I've got the 5.3 in my non-Denali version. It's an Envoy XL, and despite being heavier it's pretty quick thanks to the factory 4.10s. Stock it did 0-60 in 6.8sec, not bad for a 5200lb landyacht! It's an LS, so of course it's not stock anymore!
@@UTINNI_36 the 5.3 V8 was a fairly rare factory option on the Envoy XL and XUV (a cool version that the roof opens up in back like a pickup, because GMC didn't offer an Avalanche). So mine came with the V8. Also offered on the short wheelbase Denali version. I believe Chevy offered it on the Trailblazer EXT, but most were 4.2's (inline-6, not V6!) which is also a great engine (but most came with gear ratios that neuter its 270+hp). The 5.3 with 4.10 gear ratios makes the heavier XL quite torquey. Chevy also offered the 6.0 LS2 from Corvette in the Trailblazer SS, SAAB offered it on their high performance version of this platform, I forgot the name, 9-7 Aero? Quite a bit more $$ for those two, obviously!
Holy shit that sounds heavenly for small block 5.3. I found an ‘05 Denali with 154k mikes for 4K. Tried to convince myself I don’t need it but this doesn’t help.
Mine had 140k miles on it when I bought it and the seller claimed that the engine was blown. Still went to go look at it and it was just a misfire... walked away with a running denali that needed a set of spark plugs for $600
My mom in law left us an onyx black 4x w 93k Feels like the exhaust really is holding back it's full potential. She's awfully quiet.... Awfully quiet, lol
Wow. $600, quite a deal. The motor alone is worth more than that. Will be fun. If yours is 4wd, and you cam it and pull motor, it sucks since the 4wd goes through the oil pan!
Just want to verify is that with cat delete or with the cats still on? She is loud af. Sounds good. I’m thinking about making my completely straight with no cats
Can you Stright pipe it yourself from a TH-cam video if you know nothing d our cars or should I take it to a shop ? And how much did it cost ? I just picked up a 5.3 Denali envoy
Very simple to do yourself. I did it for pretty cheap, its not a professional job by any means but on a vehicle like this who really cares. I don’t remember the exact inner and outer diameter of the pipe. But once you cut off the resonator+muffler you can measure that and just replace that portion of the pipe and use exhaust clamps. And find a tip that you like and put it on. Basic stuff
@@GenXAuto thanks! Don’t want any idiot lights popping at me lol. Looking for that true v8 sound! Not to loud due to my daily is a 08 envoy Denali. I figured if I added a “black widow - venom 250 “ it’s a 14 inch long muffler should work good
@@quaaludeezz9020 ya it will sound good! I suggest a DOD delete, the idle when cruising got annoying and weird sounding due to the cylinder deactivation. I think there is a obd plug in to delete it temporarily instead of having to crack open the engine to permanently delete it. But thats a strong suggestion. It was never good for these engines, usually leads to lifter failure

What size pipe did you run? Diameter and length? It slipped inside the existing exhaust pipe from where the muffler previously was? And as are as the back did u cut the resinstor off and add the 3inch tip?
It was all 3 inch pipe that I used. The length was just the same length as the pre existing muffler and as for the tip, I had that laying around and decided to use it!

First of all. What engine do you have? If you have the 4.2L inline 6 then it will not sound like this. This is the 5.3 V8. If you have the 6 cylinder I dont suggest modifying your exhaust they really dont sound that good
@@jeffphillips7372 ya man I used to have the i6 envoy, still a great vehicle forsure. But when I had the chance to get my hands on the denali it was a no brainer. We’re all suckers for a good ol 5.3

Oh man, gotta at least ditch the cats.
That is a better option😂
