    This was outstanding. You are a saint, your wife is a queen, and you both should live long, happy, and blessed lives - and may that dryer last a lifetime! God bless you both!!! 🙏🙏

    I did this once years ago and it was so difficult to figure it out. You are one of very few people who have a video. Here I am again replacing the element after a few years and I forgot how to get into this bad boy. I don’t think they could have made it more difficult. Very grateful for your video to jog my memory.

    Thank you very much for posting this video. I am a female senior and I want to learn how to 'deep' clean this type of clothes dryer. It is never too old to learn! Thank you in advance

    Thank you for this video!! Saved me lots of time!! I was already taking off the back panel before I came across your video. 😂 I was able to replace the thermal fuse and it ran for a bit but then it stopped heating. Just took it apart again. Fuse is bad again and continuity is good for the element and thermostat. The research continues 🤷

    • @WatchorPass
      @WatchorPass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have you cleaned out the lint and everything from it? If it gets too hot it could trip the fuse, so maybe there's something causing it to heat up too quickly?

      @@WatchorPass Sorry for the late response. Ended up finding out that the heating element was shorting which caused the new fuse blow again. Went ahead and replaced the whole assembly. Dryer is working like new. Thanks again. 👍

    Thanks, this really sped up my disassembly time which is the hardest part for anyone with even descent mech skills, if you don't know where to start, I will often break stuff taking it apart and ..... I just replaced all the gas side components, and cleaned it up real good, replaced belt also, was already in there might as well. Should get another 5 years out of it I hope 8). Inflation is definitely making me dust off my tools.

      Awesome! So glad it helped. Like I said in the video, I spent like 3 or 4 days just trying to figure out how to open it. Once it was open and I had the right manual, it was pretty quick to disassemble.
      Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

    Thanks man for this very informative video. Thanks to you, I learned the quickest, easiest way to get to the thermal cut-off - I simply tipped the unit on its face, cut 3 sides of a 8" square hole in the upper left quadrant with tin snips approximately where your vid showed me I needed to access, folded it back and took the part out. Replaced the part and then folded the flap back to cover the hole. About 15 minutes total work.

    Thank you for this video. I found the top very easy to remove by just pulling up lightly on the corner while popping a short screwdriver straight back against the clip. Did this on each side and clips released very easy

  • @johnknaus1127
    @johnknaus1127 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    now that I know where the clips are, used a narrow putty knife and found that down pressure on the top while pushing on the clip made it a lot easier.

    Heads up you can take the tube off running out of the back of the dryer instead of taking completely apart and reach inside to replace the thermal fuse and high temp sensor. You do have to take it apart for the heating element twice .
    I had the red wire burn through on thermostat. Both sensors were good this time. I took completely apart and found a thermistor on the back of the blower that I think may be bad as it did not have continuity. Ordered one and I am going to try that.

    To open the lid you’ll need 2 flat head screwdrivers one to stick in between the lid and door and the other to push the clip to release the lid from the door very easy once you doit. (Appliance flipper 8590)

    How do you put the belt back on? I never got to see how it was placed onto the pulley

    • @WatchorPass
      @WatchorPass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That was tough for me to film. I think this video has a pretty good visualization of it. You have to feed it around the pully that is spring loaded, and around the other pully that is stationary. Then the spring pully retracts to give it a tight fit.

      don’t remember specifically but I made sure not to move the cables much so I would remember which one went where. I don’t remember it being too difficult other than there not being much slack.

    Two screws and the entire heating unit comes out from under the drum. 5 minutes to fix. You do not need to disassemble the dryer.

    • @WatchorPass
      @WatchorPass  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think that's the case with this dryer but I would love to be proven wrong. I messed around with it a lot and there was no easy way to get to the heating elements.

    • @matthiggins8307

      @@WatchorPass Great informative video! There's a tab that goes into the back of the heating element assembly holding it in. If you remove the support bracket in the front (which I assume are the two screws he is referring to. Four screws to completely remove), then you should be able to get the entire assembly out w/out the removal of the drum. Takes a bit of finagling but it can be done! :)
