This problem could have been foreseen because Outback Octagon had to enforce sportsmanship through refereeing (folks might remember the time 3D!Bee was almost suspended because he was thought to have donated a king) and there's no way to referee random players in QM. Outback Octagon rules work in a tournament setting where players can be punished for poor sportsmanship, but don't work in QM lobbies

I feel Drongo needs to play more proactive against it. Like the first time he backed out when he didn't know where the king is. They nice so slowly. There's a big window to get them if you've vision and scouts. You don't need to be in castle to grab them. But I do get it is annoying and I've been given kings and it feels weird. Not given people the chance to do it to others though ;)

Drongo mate, you need to pay attention when about to kill a king. Everytime you are close to killing it (WITH MELEE ONLY), you get outsmarted because you lack the ranged units.

They just need to change that if you kill someone's landmarks, you get the pop bonus. That way they can't just run away the king and give it to someone else

I've never seen Drongo more tilted. But honestly, you're a Conq 3+ player fighting a bunch of plats and golds. They're handing off their kings more often because of that.
It's a fun watch, but it is getting old seeing Drongo pull a Stepbrothers and come in swinging at a kindergarden hahahaha

I imagine people will keep king donating at a greater rate even after strategies partially counter it, because to an extent, the people who king donate are likely only down for low-rushing playstyles, so they will do what they need to push the balance in a punitive way that hurts everyone they dislike.
After all, if the quickmatch for FFA is elo based, these choosing to die scenarios where you take the L are going to be rewarded: You are more likely get matches where you feel powerful if you do something that''s spiteful and makes you feel good in the moment. There are no rewards for doing well, so there is nothing to mitigate unsportsmanly ways of dying feeling good for people who are frustrated.
Its like how I imagine, 6-8 months down the line, there will be people who keep forces in reserve to just rush people who speak like there is a code of honor (As this defends them to have units in reserve, AND lets them swarm like piranas at people who are trying to be smart.) These sorts of anti-social buzzkills tend to compound and get worse over time once they get discovered.
You should have put the cistern in the walls with the keep and attached it to the walls to go through to the other cisterns. That way you would always have at least one cistern worth of upgrade on your keep.
It’s frustrating but could lead to an interesting idea. Have a dynamic handicap system that awards all surviving players additional pop space when someone gets taken out, except the killer of course. Or maybe that would just encourage turtling.
Drongo the Berries dont need to be in the circle for the GW, as long as the vill walks back into the influence and drops off it counts. You can do the same trick with farms as you do with HRE and put one ring of farms set a mill and expand the amount of farms and the vills drop off at the mill and it counts.

im pretty sure he right clicked with his cannon ctrl group and not his army. and his last cannon get destroyed before it killed the king
I think a good way to handle this would be to set a few key structures as anchor points, and have the player lose massively on their rank (or even some kind of griefing punishment) if they are eliminated with a king that isn't in proximity to those structures. And it would also clearly indicate collusion if you see a keep in the middle of someone else's base with a king tucked away.
King donations make it so there is no reason to do anything other than turtling and booming the entire game.
Actually playing the game is double punished with being behind booming opponents and with them getting more population from the king donation.
This has to be fixed.
Found a Bug with killing a King as it enters a tower. It didn't give me the pop cap increase. Let me know if you want to see the game.
I got soo stressed out when you left the king without confirming he was dead. Alll of your seige got destryoed and you panned away then didn't see king defeated i knew something was up

ive noticed youve done this with a few fights, you dont take 3 seconds to confirm a kill or reorder formations and look away for extended amount of seconds, we all do it because that idle vil pop is nagging at our brain, but especially with big maps like this going for the confirmed kill, especially with how if they run out the back of the castle your units will get tied down with the closest enemy instead of confirming a king kill.

FFA Nomad on xbox, the king doesn't have abilities, no king run or king spy. Could u use your connections and make xbox the same as PC. (Idk how to report to AoE4)
The problem here is how would you even curb this sort of behavior? Make the King not obey commands to enter enemy zones? Give a penalty for pop bonus in future games? There really aren't good solutions for being this level of vindictive heel move.
How come the grand winery didn't get the 2nd 3rd or 4th cistern? This is why I think cisterns should be towers.

You do this mistake a lot. In crucial moments, you look elsewhere and the king escapes.
These huge maps are getting a little boring because there's not much action until you attack them. In this game, everyone is just turtling and waiting for late game. Missing the 1vs1 casts.
Drongo mate its not a bug its a feature lol, if you give your king to someone you've basically FF'd and allied them at the same time so you can keep playing and the games a bit more fun if they let your king live. I can totes see why you hate it tho tbh lol

I played against the yellow player in this game a few days ago as well, with a name like his you wouldnt be surprised to hear that he purposely walked his king into the opponent's base, while describing in chat where he was moving it, so I wouldn't get the +50 pop. It's just so unnecessary and cringe, I don't understand why people can't just play the game.

I thought he didn't either for a second but I believe it's actually the crossbow elite upgrade displaying in the same place as the Varengian guard upgrade because he's selecting all military production buildings which includes both the archery ranges and the barracks. So it displays a blend of both buildings technologies and units, making it look confusing. At least that's what I assume! Could be wrong!
If you really want that king you need your own king hunting cav squad. Complaining dont help. Regardless of how unsporting it is.
Byzantine is the best lategame Civil by far.
why? I think 40%HRE Chapple and ×2relic gold is way more powerful.
There siege sucks and all the gold units cost extra gold so there gold heavy and dependent running out of gold is a commen thing with bysantines.
@@LaimoKingByzantines have fair build speed bonus too, they don’t need that much gold really, and their military is many times stronger than that of HRE’s.
What Civs suck late game?
@@genesisSOCMalians, Mongols, and Jean D'Arc off the top of my head.
There are other civs that shine a bit brighter in Castle than Imperial or whatever (Japanese, Delhi, etc), but those three specifically fall off pretty hard late game (unless they've been sufficiently oppressive up until that point).
Drongos got some serious ADHD issues like the point of the game is to kill kings not make the 255th farm at just the right location bruh lol
