Been coming back to this tutorial often; really want to try it soon. Thanks Chris!
Awesome work Chris, Thank you. I've seen this effect on a HUblot advertisement. Was wondering how they did it. You are here at the right time my pal. Thank you!
I had to figure it out. It was too cool not to haha Glad you enjoyed it!
Great tutorial man! so simple but so effective!

So clever!
The cleverest. Thanks! haha
clever!
Awesome
Thanks!!!
Great! Can you teach me how to make some hands now?
You’re the hand master. Not me 😂
what video player are you using? when you showed hublot reference in the beginning
That was my reference haha. Just some experimenting I did. But the player is DJV.
Correction, just woke up. I use quicklook to preview files by hitting spacebar. So it’s just the Quicklook player
Any tips on how to do this for Octane?
I do not. I don't use octane unfortunately.
Can this be done with arnold?
No idea. Never used Arnold. Sorry.
I've been trying to translate this into Octane with no luck :( How do I achieve this?
I’ll see if I can figure it out. But not sure if octane can do the clipping.
@@ChrisLambethMotion Octane has a clipping material that turns the object the material is assigned to into a Boolean. I just don't know how to get it to work like in your tutorial, since it only works when I assign it to the other object, and not the plane.
did you work it out with octane?@@ObscureHedgehog
Isnt it easier just use AO?
Easier maybe. Won’t look nearly as good though
we cant read anything cause ultrawide screen record :(
What are you viewing it on?
Use your ears
watch it on an ultra wide screen then you peasant
