I'm what one might call a classic/vintage shaver and also a daily shaver. I use vintage Gillette and Gem razors. I also use straight razors and some modern DE razors like the Muhler R41, the Edwin Jager DE89 and the Fatip open comb DE razor. I work up my lather in a classic barber style shaving mug or a vintage shaving scuttle. I apply a hot towel with a couple of drops of fragrance oil either Sandalwood or Lavender to my face. I then lather up and do a three pass shave. After the shave, a cool rinse then Pinaud Clubman after a dry down then Clubman talc followed with Paul Sabastian Fine Cologne "also a barber shop scent". I then put on my shirt , tie slacks, and dress shoes, and now I'm good for the day. I get complements all the time on how I look and smell. Looking good is as important as smelling good. A classic gentleman always stands out from the rest. Be a Gentleman be a Clubman. lol.
First, I enjoyed the Paganini violin piece, La Campanella, that you played during the video. I have used Clubman since 1962. It is a close copy of Canoe by Dana. When Dana stopped making it in France and began making it in Canada, it lost its charm and is not the same formula. So, Clubman is still my choice for that clean masculine barber shop scent Also like Bay Rum by Pinaud . Great value for these two Pinaud fragrences. My back up in the 1960s was Old Spice, which is a great scent. I still use it on occasion. However, my favorite signature scent for the last 7 years is Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford. Daniel Craig uses it ( James Bond actor). Last week I discovered Sublime Vanille by Creed. These two magnificent vanilla scents cost me about $399 and $529. Will probably use only Clubman when these expensive colognes run out. It is the one that I would use if I had only one to choose and use.
Mr. Ryan, this is a great video on Pinaud Clubman. I came across Clubman watching a video about barber shop fragrances. I just realized I am old school. I wear Quorum, Agua Brava, Brut, and Pinaud Clubman. I shave at night, so I wear them before I go to sleep. Currently I am wearing Pinaud Clubman Reserve, it is a stronger scent. They are after shaves, I have not worn the classic Pinaud during the day. I will give a try. GOD Bless Mr. Ryan!!
Hi. You said 2 best colognes. Givenchy Gentlemen, and what’s the other one? Also, what’s the difference between the Pinaud in this video versus the “musk” version? Thank you.
Aftershaves are more of a personal scent thing to wear I don’t want everyone to smell what I have on my face unless it’s someone that will be super close to me like my lady or child cologne is to smell good for yourself and others. A good signature aftershaves scent is Executive Man by Stirling Soaps subtle yet smells so good it’s their take on Creed Aventus
i subscribed from the brut review, i love ur reviews, could you do club pinaud special reserve aftershave? i'm confused by it and i'm not sure if i want to buy it or not.
Oh fresh new channel? You convinced my immediatly with your quality work. Love it. SUB!
Thank you!

It’s best used in a rotation same as old spice that scent used everyday gets old fast
Portland Maine or Oregon?
Very nice work my friend. Have yourself a sub and it’d be great to see you do some 1st impressions when you can 🙌
Thank you Miles, and yea, I got several 1st impressions lined up. Stay tuned
Clubman is a classic Barbershop standard. Nothing says Barbershop more.
I just have to have pinaud clubman on my shaving table, and Im going to the rest of my life!
Penaud, is pronounced Pay-know. This is in my top 3 with Brute and Old Spice. These are old barber smells.
thanks for sharing that
Nice history...but it's pronounced "PER-NO!"
What was your two go-to scents you mentioned?
