    Bought these back in October there wasn’t many reviews about for them so took a punt on them and they are really comfy and durable. Used them a few times in the lakes and last time while carrying 17kg backpack over 2 days and they offered great support. After walking on rocky terrain for hours my balls of my feet do start to hurt by the end but I honestly believe that would happen in any boots

    Fantastic.. I recently bought the manta tech. (I feel like I won't be able to use them until next Winter) scarper boots are always incredible quality

      Agreed, I've been using Scarpa Terra's for a number of years now and they've been faultless. Harry

    I have the boots and they're brilliant boots that are very comfy straight out of the box.

    After looking around for ages for boots Ive decided on these as found them on sale. This review (like all Trekkit reviews) is incredibly detailed. You guys are just great. I take it the new model will be out soon if this review is now 7 months old?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers David. The Trek model stays the same for next year, so you won't have to worry about anything becoming outdated/replaced.

      I would visit us in our shop in Hereford if you can. It's almost impossible to fit footwear online unfortunately. I'd hate to recommend something to you that turns out to be terrible as I haven't seen your feet/had you try on a few different pairs.

    The PRESA soles on my Scarpa shoes began to wear out even after I brushed them before use. I know that there are several types of PRESA with a balance of tenacity and durability against wet rocks, but is the outsole durable?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In general we find the Presa soles to be durable for their intended purpose, however your mileage (quite literally) may vary depending on a whole host of factors. Boot soles will wear faster in particularly tough environments, the users gait can produce uneven wear, improper maintenance, carrying heavier loads. There are multiple factors that can reduce the lifespan of your boots outsole.

    Been looking at these. So can you tell me the difference between these and the pro version. And they’re designed for UK hiking. And how do they run size wise. I usually take 9 is it worth going up a half size. Many thanks

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As far as I can work out, the Pro is a slightly stiffer, more robust version. Generally they run true to size but it's worth trying a pair on if you can.

    What would you recommend for cleaning / protecting these boots and do they need protection before use ?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're good to go from the box, no need to protect before use. This kit is perfect for cleaning and maintaining them: www.trekitt.co.uk/footwear/washing-water-repellency-care/grangers-footwear-repel-and-footwear-cleaner-275ml-twin-pack__43841

    Great review, you mention that these have a reasonable amount of volume in these. Are you able to recommend any boots for a long narrow, low volume foot?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  17 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Depends a little on the type of boot you need, and where possible we would always recommend heading to your local footwear specialist (ideally us if you're local enough to Hereford...) to have your feet measured and fitted. Don't be surprised if you still require some adjustment to these boots with volume reducers if your feet are very low volume. Ben has to volume reduce most of these boots still and has similar feet to yours based on your description. But a few lower volume options that we stock would be:

    Man I'm really stuck. I bought the scarpa manta boots and love them. I think they're overkill for summer walking so I'm looking for a lighter boot. I'm really stuck between the scarpa rush tech and the salomon quest 4. T'is a tough decision!

      @@trekitt Which of the two tend to run wider?

    • @sdemosi
      @sdemosi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Rush fit seems pretty similar to my Scarpa Zodiacs. I'm used to Scarpa boots and shoes and these didn't surprise me. What I mean is the ankle is narrow and holds your foot in place but there's more generous width in the mid foot and tapering in the toe. The toe box is roomier than it looks but it does taper more than the Salomon.
      It"s all down to fit and Scarpa works for me. They could do with more cushioning insoles (I replace mine) but the Rush seems a bit better than some of their older shoes.

    What Scarpa boots for scrambling?

    • @trekitt

      I'd give our customer service team a ring/email and they'll be able to help you as it'll require a few more questions to figure out the grade of your scrambles, which footwear you currently use, etc.

    So uncomfortable boots I expected much more from this IKSystem. My feet wanted to get out of these boots after 10 mile. Had pain underneath my foot and on top. The sizing is spot on but idk .... It is waterproof Ive tested them and the grip is great . I have them from 2 months but I have 5 day hike I had to buy other shoes. For summer idk .. maybe in a very rocky terrain yes. i will see i will try to wear them somewhere. I like the shoes but i really wished they were more comfortable

    A bit disappointing review. You do cover most of the points but you miss the lacing system. And it's very nice since it features locking and allows different tension between upper and lower parts. Which helps in a number of situations. Also you may have missed to mention explicitly that the sole is a bit stiff. There is a bend in the forefoot of course, but not too much.
