Finally fed up of rebinding my twin VKBs and rudder pedals after every time windows decides to swap device IDs. I found this channel looking for a quickstart guide and feel like I discovered a gold mine. Your tutorials really are top class. You are well prepared, explain everything succintly and clearly without correcting yourself, backtracking or saying "err, ahhh, oh I forgot to say". These really are very, very professional tutorials. Thanks so much for your excellent quality content.
Great explanation! Very clear and easy to follow along. Appreciate how you zoom in on what your clicking on or typing so handy if watching via a phone/small screen. By far the best guide for this program. Thanks! 🙏
Genius, I never knew - you've just allowed me to get an extra 2 hats and 10 buttons so I don't need to let go of the stick unless it's for a peaceful action, such as landing gear - request to land is also very useful too as is Auto-Land if anyone uses that, personally I wouldn't trust it.
I use it a lot on stream and there were always a lot of questions so I started adding some tutorials around the major parts that come up. It's a niche topic but hopefully it helps someone looking for the info!
Tangential to your great videos on Joystick Gremlin, I'd love to see your setup for SC. I have a similar loadout of hardware, and am curious to know how you run your sticks and throttle, with pedals, without losing your mind. :D
This is really amazing and has given me a lot of ideas for Star Citizen. As for future content ideas, I just got a pair of Virpil Constellation Alphas and I’m having a heck of a time getting the LEDs set up to where each mode in SC (mining, scanning) as well as a few states (notably decoupled and cruise control) can change the stick LED to a different color. You mentioned you had VPCs- if you do, your clear style of presenting information would be a huge, huge addition to the pantheon of knowledge out there. There is a lot of jargon in this genre that I just don’t have yet, like is a hut and a hat the same thing? With 3.17 adding a dedicated button for calling ATC (omg finally), there is an opportunity for a tutorial to tie together all 3 layers of hardware, virtualization, and the application. So for example, I am going to try to figure out how to call for ATC, change the light on my left stick to indicate I am in landing mode, swap button bindings, and change my strafe sensitivity so I don’t hit the ceilings inside the hangars. The documentation for the VPC stuff in general is very sparse and written for experts. I would love someone to explain not only the what but also they why for different functions and switches - just like you did in this video. Great stuff and I hope you make a few more videos!
im getting confused with all these videos, i got my self a x56 hotas and im having issues with it while configuring . think its possible to make a vid or something abt how to map both throttle and joysticks can be configured. thx
I got a switch slider which pushes a button when it's locked in. Trying to figure out if I can disable the button pushing if the joystick axis is within a certain range.
i'm conceptually an INCH away from getting this working but something isn't clicking for me, and I need help, please. I've got the modifier setup to do VTOL on a single thumb button press and LANDING GEAR on the modifier pinky + thumb button, but star citizen is deploying both simultaneously when I try to use the modifier. What is missing from my gremlin/keybind here? How do i ensure the vanilla button key bind (VTOL in my example) is not registered by star citizen when I have the modifier key held down, so that I only get the second function (LANDING GEAR in my example) only? Thank you a million if you have time to shoot me a reply.
Hi! Nice videos! I am searching for a way to cycle through different Buttons x,y,z with each press of one button a so first time "a" becomes "x" second time "a" becomes "y" third time "a" becomes "z" and a forth time "a" becomes "x" again Is that possible?
Thanks! What you want to add is a "Chain" from the second dropdown on top. Inside the Chain you can specify multiple groups of actions. Each time you press the physical button, it triggers the next action in the chain. So you would just bind each action in the chain to X, Y and Z respectively and it loops through them each time you press the button.
hey so I have thrustmaster t16000's and I followed your guide. When I launch it, it is always in shift mode by default until I pull the left trigger which is my modifier key. Is there a way to make it always start in default mode?
I've got it all working relatively fast but there is one little anoying problem. Joystick gremlin will only work if i open it right after a reboot. I i close it down I cannot open it up again. Also if I wait a minute after rebooting it will not start at all. In all these cases the program just says "vjoy is not present or incorrectly setup" I followed your guide to the letter and even repeated it a couple of times to no avail. Any idea whats causing this? googling didn't help me at all.
i set up joystick gremlin with squad . @ joysticks , works great . The next day . it does not work . I just cant figure this out . I do the set up again and it works. Shut the computer down . Next day , same problem . And yes i saved the profile . Any ideas why this is happening ?
Interesting. You mentioned you're saving the profile. Can I assume you're also starting it the next day as well ( green button when activated). Do the joysticks actually show up in gremlin when it's not working? I wonder if you bind a keyboard keybind and test in notepad, is it working there when it doesn't work in the game?
@@RedLir_Live Hey Red . Thanks for the reply .Yeah i activate the profile . The joysticks are hidden and only the virtual joystick shows up ,and when i checkthe input nothing happens .i have to hide the actual joysticks with hidguardian so the game does not see them ,otherwise all the axes are screwed up . Maybe thats the problem the next day ? I will try the notepad and see what happens . Do you run and Gremlin in admin mode ? When i created the profile i ran gremlin in normal mode . and not in admin mode . Maybe thats the problem ? Thanks again ..
I've run it in both admin and non. When you say they're hidden are they showing up in JG though? They should be there once you whitelist the JG exe in hid guardian.
@@RedLir_Live I think we solved it . I had the game squad white listed in HG and not Joystick Gremlin . So i took out the game squad in the whitelist and added Joystick Gremlin instead , and it seems to be working now . I guess i added the wrong program to the white list . So you dont add the game just JGremlin to the white list correct ?

@@RedLir_Live Inspired by Nerd and Noob, I would love to build out an entire cockpit. Software like this is very exciting. =)
This has saved me so many headaches with DCS. Thanks for the great tutorials!

Will definitely save this for a later date. (no gaming rig at the moment)

I suppose this is easy, but can you use Voice Attack to switch modes in Gremlin? What would be the best way for that?
