Thank you so much, that seems to have fixed my problem. I did a little digging to try to understand what those numbers mean. 1: "System-Specifies a driver that loads and starts during kernel initialization after drivers with a Start value of 0 have been started." 3: "On Demand-Specifies a driver or service that the Service Control Manager (SCM) will start only on demand." So choosing 1 means the driver is loaded automatically when Windows starts, with 3 the driver will start when Windows sees a need for it, which is why it would (usually) start if I kept hitting a key when Windows was booting.
@@aksharpatel1097 Why not? As long as you don't do anything too far off you shouldn't break Windows. I'm STILL Having the problem, it's just not as bad. Windows never sees my keyboard at a cold boot, but when it's rebooted it always sees it.... so for me the "fix" is to start the computer, then reboot it.

Great help. It's amazing how this short videos can solve a three hour problem, regardless of saving you from buying a new keyboard, PS/2 adapter, etc. I've spent the whole weekend cleaning and oiling the levers of my logitech keyboard and there's no worse way of starting a week than connecting the keyboard and not being recognized at all. Couldn't find a solution until now. Awesome! I'm buying a HTG Tee right now. Big thanks whatever your name is.

You may update the PS2 mouse driver from Device Manager manually and check if this helps. Press (Windows key + X) and click on “Device Manager”. Expand “Mouse” or “Mice and other pointing devices”. Right click on the driver and select “Update Driver Software”. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

This worked perfectly for me, thank you! I have a pretty recent motherboard I bought around 2020 and I noticed it still had one PS/2 port on it, so I wanted to use it for something.
Thank you very much! I had no idea that this would work, and from multiple videos that i've watched, this one actually worked. Saved me hundreds of dollars and earnt a subscriber!
In my config there is no such i8042prt. I've succesfully found my version of service (kbdhid), but no use. :( Ofc, it was worth trying.
It says it is working in device manager but it is not working, so why does it say it is working when it dont? Also any ways to fix that?
I can I install Standard ps keyboard software in my laptop I have by mistakly uninstall it 😭
It works on windows 7 as well but you have to shut it down and start it by hand, the restart choice wont work
this actually works thanks mate
It bloody works!!! 😁😁😁
Thanks man. Just a thought. If I start to get problems with my registry... how do I restore the backed up version?
btw can you share the theme you're using for the windows, it looks pretty nice, by the theme I mean the weather app clock and the taskbar only appeared when you hovered your mouse over it.. please let me know if there is a special app to get all these features or if you did them manually I hope you have a video of it too xd
