People who clean up after themselves are great. People who clean up after others are something special. It's a small thing but you're making the world a better place :)
Totally agree. I hate seeing people hill walking in flip flops with carrier bags of larger. 99% of the time those carriers bags will be dumped full of empty cans. Hate that people have no respect. By all means enjoy the beautiful places in the outdoors but it's really not a big thing to clean up own crap...you carried it in when it was full and heavy so carry it out when it's light and cans are flat!!!!
I believe this sort of building was set-up at various places during WW2 as a base for the Civil Defence to Mount a guerilla campaign in the event of a German invasion.
I'm glad you have found peace. Thank you for sharing with us. Never stop. The world needs more people like you. And your vids make that happen. Stay strong
Is the shelter a Stanton Shelter ? These were manufactured by the Stanton Ironworks Co Ltd near Nottingham (the iron connection is in the mould pattern). They could be built in any length but usually consisted of 18 precast concrete arched-shaped units (each one in two parts), bolted together to form a standard (after 1941) Air Ministry shelter for 50 men. The entrance was often brick-lined with concrete steps (where required) and the rear unit had an emergency escape hatch. They are often above ground or semi-sunk but for concealment purposes there were covered by a layer of earth and turf.
When I was a kid approx 10 yo( 1975), on family holiday to wales , I wandered off and walked through a conifer plantation. When I got to the other side into a clearing. I saw several long huts all built the same in steel frame and asbestos walls. They all had rusty steel beds along both walls . Then I walked into another hut …to my amazement it was beautifully painted in the style of an Italian cathedral. Old candlesticks made from reworked steel and brass still framing an altar, lovingly carved from cheap wood. It was a deserted Italian POW camp. Only30 years old at that point. It was near a place called lis-y-fan. I’ll never forget that. This vid took me straight back there! Thanks I love yr camps.
takes me back some years to when i was a teenager camping in the ww2 pill boxes along the coast at cromer..... aaaaaaaaah good times!! awsome vid as always brother
What a find. Glad you're going to continue to use in future. I'd be tempted to move in permanently. Love the channel mate and hope you are doing well out of it.
Looks like a Stanton shelter, mainly used by the War Dept, Must have been something closer to it than RAF Bury St Edmonds, maybe accommodation or something?
The entrances to Fox dens and badger sets look very similar. The easiest way to identify which is which is look at the shape of the hole. Fox holes are circular, whereas badger holes are shaped like a squashed circle. Wider than the height. Looking at the shape of that tunnel entrance you came across,....correct. it's a fox.
Great vlog dude especially in a ww2 bunker next to an airfield gets 11 out of 10 from me for finding this place and going for future camps so nice one and keep it up
Your are a star mate always taking other people's rubbish with you you need to take your attitude to all schools across the country and education all the kids you are spot on mate love you nice one
I remember hunkering within old sheep pens and being surprised how much of a difference it makes to be sheltered from the elements. Great content man. 👏
Goes camping, leaves it it much tidier than when he got there! Wish everyone had your attitude and took action. Looking forward to the next one cheers!
I don't know where you are located , but it's amazing how many old pill boxes and fortified shelters I've found in Kent ... and in the strangest of places . Respect sent to a fellow adventurer who cleans up garbage and takes care of the land . Lefty in New Mexico .
I do believe that's a stanton air-raid shelter. You will find these scattered all over suffolk generally in the near vacinity of ww2 airfields. Enjoy watching your channel especially the long distance suffolk and Norfolk coastal walk. Props to you for cleaning up other people's rubbish.
The food this bloke cooks and simon b.i.t.woods and especially Kent survival just looks amazing smell,a,vision is needed and with that chimney drawing the smoke over the chicken come on i bet that tasted Great and that camping spot👌👍😎😎....never been to that part of Britain Suffolk, Norfolk but always looks beautiful on the box...🎉
Thank you, always refreshing watching your videos, and you cleared it up,respect to you and your mucker,it will be interesting to see if it stays clean 🤟
Did this one last night had to clear it out luckily had a broom and shovel in the van great night a bit smoky in there and had a small furry visitor in the night lol can't wait for next one cheers
My kinda guys, respect mate, I rarely sub to any chans but it's like chillin with your pals watching your vids, everything 10 out a 10. Good routine good kit. Nice one from Bolton
I would have got some gloves for that lot, but well done for picking it up. Shame people leave these places in such a state. You'd think they'd take some pride in their country.
Awesome camp in that bunker, very cool video, good times with good friends, epic setup too, fire poker working well I see, can't wait for the nxt one, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig
Cool spot, no doubt an air raid shelter associated with the airfield and your unidentified other building which will have been part of the war dept. I reckon you could knock up a traditional birch twig broom & clean that place out like new ⛺️😎👍
I’m laughing as to where you are! My mother now in her 80’s used play around the Rougham estate. I now exactly where it is; brilliant and the old Rougham hall ruins too. The Whitehouse Farm, Rattlesden ; the old girls birth place and Rattlesden airfield The old owner of the hall during the war was found dead in his bed on top of the rubble after an air raid. Brilliant video
I clocked some old junker handlebars above the fire place... Great for building a klunker. Great little semi subterranean shelter... Not dissimilar to what you're building.... Haha you just highlighted the bars 🍻... Thought you'd missed em .... Get to keep your sniper ticket
Cool video man as a few people have said it's a Stanton shelter. I grew up just up the road from Stanton iron works just over the road there is 3 of these shelters in a field. The old iron works is being turned into a business park now
Top job Craig, interesting place. Respect for the 2021 clean up, I've been in the woods and did the same today. My Covacure hammock has just arrived, appreciate the shout on that one, bargain. I've always been a bivi bag on the floor Guy in my long distance stealth hiking days but got to the age I just want to swing in the tree's 👍👍 Appreciate what your doing Buddy and how you do it 🍺🍺
Man that was a really cool video!!! Keep up the great work Craig. Love the camp break down beat in the videos btw see you in the next one can't wait ✌🍻
I know this was a year ago, but I'm fairly certain that Dustin (Bushcraft Tools) and Simon, A Bloke in the Woods camped in these bunkers. They'd have info on all of it. Love your videos! Keep the faith!
Great video man. And I tried a Jungle Trip from London Beer Company on your recommendation and it was beautiful, so cheers for that!! 🍻 All the best to you mate 👍🙏❤️
People who clean up after themselves are great. People who clean up after others are something special. It's a small thing but you're making the world a better place :)
Everywhere you go these days is littered with shit, the worst case I've seen is the A500 into Stoke, absolutely disgusting.
I just want to say thank you for cleaning up these areas you make a big difference in keeping these areas tidy
Thanks very much
Food, beers, & a really cool place to camp...that's all you need!
Perfect camping spot I’m jealous of that one
Great stuff. As a child, I used to play in a network of air raid shelters, such adventures.

Nice one bro. Good little spot there and great to see you and your mate tidying up after other plebs have discarded their rubbish.
Brilliant you getting rid of rubbish. Thanks

You definitely don't look exmilitary now with your nose ring. Looking good man, the ladies will love it. Take it easy. 🏴
I dunno.. I'd be worried it will snag on something :p

Only discovered your channel today, loving it so far. I really need to try some wild camping.
Great video, mixing it up!! I traded a spam some British compo and a Signals beret for one of those camp beds during OP Granby, ours were hopeless!
Young nettle tops boil up into a perfect substitute spinach. Best picked with gloves on but lose the sting in boiling hot water. Very healthy.

You have a great social conscience. It is a pity people are so lazy or not bothered when it comes to cleaning up after themselves. Well done! 💕🇦🇺
