- Quintuple Train Meet My Best Train Meet Video Ever. This video is not a compilation, all 5 trains came within 20 minutes and I had the camera on the whole time. I only shut the camera off to save space on the memory between the 3rd and 4th train as you can see if you watch the whole video.
0:00 Intro. Wow! What a video!! All this action occurred at the Temple Road crossing on the west side of Dunkirk, New York on 3 January 2021.
O:40 You are at the Temple Road crossing when Norfolk Southern train #W09 comes around the curve down the tracks heading west.
3:00 You panned from the Norfolk Southern tracks to the CSX tracks to show us that CSX train #Q368 is approaching the Temple Road crossing which is also known as CSX Control Point (Mile Post) 42. This train had a mid-train DPU. CSX train #Q368 was a mixed freight train.
4:45 Norfolk Southern train finishes passing the Temple Road crossing. While CSX train #Q368 is still going past the Temple Road crossing.
6:09 We hear a horn from a westbound CSX double stack with auto racks train coming toward the Temple Road crossing.
7:54 The westbound CSX double stack train with auto racks finishes passing the Temple Road crossing.
9:16 CSX train #Q368 finishes crossing Temple Road and a short time later we hear the CSX defect detector at Mile Post 42.6 say that there were no defects on the train on track #2 i.e. CSX train #Q368.
9:57 After CSX train #Q368 passes, you pan back to the west and see that another CSX train is coming toward the Temple Road crossing. At this point the CSX train is over two miles away from the Temple Road crossing.
13:09 Another Norfolk Southern westbound mixed freight train appears heading to the Temple Road crossing.
13:46 The CSX gates at the Temple Road crossing go down for the CSX train that is approaching the Middle Road crossing while the Norfolk Southern train continues to head west.
14:26 The eastbound CSX intermodal train starts across the Temple Road crossing.
16:17 Both the Norfolk Southern westbound train and the eastbound CSX intermodal train finish passing the Temple Road crossing.
16:28 We hear the CSX defect detector at Mile Post 42.6 saying that there were no defects on the CSX train on track #2.

I saw a NS locomotive being pulled by a UP locomotive. Really rare sight seeing at where I live!!
That looks like rather old CSX power on the last train. And I can hardly believe you caught a quintuple train meet! Outside of a rail yard this must be a once in a lifetime opportunity. 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤

The NS W09 was a cool really long mixed freight. I'm not sure I've ever seen two different helper units on the same train before. Throw in the meet and it's awesome! 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤

They have a spot in Pittsburgh where you get stuck between CSX line to Baltimore and NS Harrisburg line. Most people would be agitated by it. I was fascinated.

There was a good mix of locomotives on the first train. A five-way meet would make up for all the hours of waiting for trains.
This Temple rd. Crossing is great, super bright l.e.d. crossing signals with multiple train meets,makes for an awesome video.

I say this with a smile on my face. I'm SUUUUUPER jealous of you witnessing such an awesome catch. LOL. I've recorded along those same parallel lines at that same crossing, Irving, NY, Erie, PA, Wickliffe, OH, etc. and haven't even witnessed a 3-way yet. This catch is legendary. Great job, railfan!!

I just realized I grew up along these same two lines, but about 100 miles west in Geneva, Ohio. Seeing you between the lines brought back all those memories! This is fantastic!
Wow that's cool. Yes these 2 lines go from Buffalo NY to Ohio and are parallel to each other most of that way

Trainspotting in England, as a boy, we used to get excited over any "goods" (freight) train that neared (they hardly ever exceeded) 30 wagons. :-)

Awesome sightings! I saw that 309 on the Ns with the foreign power and a K028 with a Bnsf leader about 30 minutes east of where you railfan at.

I saw a BNSF tanker in a meet w a CSX tanker but it was a westbound

It was an amazing 20 minutes of trains, there were 3 more in the next 10 minutes when I went back to town. You will see those in todays video 1/5/20

Are you kidding me quintuple meet 5 trains?😮😮 whoa that is stunning😃 glad I don't get snow kinda it causes problems icy roads power outage too cold and stuck at home 10:11 🚂🛤 11:30 as you can see the bottom light is brighter than the middle and high lights cause it's indicating the train to slow down 11:46🚂🚂 that horn is the Norfolk Southern train coming. It turned white cause it's changing colors
Nice meet and a DPU Alright! Then train 3 - very nice! And train 4 sneaks in followed by train 5. Today was WWOT Day!! There was probably some smoke coming off the tracks after all those trains went by :)

Interesting variety of power on that first train, inc. a UP SD70MAC. I was going to say you only needed CSX to complete the set, and there it was!
Yes was a great meet, I thought it would only be the 2 trains (which was awesome in itself) but to have 3 more come is amazing
Mr. Tupolev, you also missed a BNSF engine, between the 2 NS, and the UP engines. I'm not sure, because it was hard to make out, But I think it was a 9-44 C series, or newer.

The UP Was accually an SD70M, only BN, CSX, and TFM Bought SD70MACs

I had a similar experience in the distant past!
Many years ago I was parked by the Goodman St. Yard in Rochester. So long ago, it was still Conrail, in fact. The yard was being actively switched and several trains came by on the main in rapid succession. Suddenly, the perfect stranger parked to my left rolled down his passenger window and yelled, " What is this, fuckin' Chicago? "

For 2021 amazing. Just think 60 years ago there would have been at least 4 passenger trains in addition. Probably more freights cause they were shorter and more diverse. This time of year coal and iron ore plus tank car trains. Old NYC was real busy
Yes and there were 4 mainlines back then in this spot, which is the old NY Central NY to Chicago Mainline

@@WideWorldofTrains I live in Lappeenranta, Finland (city centre) and there is an old train track that still has trains moving through, but very seldomly. I happened to spot one coming back from work. It was a couple winters ago i think. :)

Always impressed with the camera hd, I’m trying to upload again but I work a lot, plus mine is still skippy in certain parts of it, one of the reasons I hardly have interest in filming again
