KUSAMA Princess of Polka Dots MUSEUM VIDEO.mov

Now in her 80s, Yayoi Kusama's extraordinary art career has included painting, sculpture, installation art, performance art, and more. This 7 minute clip was cut together with excerpts from our in-progress feature documentary: KUSAMA: Princess of Polka Dots (www.kusamadocumentary.com.) We are still raising tax-deductible donations to complete archival image licensing and other elements of post-production. This short cut was originally produced to accompany the Yayoi Kusama retrospective at the Tate Modern Museum in London from February 9th to June 5th, 2012. The 2007 Trailer on our KUSAMAdocumentary TH-cam Channel was created early in our production as part of our grant applications. I have loved the work of Yayoi Kusama for many years and as an arts lecturer always included her in my contextual lessons. I liked the film i hope there will be more made, as this artist has not been given the recognition she deserves.

Most famous and very successful artists have some sort of psychological issue. I think this is what makes their art so wonderful. Her hallucinations are her friends. Not all people with this kind of medical condition have such a fate. I am sad that her family didn't understand her earlier, especially her parents. Are there any other of her family members still alive, and do they communicate??? Kambate, Yayoi-san! Domoarigato gozaimashita...
