The song is really a masterpiece. All are immensly talented. When Midori (Light hair) & Miyako (Dark hair) harmonize it's sublime. They are flawless. Miyako (Guitar/piano) is other-worldly. She is mesmerizing.
Thanks for your reaction. 'Etude Op.10, No.12' ( or 'Revolutionary Etude') by the Great Polish composer Frederic Chopin, which was written in 1831 and is dedicated to the Polish patriots who raised an uprising (1830-1831) against the Russian Empire, whose troops occupied Poland. 'Swan Song' ( lyrics - Asami / music - Miyako) from LOVEBITES third studio Album 'Electric Pentagram' (2020). For many centuries (starting from Ancient Greece) there is a legend, according to which Swans, non-singing, "silent" birds, acquire a voice a few moments before death, and this dying singing of Swans is amazingly beautiful. 'Etude' by F. Chopin and 'Swan Song' are dedicated to the warriors who died in battle. Therefore, at the concert, 'Etude' and 'Swan Song' are played together. In an interview given after the release of the 'Electric Pentagram' Album, singer Asami (a former ballerina, studied classical ballet for about 16 years before becoming a singer) said that when she wrote the lyrics of the song, she was thinking about the famous ballet P.I. Tchaikovsky 'Swan Lake'. During the performance of the song, Asami imitates the Swan (hand movements). And in the final part (piano Miyako), symbolizing the death of the Swan, Asami depicts the dying Swan on stage. Since the camera at the end of the song is focused on Miyako playing the piano, Asami's "death of the Swan" was not captured in the shot. Asami added some Scandinavian mythology (Valhalla) to the lyrics. The attitudes towards death among the Japanese Samurai and the Scandinavian Vikings were very similar. For Samurai and Vikings, death in combat with weapons in their hands is a death worthy of a warrior. Death in battle is better than death from old age in your bed. All Vikings dreamed of dying in battle because then they could go to Valhalla (Hall of warriors killed in battles) where they would meet God Odin and other Vikings who fought bravely and died in arms.
Chopin (pronounced Show-pan) was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the great classical composers, specializing in highly technical works for piano. "Etude" is French for "study". Chopin's Etudes were written as "studies", or lessons, for his students. They ended up being popular things for professional pianists to play as part of their concerts, in part to show off their skills. This is one of the more famous ones and is considered one of the most difficult ones. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a trained classical pianist, and was originally considering a career in classical music (other options included medicine and teaching). When she was 18, she picked up the guitar, and is now (quite obviously) an elite-level guitarist. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák and Chopin, as well as her stated favorite, Russian romantic composer Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). For this performance, she actually played the Etude as the intro, but it’s not always included in their shows.
YESSS!!! LOVEBITES with one of the most beautiful and glorious songs ever!!! I can hear this song every day. The official version from 2023 is great as well in that Asami surpasses this performance with her vocal delivery, especially as she rolls off notes in the chorus. Oh, that chorus!! Plus, she looks very glamorous and regal while doing it. However it does not have the Chopin intro. The studio track has layered vocals in the chorus, which sound amazing. Now, will you tear up during "A Frozen Serenade"?th-cam.com/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/w-d-xo.html
I have now seen 3 piano recitals by Miyako, where she plays both classical pieces *and* her arrangements of rock tracks, LOVEBITES and others. I can’t begin to tell you how moving those events were. Sublime.
Now you know why us in the Wolfpack love our Metal Queens. A group of ladies that are spectacularly talented and accomplished musicians. Mikako started playing piano at age 3 and has stated she is pianist first. She also plays bass and drums. She has even put and EP out last year of cover songs on piano of 6 rock/metal songs by Metallica, Yngwie Malmsteen, Helloween, Gary Moore, Deep Purple and Lovebites. I'm glad you like harmonized guitar playing because Lovebites songs have that in abundance. Keep your Lovebites journey going, lots more great songs to discover. Seeing that you like piano mixed in to the arrangement I recommend Lovebites - A Frozen Serenade 2021 LIVE in Tokyo with lyrics also Lovebites Lost in the Garden under Miyako Piano Solo "La Campanella" - Lost In The Garden Drink some tea with honey for that throat. Hope it's better soon.
My favorite version of this song - there are so many facets to this track, but Miyako's ability to seamlessly switch from piano to ripping guitar and then back to piano is just amazing. Every member of this band is exemplary, but there's something very unique with Miyako. When you factor in that she is the lead song-writer from the band also, it's mind blowing how much she contributes. Great reaction too. 🤘🎸🐺
Thank you for more LOVEBITES. The song listed below, "Addicted" music by Miyako, lyrics by Asami. Fastest 8min song ever, with never a dull moment. The intro / outro best I've ever seen in a metal song and to think it's LIVE! The outro gets me everytime, can't think of another song I can say that about other than A Frozen Serenade, Epilogue and Edge of the World - all Lovebites songs of course! Miyako - the 8th wonder of the world. What I could do with an ounce of her talent. Let's not forget she is a master song writer, composing half (if not more) of the band's songs. Well done. 🤘
It's nice to watch that smile just glue on to your face as the song goes on 😀If you watch videos from their latest DVD you'll see a different Miyako. She interacts, smiles, headbangs and moves around a lot more. It brings a lot of energy to the performances.
The piano piece at the start was written by Frederick Chopin (show-pan) and is a great illustration of Miyako's piano skills. I imagine there will be a lot of suggestions that you check out their live performance of A Frozen Serenade to follow ☺ Frozen Serenade (with subs) th-cam.com/video/sEjN7dAh4ok/w-d-xo.html
They’re all amazing. You can see them all smile, even Miyako briefly, in We the United, live on their official channel. It’s the band’s anthem. If you love this one, there’s a few with Miyako on piano. I think I’d recommend Frozen Serenade next. This one and that one belong in a museum. Also, getting emotional from a Lovebites performance? Yup, that’s normal!

LB makes epic or masterpiece songs and then there are ones that are both!!! If you want another one try Frozen Serenade LIVE for Asami's soft vocals, piano, acoustic guitar, M&M shredding and of course Asami's ballet dance!!!!! This band will ALWAYS surprise but will NEVER/EVER disappoint especially with any LIVE offering.
Miyako is just beyond belief. There’s video of her playing a keyboard with one handed her guitar in the other. Who said being a house wife and mother restricts a person?
Miyako comes from a Classical Music background that's why she has that ''serious'' attitude on stage, if you watch classical musicians perform, they usually are like super focused. If you check out her youtube channel, she has some vlogs and other videos from the studio, where she seems way more relaxed. Midori on the other hand is more of an oldschool rock/metal musician, she studied at the Tokyo Musician's Institute ( her teachers were in fact the guitar players from Babymetal Kami Band) and played with various bands at local clubs. So she has that "rockstar" stage attitude. There are a couple of videos with them from "Rock Fujiyama" TH-cam channel , it's a Japanese guitar talk show, co-hosted by Marty Friedman ( iconic, former Megadeth guitarist), where they talk about their favorite guitar players, how Lovebites started etc. They also do a jam with Marty and both seem like very sweet and chill ladies.
@@Abigirl_Reacts Another fun fact: singer Asami doesn't come from a rock/metal background. She studied jazz & classic ballet ( that's why you see her doing all these flowing movements on stage), before joining the band she was performing mostly R'n'B' and pop music. There's a video on TH-cam, where she performs a song of Alicia Keys. It's pretty remarkable seeing her going from this, to absolute metal queen. P.S. Asami performs every year a X-mas concert with other pop vocalists, this year again, where she sings X-mas related pop songs.
If you want to see a live performance of Miyako playing piano intro and Asami playing piano in the song as well - Lost in the Garden under Miyako piano solo "La Campanella" Lost in the Garden
Keep enjoying Lovebites!, but if you enjoy harmonized guitar solos like Lovebites, I definitely recommend Unlucky Morpheus as well because they have an incredible violinist in addition to their guitarists. You’ll experience two lead guitarists and a violinist taking turns on stage, each showcasing their own solo parts, along with harmonized guitar solos and guitar-and-violin solos, switching seamlessly throughout the night. Check out a song called Cadaver Revadac + music sheet. They essentially created two songs out of one-*Cadaver* plays from beginning to end, while *Revadac* plays from end to beginning. I hope this song touches you and makes you cry even more.😂
For more piano check out the "e-song" which are "Edge of the World", "Empty Daydreams" and "Epilogue" but i would also say have a look at "Spellbound" which is the only song i know ehere Miyako doesn't touch a guitar at all and only plays keyboards, and thats really a fun song.
People today can’t focus on one thing for more than like 5 seconds. It’s becoming more common among reactors that while the video is playing they’re looking at themselves…the video…around the room…the camera….it’s fascinating. I wonder if cellphones have anything to do with it.
If you want to see more synchronized guitar playing, check out one of the two songs ... maybe both. 🙂 Nameless Warrior -> th-cam.com/video/Dl29tiJCbNM/w-d-xo.html We the United -> th-cam.com/video/UnNxvgLI_Rg/w-d-xo.html
Miyako is so talented She play piano since she was 3 She is so amazing She was at this time pregnant Every member of Lovebites is incredible Welcome to the Wolfpacks (Lovebites fans arround the World) Great reaction
I subscribed on the impulse. (I do not often do that.) It seems that I love many of the same things in music and art generally that you do. This song is meant to bring out emotions, and it never fail to do so - for me, on the hundredth listen. "Saintly and glorious", forever. Chopin was picked for a reason, just as his Etude Op. 10 No. 12 is called "Revolutionary" for a reason. You felt it!
Awesome review. I love this song, the lyrics and the music are something I can really relate to. Miyako has composed songs with many composers as her inspiration, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Franz Liszt are the most prevalent. The band is also influenced by Helloween and Iron Maiden with some Metallica, Gary Moore, Dream Theater and many more.
Thanks for your reaction..There is No limit to Lovebites talent, presence, or showmanship,, and Miyako transcends mortal abilities..btw the line in the song actually, is, Its not the "Length" but depth of life that counts..idk how it got changed to "worth".. I've seen that change a few times recently..
Great and emotional reaction!!! Now, if you like Miyako, if you like piano and guitar, then you'll love the "Keytar" instrument so please react to this song "Lovebites Spellbound Heavy Metal Never Dies Live In Tokyo 2021"
It is known that many families in Japan, China, and Korea make their children learn piano from an early age. In Japan, even families who are not wealthy often make their children (especially girls) learn piano from an early age in order to enrich and enjoy life. I think that about 70% of Japanese rock/metal musicians can play the piano today. (This is just my guess.) However, even in the world of Japanese rock, musicians who have the talent to perform piano solo for an audience, rather than as an accompaniment, are rare. Miyako is definitely one of those who have that talent. * My monologue: Yuko Suzuhana, the main vocalist of another band I love, "WAGAKKI-BAND," is also an excellent pianist. However, "WAGAKKI-BAND" will end its activities next month. It's a shame. ---------- from Nippon *This is a sentence using Google Translate. I hope I have conveyed my intention correctly.
As i told you before in a comment, once you get to know lovebites you will come to love each girl, as you go through their play list you will see each one of them shine , thanks for the reaction , its always heart felt from you , cheers ,Tim from Australia
Nice reaction. I do recommend Miyako's TH-cam channel. ( Guitar & piano ). She mentioned that she found the Roland digital piano difficult or something like that.
Well, if you still have doubts whether Miyako is really unique and unrivaled and you also like the combination of keys and strings, then you should definitely check out their song 'Burden Of Time - Studio Live'. After that all doubts will be gone. 😉🤟🏻 _____________________ _"America invented rock. England improved it. Some knowledge of history is necessary to understand the meaning of the lyrics of this song. In 1831, some officers and citizens rose up against the Polish government, which was under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, leading to a revolution known as the “November Revolution,” which ended in failure due to the direct intervention of Russian troops. Chopin received this news during a performance tour. He never set foot on the soil of his homeland again. When the Russians invaded Warsaw, Chopin's representatives presented “Etude OP10, No. 12” in Paris. Franz Liszt, a friend of Chopin, named it the “Revolutionary Etude. Miyako (guitar/keyboards) composed “Swan Song” based on this “Revolutionary Etude” and Dvorak's “New World Symphony. Asami (vocalist), a former ballerina, wrote the lyrics inspired by Norse mythology and the ballet suite “Swan Lake,” based on the historical background of “Etude de la Revolution. SwanSong” is a requiem for the warriors who fought to reclaim their homeland, a masterpiece that only Love Bites could complete. Incidentally, the Roland electronic piano Miyako is playing was rented for this concert, and she touched it for the first time that day.
Great reaction If you want to be kicking butt by Miyako, you have to watch BURDEN ON TIME ( from the Live studio session for Awake Again recording during the lockdown) and focus on her. You will be surprised by MIYAKO talent.
Thank you for your nice reaction. Try Frozen Serenade (live) next. It is a masterpiece of songwriting like Swan Song. Listen to all the fine nuances they play ...... and Asami top of it all. This band ist awesome.
The ending piano part always seems to get to me also. I believe someone said that this is were the soldier of the song dies. Could be wrong but I swear I heard that before.

If you really want to see Miyako being playful during a song, Spellbound is the way to go. It is an homage to 80s Hair Metal era imo and as someone who grew up in that time, I smile everytime I see that performance. I won't link it directly but searching on TH-cam will bring you right to it
Just think, you are just barely scratching the surface of LoveBites. There's easily 45+ songs left that are each incredible and unique in their own special way. Since you enjoyed Miyako's piano, I would recommend "Empty Daydream" as your next reaction. The song also shows off Miyako's vocal skills with her harmonies with bassist Miho as well as with her "echo" of Asami's vocal lines during the chorus. Asami's R&B background also comes out in this piece. Heres a link for it th-cam.com/video/lXh_uMM94jU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5J_v4nN4CObT2t5J Enjoy.
@@Abigirl_Reacts NP. It's a shame Miyako and LoveBites aren't a global movement. Music lovers are missing out on one of the most gifted pop(ular) composer around. There's a 3 part series on her official channel where she walks through her process of creating a raw demo for a new song to submit to the band. She creates everything from the drums (including accents, and fills), rhythm guitar, outline for guitar solos, bass guitar and vocal melodies. The woman is incredibly talented, her generation's Prince imo, yet you would never know by how humble she is.
If you want to better see Miyako switch from guitar to piano, there is a youtube short video (from a different concert) here: th-cam.com/users/shortsn-JCqGxOcmw
Although that's the 2023 performance, not 2020. Could also be seen on the full video on LOVEBITES' TH-cam channel (recommended channel!). Same choreography, official live video, slightly different tempo, worse audio mix. And they didn't include the "Chopin intro" (which is technically a separate piano solo just before this track).
@@rainerzufall42 The view is not the same is in the official video for the full song. The short is extracted from the “Focus on Miyako” video that is a bonus on the KAHG 2 Blu-Ray. They did a bonus video for each band member where you see a whole song entirely focusing on that band member. For Miyako they chose Swan song. Miyako did the Chopin intro before the song. It is just not included in the official video, but it is on the Blu-Ray. Even on the 2020 Blu-Ray, the Chopin intro is considered a different track. The fact that they are together in a video is because the video is a fan upload from the Blu-Ray, not an official Lovebites video. As for the sound quality, I agree that the KAHG recordings are not as good as their other official live recordings. However, I consider we are spoiled by the quality of their live recordings, and I consider this is “good” compared to “excellent” for the others.
@@MarcelCox1 To the last paragraph: Yes, that's also my interpretation! The official video is quite good - if you are not used to the 2020 version, that has spoiled us a lot! LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics & credits:
If this was the last day you could live on this earth
Would you still go on, accusing someone for today
It’s better to fail than not do anything at all
It is not the length, but depth of life that counts
Oh brave soldier
Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
Floating lotus
You are so graceful
Saintly and glorious
Till the end of time
Floating lotus
You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song
The legend of the swan
If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been through despair
Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to never care
You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life
Sometimes the life of one can save so many more
Oh brave soldier
Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
Floating lotus
You are so graceful

You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song

But off stage, Miyako is a friendly figure and smiles easily

I can hear it every day too!
I have now seen 3 piano recitals by Miyako, where she plays both classical pieces *and* her arrangements of rock tracks, LOVEBITES and others. I can’t begin to tell you how moving those events were. Sublime.
I believe you!
Her piano cover of Helloween's Eagle Fly Free is amazing.
@@SilentDave Lovebites live studio cover of Eagle Fly Free is amazing too.
@@LoveOldMusic808 Yep, have it on my playlist. I'm hooked on these girls. Their talent is insane.
Seeing that you like piano mixed in to the arrangement I recommend Lovebites - A Frozen Serenade 2021 LIVE in Tokyo with lyrics
also Lovebites Lost in the Garden under Miyako Piano Solo "La Campanella" - Lost In The Garden
Drink some tea with honey for that throat. Hope it's better soon.
I've gone through so much honey, it's actually silly haha more rest, tea, and vitamin c is needed! (And honey!)
This is an amazing song. Thank you for the reaction ❤
Thanks for watching ^_^
There are so many Lovebites songs that I absolutely love, but Swan Song remains my favorite, and this performance of it is magical.
I can see why!
I'm still amazed how she can go back and forth between instruments!
The talent from them all is just off the scale

Hi Abs, I knew you would love this when you got to it. Simply a handful of incredible talents on one stage, this is a masterpiece.
So good! Miyako's skill is amazing!
Well done. 🤘
It did go by really fast, you're right haha thanks for watching ^_^

It's nice to watch that smile just glue on to your face as the song goes on 😀If you watch videos from their latest DVD you'll see a different Miyako. She interacts, smiles, headbangs and moves around a lot more. It brings a lot of energy to the performances.
That's awesome, thanks for telling me!
The piano piece at the start was written by Frederick Chopin (show-pan) and is a great illustration of Miyako's piano skills. I imagine there will be a lot of suggestions that you check out their live performance of A Frozen Serenade to follow ☺

Can't go wrong with anything I choose next so I can't wait!
Not the style I normally listen to, but they are so talented and this is definitely a masterpiece.
Same actually!
Miyako is just beyond belief. There’s video of her playing a keyboard with one handed her guitar in the other. Who said being a house wife and mother restricts a person?
"Burden Of Time" Studio-LIVE 2020: th-cam.com/video/4OBf_Gn8efs/w-d-xo.html
There's no restricting miyako!
I've heard she's quite relaxed off stage as well ^_^
@@Abigirl_Reacts Another fun fact: singer Asami doesn't come from a rock/metal background.
So this is how Chopin wanted to play it actually. He was missing just the Lovebites.
Haha 💯
Miyako “the Golden Touch” is a master in piano, guitar and composing. Asami in an interview says that every band needs a Miyako in their staff 😂🥰
That's awesome how much miyako is appreciated ^_^

I hope this song touches you and makes you cry even more.😂
Sounds incredible, added!

Added, thanks so much!
Also "A FrozEn SErEnadE"...
People today can’t focus on one thing for more than like 5 seconds. It’s becoming more common among reactors that while the video is playing they’re looking at themselves…the video…around the room…the camera….it’s fascinating. I wonder if cellphones have anything to do with it.
Lol in my case I tend to look at the volume mixer to make sure the sound is balanced compared to my voice volume for the recording.

I certainly did!
Wow those are great inspirations!
The next step could be: Frozen Serenade. Thank You!
Ok coming soon!

(This is just my guess.)
However, even in the world of Japanese rock, musicians who have the talent to perform piano solo for an audience, rather than as an accompaniment, are rare. Miyako is definitely one of those who have that talent.
* My monologue: Yuko Suzuhana, the main vocalist of another band I love, "WAGAKKI-BAND," is also an excellent pianist. However, "WAGAKKI-BAND" will end its activities next month. It's a shame.

@Abigirl_Reacts I guess we are not alone 🙂
Liked the piano part.
Oh yea, me too.
Thank you for the context!

Anything subperfect is crap!
To the main point: Yes, sorry, I was aware of that. But you can see Miyako move to the piano on the main video. The short was from a different perspective and obviously from the "Focus on Miyako" bonus content.
