding all over the place. There is a lever on the back of the machine, behind the bobbin area, which raises and lowers the feed dogs, and I have accidentally completely disengaged them by moving that. So...now what? It won't reengage at all.
@@cheriek60 hello I also have a Janome and my feed dogs also don’t move the fabric at all. The fabric just stays there so I have to pull the fabric and it isn’t great at all since I always have to have extra fabric to pull on. So do you just lower the feed dogs and not use them at all? Because like I said my fabric needs me to pull and tug it in order for it to move.
@@sonjadezeeuw2255 okay so I am new to sewing machines and I wasn’t aware of this but the stitch length should be 2 or higher and it worked for my machine. My stitch length would always be at 0 or 1 and I changed it and perfect. My fabric moves and glides nicely without me having to tug

Hi Karen, it doesn't matter which straight stitch you choose, you just need the needle to go up and down and you will move the fabric around.
This is great help, thank you. Can you advise how to alter the feed dog position versus the needle height
a tip: you can watch movies at Flixzone. Been using them for watching lots of of movies these days.
@Gus Jaxtyn Definitely, I have been using Flixzone for since november myself :D

On your baby lock check the model befor or after and see it it’s the same part
Where is the button to raise or lower the feed dog
It usually sits behind the free arm
On my Husqvarna Viking machines, the switch to raise and lower the feed dogs is beside the bobbin case.
How do we alter the feed dog

craftoncue I have the same problem....looks like the TH-cam isn’t answering the questions....moving on and a thumbs down

@craftonce @sonja de zeeuw @cherie klein - it sounds like you need to remove the needle plate and clean the lint that’s stuck underneath
My feed dogs are not working.... do I buy new feed dogs or is it a bigger issue that I have to bring to a dealer?
I have to pull my fabric really hard
Oil them. There is something jamming them. Dirt, grit, rust. They’ll work. It’s rare to break fees dogs
I have a brother LX2763 the feed dog doesn't work anymore.
Appreciate the clarity!
The feed dogs are not moving at all please help i have a toyota rs 2000 machine
