Thanks Sandi! And thank you for introducing me to this tag! It was a good little exercise and has also helped me get a bit clearer on some decks and their place in my collection ☺️🌳💙
Such a cool tag. It's interesting how we all perceive decks differently, I find the Wildwood beautiful and gentle but almost too gentle to the point I can never have super deep readings with it, but I understand your reasons to find it intimidating due to the system! The Illuminated Earth Oracle is so so soooo beautiful. The Wild Unknown Archetypes is growing on me... love the fact that it is slightly intimidating! Thanks for sharing!!
I know right! So cool to see everyone’s differing stand points and how each deck speaks to each of us individually. That’s so interesting that you find the Wildwood Tarot really gentle, although I see that energy in some of the cards for sure, overall I think it has a really strong and sometimes menacing energy for me! I wonder if it’s something to do with me being less comfortable with certain energies? 🤔 maybe the primordial and wild aspects of it are something I need to come closer to 🙌🏻😂 I can definitely see you getting on with the Illuminated Earth oracle ! Haha! So many people love the Wild unknown Archetypes and if you’re up for the challenge I’m sure there’s a lot of wisdom to be gleaned from it , it’s just a bit overwhelming for me 🙈 Thanks for stopping by as always! ☺️🌳💙
Awwwwww thank you Bethany! That’s honestly so kind of you to say and I’m really glad- so nice to have you here at the Treehouse, I’m glad you found your way here! ☺️🌳💙
The system change in Wildwood does look intimidating. I've realized I won't learn a new system that's only relevant to one deck unless I'm absolutely in love with that deck. The human cards in Illuminated Earth are really beautiful but I agree, I wouldn't be able to pick anything up from the rest of them. I just watched Interstellar on the plane! That card does look like the other dimension. I agree the images in Prisma Visions are really hard to make out. It's quite abstract. The art in Cosma Visions is more defined. I am also still figuring out how i'm going to use Prisma. The issue you have with Botanica is the same issue I have with Seed & Sickle lol. I don't think I'm willing to memorize the plants and their meanings 🥲 I love this tag! I may have to try it out. Thank you for sharing ♥️✨
I totally agree with you there Kara, for me it has to be a deck I love and want to pick up in order for me to maintain the focus and discipline to study it! 🙈😂 right now I have like 3 in my collection that warrant some study and I feel like that’s enough for me right now 😂 The human cards are hauntingly beautiful but the others are some work , I’m glad I’m not alone In feeling that way 🙈 Omg! Interstellar synchronicity’s! 😄🙌🏻 such a great movie! Prisma is an abstract workout for the eyes sometimes right? 🙈 I haven’t really looked into the Cosma visions oracle tbh, do you find you use it more than it’s tarot counterpart? Haha those botanical decks eh! A lot to learn with flower language but I think where the seed and sickle may hold some sway that as an oracle deck, where we may more often than not to one card pulls, it’s more fitting to get the guidebook out to read from if you know what I mean? Either way, you’ve already convinced me to pick that deck up this spring so 🙌🏻😂 I’ll look forward to your choices if you do it! I hope the move prep is going well! ☺️🌳💙
@@TheTarotTree I do use Cosma more often. It's actually a "taroracle" lol, it's modeled after the tarot system and so I read it very similarly to tarot.
I saw so many people who loved the Wild Unknown Archetypes so I watched some walk through videos to see if I wanted to buy it. My lord it was so convoluted. It just seemed like there were other decks that could explore similar things without having so many separate categories and in cards that aren't so hard to handle.
Honestly Rachel , I completely agree with you there- convoluted is the exact word for it. It kind of surprises me that not many other people in this community have said that 🤔 Don’t get me wrong , I love Kim Krans work but this deck really does have a lot going on and some of its wisdom unfortunately seems out of reach because of it. I’m going to try and see if I can make it more workable by having it split up into sections but if that fails I think it’ll be finding a new home 🙈 Thanks for stopping by as always ☺️🌳💙
I also struggle with court cards. I’m starting to “get” the queens more, but court cards are definitely intimidating. So many creators love changing the court cards and I hate it because it’s like... COME ON I’M JUST STARTING TO UNDERSTAND THE NORMAL COURTS DON’T CONFUSE ME MORE. 😂 But yeah, animal court cards confuse me too.
EXACTLY THIS! I mean, give us a chance right! 🙈😂 I feel like one of the bigger creators on here has done a series on the court cards (maybe Lisa Papez or even Saturnarium) I’ll have to check those out! They are a struggle for a lot of us I think- that’s why I like decks that demonstrate a very strong character through each of their courts, I find that art that shows that figures personality can really help. Haha yeah these Wildwood animal court cards are probably going to be the hardest part of studying this deck but it’ll be cool to see how the animals picked speak to the courts in terms of characteristics- I semi look forward to it! 😂 🌳💙
@@TheTarotTree yes! Lisa Papez's keywords for the Court Cards helped a lot! Tom Benjamin's explanation also really helped me, it goes like this: Pages are the STUDENT of their suit. Knights are the SEEKER of their suit. Queens are the EMBODYMENT of their suit. Kings are the MASTER of their suit. So like, for example, the knight of swords would be a SEEKER of KNOWLEDGE. I was flipping through the Wildwood and here are two courts that immediately made sense to me: Queen of pentacles is a bear. Since the QoP is, as Tom Benjamin says, "the ultimate nurturer", she is a mama bear :P The King of pentacles is a wolf. Wolf's run in packs and always have an alpha, which makes sense for the patriarch archetype of the KoP. If it helps, I like to think of the KoP as the "good king" archetype in every medieval fantasy ever. So you know, like a Theoden or a Ned Stark. The Queen of Cups for me is the "good queen" archetype in every medieval fantasy ever. So if Ned Stark is the KoP, Cat Stark is the QoC. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@marianamasbooks omg! Sorry I missed this Mariana! I don’t always get notifications for replies to comments for some reason 🙈 this was so insightful! I really love the keywords you’ve used there to denote the court cards energy! That’s actually really helped me, I’ll need to check Tom Benjamin out for sure! I like the idea of linking the archetypes to characters we’re familiar with too! That’s inspired and something I’ve found helpful in other decks! Honestly thanks for this! ☺️🌳💙
@@TheTarotTree Definitely check out his channel. If you search for "Tom Benjamin Court Cards" you should find it, I think he does have a separate video, but if not, in his suits videos he talks about the court... They're older videos, but very good! He has a very straight forward approach I find very easy to understand.
I bought the Wildwood a while ago not knowing that it had its own system. I just wanted a druid type deck and even though everyone recommends the Druidcraft, I liked the art on the Wildwood better. I usually don’t mind when decks have “their own system” because I just ignore it and read it as an RWS haha, but the Wildwood is SO different that I can’t do that! 😫 It’s so sad because artistically it’s one of my favorite decks from my collection!! ...I saw a video by Tom Benjamin where he says the Wildwood really worked for him once he just let go of rws and leaned into whatever the cards have to say. I might try that and see how it goes. At this point I’m seriously considering just getting the Druidcraft, even though for some reason it doesn’t really call to me... it’s weird considering its by the same artist of the Wildwood!! 🙈
Honestly Mariana when I first saw the Wildwood Tarot I thought the same! I didn’t realise it had a whole other system until I had a closer look 🙈 I agree! This deck really is gonna take some work but I really do think it will be worthit- Tom may have the right idea there, it is a deck you kinda have to surrender to. Although I think it is quite hard to read it as a straight RWS, whilst making this video I realised on looking at some of the cards- the 10 of arrows for example, that at first glance it may seem way off the original meaning of the RWS equivalent but actually on deeper contemplation it seems to be offering up an alternative perspective that actually can tie in. It intrigued me and I think that’s why this deck really is worth some study. I feel it has the potential to be very enriching for our understanding of the tarot. Do let me know how you get on with it in the future! When I finish up with the Witches Wisdom and move onto the Wildwood, I’ll definitely consider putting up some videos so we can all journey through it together! I feel the same about the Druidcraft too! It seems to be very special to a lot of people but it doesn’t speak to me at all! The artwork in the Wildwood is far more enticing imo even though I’m sure, as you said that it’s made by the same artist/creator! It’s funny how that works 🙈😂 Thanks for stopping by the Treehouse as always ☺️🌳💙
@@TheTarotTree Ahhh thank you so much for this comment! You inspired me to flip through the cards again and look at them from a different perspective. You're right, I can totally read it! Card 12 is The Mirror instead of The Hanged Man, which can definitely mean a change in perspective :) // If you ever feel like doing a zoom call or something we can totally flip through it together and bounce our ideas and interpretations with each other.
