He's dead there's no freeing a dead person from their fate. Joku has even said ( or at least it was said then revoked or something like that ) That all the endings of Dreamtale are all pretty grim. There was even something where Dream had a *dream* ( **badum tss** ) of uncorrupted Nightmare dying and that's when he knew the current nightmare wasn't his brother anymore.
