Imperial Noble Consort Gao died in 1745 (aged 34)
Empress Fuca (Rongyin) died in 1748 (aged 36)
Imperial Noble Consort Chun died in 1760 (aged 46)
Empress Nara died in 1766 (aged 48 , 3 months after Yongqi Died)
Fuca Fuheng died in 1770 (aged 50)
Imperial Noble Consort Ling (Empress Xiaoyichun) died in 1775 (aged 47)
Consort Shu died in 1777 (aged 48)
Empress Dowager died in 1777 (aged 85)
Emperor died in 1799 (aged 87)
After Empress Nara died, the Emperor did not designate a new empress. However, the Imperial Noble Consort Ling, who held the highest rank among all of the imperial consorts, was placed in charge of the imperial harem.
In the thirty-eight year of his reign, the Emperor decided to secretly select an heir. Seven of his sons were living at the time, but he decided to choose Yongyan (Consort Ling's Son) , who was not outstanding, but was hardworking and humble. His reign 1796 - 1820.
As time passed, Imperial Noble Consort Ling became increasingly ill. On 9 February 1775 her elder daughter, Princess Hejing, died and the news worsened her condition. She succumbed to her illness on 28 February 1775 at the age of 47. On 12 March 1775, she was posthumously granted the title "Imperial Noble Consort Lingyi", and on 19 November, she was interred in the Yu Mausoleum of the Eastern Qing tombs after a grand funeral far more regal than that of an Imperial Noble Consort.
I.N Consort Ling was buried on the right side of the Emperor's burial place, while his first wife, Empress Xiaoxianchun (Fuca Ruojin (film), was buried on the left side.
On 9 February 1796, the Qianlong Emperor abdicated and became a retired emperor. Yongyan was enthroned as the Jiaqing Emperor. When Qianlong announced his successor he also posthumously elevated Imperial Noble Consort Lingyi to "Empress Xiaoyi". After the Qianlong Emperor died on 7 February 1799, the Jiaqing Emperor honoured Empress Xiaoyi with the posthumous title "Empress Xiaoyichun". ❤

Just finished watching a short series on Netflix featuring Wei Yinglou’s daughter the 7th Princess Zhaohua and Erqing’s son Fu Kang An. The princess was just like Wei Yinglou: very smart and stubborn 😂. Fu Kang An was an Imperial Guard just like the young Fuheng. He hated Wei Yinglou. He loved Zhaohua, but all he wanted to do was to revenge Wei Yinglou for killing his mom. He tricked Zhaohua to love him and then attempted to harm her. Fu Kang An later regretted it after he found out that Erqing and his uncle (Fuheng’s brother) had an affair and the uncle was actually his father . The conversation between Zhaohua and Fu Kang An on her wedding day (to a Mongolian prince) was very touching. In this series, it’s good to see that Wei Yinglou’s two most trusted persons the maid Zhenzhu and eunuch Xiao Qian Yi were always by her side as they grew older.

Zhaohua wasn't sweet, kind, loyal and loving like Yinglou was - she was a selfish, mean, silly, petty, spoiled brat - just like the Emperor, and Yinglou tried to calm her down and advise her - but she didn't really listen...many things didn't make sense to me in this story, it was silly and unbelievable to me... didn't enjoy this, at all.
@@donamiller3784 She was actually like Yinglou. She was clear who she loved and who she hated. She did not punish anyone for no reason. She did not like pretentious people like Princess Siwan. There was part she said when Princess Siwan and Zhaohua were little, Zhaohua always had to give up her favorite toys that the Emperor gifted her every time Siwan cried. When Zhaohua was 11, Siwan lured her to the late empress’s palace, and Zhaohua was frightened by the crazy eunuch Yuan Chunwang. Zhaohua never told Wei Yinglou about that incident because she said she was afraid Yinglou would kick Siwan out of the Forbidden city. Zhaohua might appear to be spoiled but she was very considerate. However her stubbornness got people misunderstood her, of course she did not care to explain (just like Wei Yinglou 😁). It was hard to watch in the beginning in deed. I really like the ending. I think she got Fu Kang An back on the right track of being a scholar and a soldier with big ambitions, loyal and courage just like Fuheng. The ending was satisfying. Fu Kang An could move forward with his life from that point on.

Wei Yinglou never became empress, but she remained most powerful till end as empress Xia Hoifa Nara was still there, though just for namesake.

I think yingluo love both fuheng and emperor but that love is different for each other....she cant forger her first love....they didnt broke because of misunderstanding or their family backgrounds of their missmatch...emperor broke them..they had to admit that.......i think yingluo loved emperor but im not sure it is equal or more than her love for fuheng.....she is clever ..so she didnt tell that 'i love u' to emperor.....because she want to be unique and get emperor's love forever...actually i like emperor and yingluo scenes most..the are very cute and childish when they together.and behave like normal husband and wife..is this true story???? I can feel the reality of this drama..but i cant type it properly....great realistic drama

Fuheng's death is the sudoeste part of all this drama. I can see the sadness in her eyes. It's really beatiful that she sees him in his old clothes. That's really touching.

they had a lot less trouble taking Zhen'er out than they did Erqing....must be stronger Imperial Guards... ps GREAT series!! the Qing dynasty must have gone through a LOT of carpets. If someone wasn't bleeding on one, the Emperor or his consorts were smashing their teacups on them.... (helps the story though....)

This series is excellent - I just wanted a better outcome for Yinglou and Fuheng... I hated that the Emperor got a happy ending and they didn't - he was such a mean, selfish, nasty, evil man, and most of his concubines were evil & crazy, just like him ...
Pros of being an emperor
As an emperor, he is pretty good already… look at the other show-story of ZhengHuan…his dad is way worse.

@@sritiqinlanI had read about it online, that few episodes were taken off air by government as there was too much plotting and hatred enacted in them.
There was enough footage for 80 episodes but they never aired that many. There were many things cut. For example Consort Gao was seen to be consoling Ying Luo's older sister which we never saw at all so that was an entire story line cut out. I know her sewing metal wire into the curtain that struck the empress dowager with lightening was cut too. I wouldn't worry too much about it

I finally finished Story of Yanxi today. I've already watched The Double and New Life Begins, and I loved them! I highly recommend The Princess Royal and Story of Kunning Palace-they're both very good too.

This series is 90% fiction and 10% real.
1 - Consort Ling began serving the Qianlong Emperor even before the death of the first Empress.
He began serving in the Emperor's bed in 1745, the Empress of the Fuca clan died in 1748.
In the series, Yingluo tells the Empress that she would never sleep with him while she was alive because it would be like betraying her.
In real life she was serving the Emperor for at least 3 years before the Empress died.
This is important because much of the first arc revolves around the fidelity and loyalty that Yingluo has for the Empress.
If that fidelity and loyalty do not exist, then Yingluo's character becomes one more, another maiden with aspirations of becoming a concubine and climbing the harem.
2 - Fuheng's character really existed. He was the brother of Empress Xiaoxianchun.
But his story was completely different.
He had a main consort and several concubines.
He also had several children: Fuling'an, Fulong'an, Fuk'anggan and Fuchang'an (adopted son). In addition to several daughters.
Once again, the series completely alters the life of a character to fit into the Cinderella story, although it loses all its essence.
I wonder why they didn't create a twin brother of Fuheng who was also in love with Yingluo.
3 - Qianlong's true love was not Yingluo, it was Empress Xiaoxianchun. He never got over her death or the death of the children he had with her.
4 - Doesn't anyone age except Empress Nara?
Fuheng died at the age of 50 but in the series he does not look older than 35.
At the end of the series, Yingluo is 38 years old and looks no older than 28.
Qianlong is 54 years old and doesn't look more than 38.
This discrepancy in ages is not normal.
Not even the Empress Dowager is affected by the passage of time!
It's okay to dramatize the story, create new characters, and put context to some gaps in the story.
But it's not okay to exaggerate.
What would viewers think of seeing that Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII have 4 children together and he does not become tyrannical?
Much of the series is based on real events.
But much of the show is completely invented, save for some small details.
Dates are not respected, the biographies of these people are not respected, not even the places where those events occurred are respected.
An example is that Empress Xiaoxianchun died while they were touring the south with the Qianlong Emperor (and Yingluo was also on that trip, by then she already had the title of Concubine Ling).
What sense does it make to make a film about Joan of Arc and in the end she does not die at the stake and is saved by a "Deus ex machina"?
Or a movie about the sinking of the Titanic where the ship not only does not sink but also no one dies, everyone is saved, they die at almost 100 years old but looking like they are 60 years old.
To finish: Where are Qianlong's children?
Where is the first-rank Princess Hejing that he had with Empress Xiaoxianchun whom he adored and allowed her to reside in the capital so that she would be close to him?

Mind'you:these'two'series'use'the'palace'dramas'as'just'thebackdrop'against'which'the'filmmakers'tell'two'very'different'stories.
This'one'is'about'the'quest'for'justice'of'an'underdog'who'goes'after'all'the'bullies.
While"Ruyi's..."is'about'the'very'dark'and'heartbreaking'case'of'a'falling'out'of'love.
After watching it for the first time in 2024, it's a really good series. Not "Nirvana in Fire" level of good of course, but for example, I think I liked it more than "The Princess Wei Young", at least here I have more episodes to re-watch it seems.
Even if from male's perspective I find Tiffany Tang easier on the eyes. Both female leads were casted and acted very well though.
Really liked the acting of the Emperor and Empress here.
There are of course things I dislike - females turning evil weren't convincing IMO, I also wish they would show Yingluo doing anything to instigate Prince He to rebel as it was claimed.
I'm not sure if I understand Empress Dowager not killing Yuan Chunwang AND at the same time claiming he's not royalty either.
I will be in the minority here for sure, but the episodes I enjoyed the most were the ones with Wei Yingluo and Yuan Chunwang together in the Workshop, I wish that part would be longer, with them maybe working up together from the bottom.
So, maybe it's a good place to ask - are there any C-dramas dramas (historical or modern), where both leads start close to the bottom and then climb up? Is this even possible within historical scenarios?

I'm not the biggest fan of Zhao Liying, but the character seems to fit her. And Male Lead looks to be a great character and charismatic actor as well.
