@@UniWonder I also drive Volvo L250's and Ljungby L-30's. And I load haultrucks with a LeTourneau I-2350. We have quite the varied machinepark on site. The Volvo is decent, but the Ljungbys are absolute dogshit. Worst I've ever tried. Can't even explain in words how awful they are. The LeTourneau is nice, but it is more in the shop than on site. (49% availability last year)
All the computer shit they put on them now you gotta go to school for.I like the old way better.Just like back in the day you truly learned how to run a dozer with out all that crap.Thats when operators were operators.
I agree, I can run clutches, hydro static or pretty much anything other than cables and steam. Older really is better when it comes to something you own and maintain yourself.
It still takes an operator to run a machine well, buddy. I bet you're not driving a vehicle from the 70s or 80s, because it just isn't efficient. Things change and become more modern. You burning candles for light? Horse and carriage maybe? It's 2024 you're using modern technology to talk shit about people using technology. Moron
And that regin crap . More trouble than it's worth . Then it's back to the computer so they can get the codes and clear it out. It's all about getting your $$$

I drive 980's and 982's every day and sometimes I get my hands on a 994. All are awesome machines compared to other brands.
I agree, I've run the early 90's CAT 980 and we have a CAT 990 but it's mainly used for loading the concrete crusher's hopper. I haven't ever used it.

You forgot to show the steering...
Steering ? Wheel lever or half wheel ?
It's a lever. The same one as the shifter is on. Shorts only have so much time. If you have trouble steering, please stay out of the cab.

They are still operators, things evolve, else we would still be "digging" with our hands.
