Lita returns every so often because her last match was promoted before it happened and Philly still shat on her. Edge didn’t need to win the rivalry, he didn’t need to send Matt to Smackdown. Edge was eventually sent to Smackdown in a years time just sliming off easy real life heat. He’s a great wrestler and a hall of Famer but it definitely feels like Edge cheated irl to stay ahead in WWE. Matt was crucified but still wound up lasting for near 7 years after his comeback (around the same time Edge retired). Then whaddya know Edge is a babyface that fans really appreciate just shortly before being forced to retire (from an injury that goes all the way back to a match with Eddie Guerrero). Then that’s eerie because I believe Matt Hardy could have had a helluva feud with heel Eddie Guerrero and that right there woulda kept him from the bs with Undertaker and punishment/embarrassment from Viscera.

Absolutely revolutionised the tag team scene and made it relevant again, along with Jeff, Edge and Christian and The Dudleys. Some of the best matches I ever seen and were more than capable of headlining any PPV.
Obviously for continuity, the singles championship had to be the biggest but Matt, along with the above mentioned were phenomenal and often outperformed the main event. It was insanity what they were doing, and insanely entertaining.

  • @ErmacXtreme1991

Just watched the clip in question and there was literally no need for punishment whatsoever. Literally no one reacted. His gong went off, the druids bring the casket out and guys are still clapping and celebrating Ortons victory.
Cowboy Bob and Randy leave as Taker enters the ring, everyone else, Matt included stands there waiting to see what he’s gonna do. He kicks Dean in the face, a few guys attack him while Matt and a few others simply leave the ring.
Didn’t realise punishments in WWE were handed out for literally no reason.
    Also fuck JBL.
