      @azrielisrael8505 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jwoldner3926 i am a little confused by your question using 'order.' yes, HaShem instructs us, that is the point of studying Torah and the Talmud. HaShem wants us to want His Will, "to become what He says. and therefore, leaving room for us not to do it." 23:35.
      watch the entirety of the whole video. i feel Rabbi Friedman answers your question much more satisfactory. if not, i hope somebody is able to come along and explain it differently.
      the question i believe you are asking is much deeper than a few words response. and i've never felt 'ordered' to follow HaShem's Will. i have been 'instructed/taught/continually study' to aim this short existence to doing His Will and not mine because i choose to. i don't feel 'ordered...' never felt 'ordered.'
      in addition, english is very limited in expression compared to Hebrew. there is an actual Power in words. anywho, hope the video in its entirety helps out because i believe Rabbi Friedman explains this very well in his talking points.

    PAY ATTENTION at 1:10:02
    Deformed writings or mistranslations in subtitles can cause unnecessary trouble in our tense world.
    The system of SUBTITLES often DEFORM WORDS. At 1:10:02 it's written "so you are a murderer and a little muslim".
    This is NOT what Rabbi Friedman says. He says the following: " So you are a murderer and a 'shlimazel' ", which is a word in Yiddish. It means a person without luck.

    I once attended a Zen Buddhist weekend Meditation retreat…
    There were rules about every tiny thing…
    From the color of clothing, to which foot to enter a room, how to walk, sit, eat, and clean our individual food bowls…
    There was no talking. And everything was highly controlled and uniform… there was no “freedom”… at least not in the way we normally think of freedom…
    About halfway through the weekend, I noticed that I was starting to recognize my peers by the sound of their foot steps… or by the way they breathe…
    It got to the point that I could identify someone by the quality of their presence without looking at them
    I also began to notice myself more…. independent of the usual labels, identities, and layers of “mental stuff” that I had been attached to…
    A certain kind of freedom began to emerge that seemed much more pure and truly independent than just the “do whatever I want” sense of freedom…
    The restrictions, the uniformity, and severely limited options actually resulted in more freedom and revealed everyone’s undeniable uniqueness
    It was one of the most amazing experiences in my life…
    Everyone should do Zen meditation at some point in their lives…
    It’s an experience that has the potential to bring people to their senses…. Literally

    • @brachashighhopeshomestead226
      @brachashighhopeshomestead226 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK But meditation isn't s mitzvah, you have to go beyond thinking or perceiving. Mitzvahs affect in this world. it's not a command of Gd in this world. it's a physical world that requires physical activity like moving of the lips at least. what good is our perception when it comes to giving G-d pleasure? this you cannot perceive in this world...

    • @jetdeleon
      @jetdeleon ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brachashighhopeshomestead226 - A man who was diagnosed with severe depression decided to attend a meditation retreat…
      At the retreat he learned how to sit still and observe the inner workings of his mind and his emotions…
      During his time at the retreat he was given all the necessary accommodations needed to practice in a safe and peaceful environment… including breakfast and lunch…
      There were custodians, cooks, administrators, and of course the Zen teachers who all worked together as a cohesive unit to ensure that every practitioner's needs were met.
      After the retreat, the depressed man continued to use the tools he learned and eventually overcame his depression…
      Having become better equipped to cope with the stresses of daily life, he went back into the community and began to work again….
      He also began to share what he learned about meditation to others… who then began to improve their own lives, etc.
      Was the staff at the retreat not performing mitzvahs the whole time they were serving their attendants?
      Did the depressed man not do a mitzvah by passing on the practice that allowed him and many others to live happier, more productive lives?
      Could he have helped those people had he not done the difficult work and daily practice of meditation?
      Maybe G-d is bigger than one religion can manage?

    Had a very low, dark moment in my life just a few years ago. Was doing drugs and had a run in with authorities. Vehicle was impounded and I was arrested. Bailed out and had a voice tell me to run! Now after 5 years have been emailed about a court date by bail bonds company about a mandatory court date. Have basically been threatened to show or have a warrant issued. Lot has happened since then. New family, etc. Praying of what to do. Since that voice back then said to run! I'm sure I'll make the right choice as the moment nears. Just hoping for another voice of what to do? Have had past dealings with this county and they are dangerously evil and corrupt. I'm sure nothing has changed.

    This can only make sense from the perspective that all of time is laid out.. from beginning to end. From a granular perspective - in consideration of a single individual and a specific moment in time - it would be clearer to say, that He knows what choices we will make, because to Him, as being 'in the future' all of the choices have already been made. It can only make sense that as time was 'built', just as we live our part of it, God would need to know 'what you were going to do' in order to respond and construct His planning. One's choices are made first, and God does 'respond' as to route to the ultimate - which is the end of time. Had to watch that part a few times as the ladies were on the attack. 🥰

      Not to steal.

      If I understand correctly, the answer is that if get to know yourself, like one of the women who participated points out, then you can choose to heal or work to choose to superspeed your instincts and nature as well as any blocks in your subconscious because now they are conscious. However you still do not have a choice whether or not the outcome fails or succeeds, for example you could choose to give someone Tzeddaka with a smile or not, but if you do not have a coin to give at that particular time, you cannot give the Tzeddaka.

    Another perspective, one of the apples is on the right side and one on the left side. Now I can choose the one on the right side. Just like the brain (right hemisphere & left hemisphere) there is a reason for everything. I breath through my left nostril to give oxygen to the right side of the brain and activate its purpose of existence and for being on the right side. Imagination, Intuition, Creativity, The Feeling Of Freedom, Life. There is a reason for everything Im experimenting on myself 😜 getting to know me better, why do we have two ears, does one understand one thing and the other another? Why?

    Free Choice is choosing between two options. The truth is there is quick decision or snap / within seconds you make that the brain don't need a long period of time to process and the other is a long process before making final decision. It is the same thing using your freedom to choose. Whatever the conditon of the body and situation you are in and the 5 senses of the body it affects how you choose. Wether your making rationale decision or making judgement or between life and deathe the brain process everything before making final decision/ what you choose. Everybody have that instinct/intuition/gut .

The trees did not want to be eaten and so they bore fruit instead of becoming edible themselves as Hashem commanded. Does this mean that Hashem does not control everything or that He gave free will to other things aside from Man?

    Adam & Eve choose to disobey God and God told them before they disobey what would happen. Before the world there was no death..because of their choice now we have death. God told them they could have anything in the garden but 1 thing & they chose that 1 that did harm..God wants us to listen to Him..He knows what's best for us that won't hurt us.

    I enjoy the knowledge that you impart on all that I watch.
    I struggle with the interruptions of your audience. We see only you. Makes an impression of a lecture from a professor. As I listen and follow along with what you are saying, I become agitated every time someone speaks from your audience, causing you to stop and listen. From the point of view of a viewer watching this on TH-cam, it is not beneficial to have your audience speak out interactively with you as if it is a conversation as opposed to an informative lecture. The type of set-up and format that you are recording this, it gives a different impression of what is happening, making the interruptions from the audience seem rude and out of place, regardless of whether they are or not. For the in person audience that you are speaking in front of, it may seem good. From the point of view that I have as a viewer watching a recording on TH-cam, it is not so good. It is disruptive.
    I would recommend keeping the two types of speaking separate. Lectures recorded for an online audience without interruptions from others speaking in the background. Just your wonderful self recording and imparting knowledge for all of us who enjoy learning from you. The lectures with the live interactive audience as an addition to your already hard work but labeled as such. So that those that benefit from one or the other can have what is most beneficial to them, having you offer both as options.
    Thank you for taking the time to impart knowledge. You are making a positive difference, even if it is only with me.

    Did Pharaoh have a choice . I don't think he did. God said he was a vessel chosen for this very thing. God harden his heart and would not let the people go. So that God would show His marvelous power to His people. Just saying

      I wonder what do you think about Jacob and Esau, they were already fighting inside the womb, and God said, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” Something like that, to me, Esau had no choice but his fate was lay down to him.

    For the addict, they have to choose to use drugs, gamble, etc. Thieves, murderers, liars, Also make choices; however, people who are not prone to do those things, by obeying G-d’s commands, are free from choosing.
