    The load is a steam Generator from Korea, heading for the VC Summer nuclear plant in Parr,SC. The train is seen at Devine Jct Columbia SC.
    Well I guess I've jumped on the merch bandwagon. But unlike other offers, the merch I offer goes way beyond the hoody and features the image in the video. Please click the link to see what I have.

    I will be the first to admit that I don't know much about trains, but I absolutely love watching them. It honestly blows my mind on how much weight a locomotive can pull around with such ease. Thanks for the great video!!

      That's the beauty of the wheel in action. And those special cars apparently can hold almost a million and half pounds. As well as rotate as you can see to negotiate corners

    • @SAXTProductions
      @SAXTProductions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      considering the size of the car (even when empty) there is a high likely hood that unless the tunnel tracked and modified for double-stack service that it would not. Current FRA regulations station that it can not pass another train on a passing curve. So if say BNSf or any carrier had a tunnel on the line that they were looking at using, it would need to be rerouted around said tunnel. So the short answer, on the side of caution, no it would not run through tunnels. Now if you wanted to have the HO Scale Bachmann model run through a tunnel just make sure that it would clear on the top and sides.

    I always thought the steam generator at a nuclear plant was the reactor :)

    • @andrewlucia865
      @andrewlucia865 ปีที่แล้ว

      On some reactors it is, mostly Boiling Water Reactors (BWR's). Most nuclear reactors these days are PWR's (Pressurized Water Reactors) however, and those don't have any steam flowing through the reactor itself. In fact, the water in the reactor vessels themselves is pressurized specifically to prevent boiling inside the reactors. Instead, they pump the pressurized water circulating through the reactor and the primary cooling loop into several massive steam generators, which generates steam in a secondary loop to actually be used in the turbines.
      Its a bit of a complex design, but its also easily one of the safest in use right now.

    The blips and artifacting starting at @13:00 and forwards is likely from radiation from testing/manufacturing the generator unit
