    “It’s stopped raining! GO GO GO GO GO!” Is a mood every Victorian is feeling right now but especially in the Kilmore GDR area

    Yes! This underpainting technique is *the best* way to churn out impressive paint jobs.
    Got to paint up a rock in less than 5 minutes? Instead of black or dark grey shadows, use a dark purple and drybrush with a grey or tan as usual. Boring rock is now interesting but not distracting.
    Have to paint up a thousand monsters for DnD or Warhammer horde? Underpaint like this with spray cans, airbrush or even just a fat brush where you lay the colours and maybe wetblend or stipple if it is on an upwards-facing surface. Then use either a few targetted layers or some heavy glazes to break up the different sections on the model.
    The more adventurous the colours, the better. As long as you drybrush or layer with something more muted, it is sure to look good.

    Murray is awesome. He really has gotten more confident in front of camera talking.
    Good day to all

    I am so happy Murray is such a large part of the Tabletop Time channels! I love taking some bits from the videos to try on my own painting, and holy crap, I strive towards his quick humor that was shown in RagTag!

    This is such a great technique! Really easy for even beginners to grasp and super effective! I’d love to see a side by side direct comparison of the same tile with identical hand painting treatments, but one with the basing out with spray paint and one without to get a really good visual of what this basing really adds to the overall design/dimension/and feel of the scenery! Keep up the amazing work y’all!

    I've been thinking about trying this for ages. but had some anxiety about the outcome. i've only got a couple of hours a week for crafting so i didn't want to waste my time. thanks for showing that this is a viable option!

    Awesome stuff, sometimes we can over do it but you got a great result in such a short time. Love how the Coloured Zenithal does all the heavy lifting and shadow work while the dry brush still draws out all the detail. Simple is good and lets anyone no matter the ability smash out some fun terrain while giving your more time for gaming (hopefully). Enjoyed this one

    Dude! The technique that you described for painting the base coat is the same philosophy that I use for digital art. I use a program to procedurally create highlights and shadows based on the line art and then add my shading on top of that. It makes the process insanely fast for good results

      I'd say Cover and speed over precision it would get tedious and loose continuity doing each terrain piece 1 at a time

    heres a chalange for you guys using a new painting style for minis, try doing a realistic style, this means no zenifol or highlights but using real world lighting to do that work instead

    What Printer did you use. FDM or Resin?

    • @wkblauwster
      @wkblauwster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      based on the supports he needed to remove and the massive layer lines, it is FDM. that is also way more economical for large amounts of terrain/buildings

    • @MiddletonJeff
      @MiddletonJeff 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wkblauwster I hate layer lines. I run a couple of 4k resin printers. I should get a FDM for terrain. It's expensive to print in resin but the finish is soooo much better.

    • @wkblauwster
      @wkblauwster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MiddletonJeff you can dile in fdm printers a lot better in then what you see here. they properly mainly used factory profile and settings. if you take your time properly calibrating all parts of it you can get a lot cleaner results. you will still have layer lines but they will be consistent making them a lot less noticeable. more like a intresting texture that you only see close-up. the truth is that FDM just ain't as much plug and run a resin printers. resin printers these days are ,as long as you level and keep temps and humidity under control, working without basibly any tweaking.
