It seems to me a bit out of place for an individual to own the most valuable posession of such a great man as Nash. I find it tasteless for a man to associate himself with the persona of a Nobel laureate just by the virtue of having enough money to buy his medal and diploma. Both of them belong in a museum.
We can expect, or hope, that the buyer of a venerable artifact like this will be shared with the world--in other words, given to a museum--but today many valuable fossils from the Mesozoic are tucked away in mansions of the rich; one of Leonardo's codices belongs to Bill Gates, and works by Rembrandt, Velasquez and Manet are chained to the whims of the art market. I agree that the legacy of civilization should not be commodified. These sparks of human genius are rightly possessions of a species, not a prince, a celebrity or a businessman.
I had a desire to become a genius like you but all in vain. Certain little feelings in me ( like in u which broke u when u your criticised through new York Times for ur Nash equilibrium theory ) broke my heart and consquently my mind. But a feeling of hope is in me due to making electric shocks. I was in thought to be like u and I had made a research at graduation level and had kept that silently at home to show that after a period of time but my Nash I burnt that when I was not ok mentally and I burnt a lot of books along with. I am recovering my self after this depression and am learning from beginning on net to clear all confusions and doubts. Sotheby's estimates gold medal and the handwritten certificate's value is between $2.5 million and $4 million. The 1963 physiology or medicine prize awarded to Alan Lloyd Hodgkin sold for $795,614, the 1988 physics prize awarded to Leon Lederman went for $765,002 and the 1971 economics prize awarded to Simon Kuznets brought in $390,848. This awards sold in the last year. Francis Crick's award sold for $2.27 million in 2013. So I think the Nobel Prizes aren't worth so much. This award's main aim is proud the award's owner. The main aim isn't trade. I don't accept this actions.
there's a difference between being brilliant and thinking you're brilliant. Besides, Genius is not everything. Some people are born with it some people don't, there are responsibilities and obligations you have to fulfill.
I think his story of triumph over his schizophrenia is the most inspiring aspect of his achievements....

John Nash's father worked for one of AEP's subsidiaries. I loved the book and the movie. He had a beautiful mind.
