I love the Hulk, I think the green is amazing. I do not like Kermit. The hulk can look at different colors depending on how the light hits it but I do not like what people are selling them for. Way over list price. It is just a sub but the Green dial and Bezel is awesome color combo. Thanks for the video.
I saw an absolutely lovely "Hulk" in an authorised dealers in 2011. Then it was priced at just over £5,000 new. I had the money at the time, and sorely regret not getting it.
Hey TGV, dońt breake the rules. It is already October. The audience is already waiting for your current Collection. 4 parts to show needs a lot of preparation. 😎😉
I absolutely cannot stand wearing green clothing but there is something about a green Sub that melts my heart. I honestly couldn’t make the choice between this and a black Sub.
I love green. My favorite color in general. The dial is gorgeous. But I’ve always felt unconvinced by colored ceramic bezels. There’s something milky about the color, something off. I always prefer the anodized color of aluminum bezels when there’s a color involved. I think this Rolex would be perfection if it had a black ceramic bezel with that green sunburst dial. Other than that, lets get more German watch brand reviews TGV!
IL MOSTRO try looking at oris aquis green. It has a darker green than the sub. I bought that instead of the hulk bc of that reason. And it's significantly cheaper
That's interesting, I like that sort of pastel look that ceramic bezels give, but I get that you don't care for it. If everybody liked the same thing life would be boring.

It's the best rolex sub ever made. I'm beyond glad and happy every time I look at the one I have. The dial is mesmerizing and they knocked the color out of the park. I haven't seen another green dial watch come even close.
I don't mind the Hulk but like you pointed out the bezel is a bit flat, which is why I have always preferred the Kermit. The tone of green gives it a fresher look and its more to my taste. My favourite Sub is my 16610 😋
I'm used to hearing Jerusalem more whilst watching the 6 Nations Rugby I must say, FYI hearing that sung around a packed stadium when England are playing is something special to behold.
How nice to remind us of William Blake. He, too, wasn't receiving the appreciation of contemporaries as I he could have been, perhaps due to his eccentric nature - him claiming to be accompanied by visions of Angels from his early life onwards. And a somewhat sophisticated idea to use this hint of rejection to reflect the what "the Hulk" does experience from many people, all in combination with the more obivous reference to "green pastures", even if the first might have been accidental - I love it.
There's been a lot of speculation regarding Jerusalem the hymn and did the events really happen. Worth a Google , possibly visiting Glastonbury. Personally , I don't believe it , mainly because everyone knows Scotland is God's Country 😇😁 although Perthshire is a possible birthplace of Pontius Pilate 🤷
I'd love to get that Harrods Tudor, and I wish i had known about it before I got my standard Black Bay for my 30th birthday earlier this year. I have family in the UK, and they could have helped me to get my hands on one.
Actually chaps, your both right! The music is indeed the Chopin movement you mention and the the words are from Blake's "Jerusalem". So a mash of sorts, but glad to know I have such cultured souls among the Gentry! Thank you chaps, Best regards, TGV
I love green and I also own a sub hulk. Yes, i do agree that it really hard to match with your clothing, after a while u will get bored and tired of matching your clothed just for the watch, which sucks :/
No doubt a true gem of a watch. TGV your camera work around the dial and bezel did excite me so much, I do see the Hulk as a great fun version and I can only imagine how much fun and joy owning one could bring. Contrary to your thoughts, I feel the bezel tone compliments the lustre of the dial. However, with the choice available and all prices considered, I'm not sure i would pick this over other iterations on offer. If fun was the name of the game, maybe a 11613 blue dial bicolour or the black dial version would trump it??? Great show TGV and man that intro, you nearly had me in tears
I like how you added on-street daylight footage. I can only recall you did it traveling the US(obviously it's just my observations). Not only it displays the timepiece better but shares the wardrobe ideas.
What a fantastic intro dear TGV! One of the most beautiful you ever did! Your voice harmonizes perfectly for reading poems, please bring us more of these in the future! 😊 As always, thank you for bringing us this great content & brightening up the days of so many people with your videos.
Absolutely wonderful video. I'm not the biggest Rolex fan but the Hulk is my favorite one of them all - right up there with the Explorer 1. And green is my favorite color. Maybe, one day ...
Great review and even greater intro! Well done! When I first saw the "Hulk" in pictures and videos, I just was not attracted to it. That was the case for a couple of years. However, when I saw one in the metal, wow! I still don't understand up to now what happened but I was hooked right then and there! Ironic because I didn't even like the color green. It's such a cliche but really, pictures and videos don't do the green sub justice. It's perfect as a second or third watch but not for the one watch guy. Cheers!
I recently got into watches and now I am binging your content. Keep it up! Since I am only 22, i had to start small, so i bought a swatch, a Casio F-91W and yesterday a beautiful Tissot Le Locle Powermatic 80 with the black leather strap and white dial. Love it! Greetings from Switzerland
I never liked the 116610LV and certainly would never pay any premium on it. I much prefer the 16610LV pre ceramic anniversary model. Much more tasteful classic looking watch and more collectible.
TGV or others on the channel: my father-in-law just showed me an ancient Rolex DateJust in yellow gold. I'm guessing 1950-1970, as it was his grandfather's watch (he worked on a train line, so I'm sure it was a necessity for the job). It has an "accordion" expansion bracelet, and cyclops eye, but I can't seem to find an example online to figure out the reference #. Is there a good, reputable place I could ask about this, and to do refurbishment on the watch? It's actually so old that the glue holding the hour makers on has disintegrated so some of them have fallen off the watch! Still runs though.... wow.
The 40mm size on your wrist looks like the 43mm size on mine. It’s a very unique color indeed. However, picking a green dial and bezel sub as an only watch may not be a clever thing to do. Edit: by the way, the app you recommended is amazing. Thanks.
TGV, I truly love your intro in this one. I also like the Submariner, but the green is so lovely compared to others. The dial is wonderful. I like how it changes with the light as you mentioned. The bezel with its muted green is quite nice, but I agree with you about the reverse Kermit. Another wonderful video, my friend. Cheers!👍♥️
Thanks. That was a refreshing and candid review of a watch that I lust after just a bit. Admittedly, since I first saw it, I've occasionally wondered if Rolex was just pandering to base fashion appeal( "Ducati's are always better in red!"(?!)….as it's hardly groundbreaking of them....and if that really matters. I admire that dark green enough that I've opted for a green bezel insert on my SKX. There's something enticing about it..
British Racing Green originated in 1903. Racing was illegal in England at the time, so when the Gordon Bennet Cup was held in Ireland that year, British cars were painted green as a show of respect to Ireland for letting them race. The dark shade of forest green later became synonymous with British racing cars and was named British Racing Green.
Middle ground: It's a fine looking watch that has become horribly overpriced because of artificial restriction of supply and isn't worth paying $16k for.
I love green watches, and I deed the colour In general. Sadly the Hulk is beyond my current means, so I opted for a current Seiko in this same colour scale. I'm glad that more brands are introducing green in their finish options.
Probably my favorite submariner would have to be the 116613LN, something about a two-tone sub just looks right, though i have to say that inverse kermit rendition looked amazing, or maybe something like that with a blue sunburst & black bezel - now that would be the ultimate! Great video as always, can you do one on the Yachtmaster? I feel it definitely deserves more love, especially considering it almost replaced the submariner before it was released
That reverse Kermit rendering looked really great IMO. And might make for a fitting replacement of the Hulk combined with the latest 3235 movement, if it is ultimately discontinued.
Hi TGV Yes, it is an acquired taste. On the other hand; I would be willing to change my wardrobe to match this watch. Off cause the black version is the safe choice but this one is just as classic on its own terms. Really like that attitude. A classic (-and classy) brand like Rolex doesn’t have to do much to raise an uproar amongst followers... I do like the Hulk’s color scheme better but do agree with you preferring the more elegant case design of the older models, such as the Kermit model. Keep up the good work👍
The ultimate hype watch. You could get these for a discount at ADs prior to the craze. I prefer it to the Kermit, as I'm not a big fan of the Kermit green. Always remind yourself, would you really buy this watch if it was pretty easily available at ADs? The answer was no for a lot of people and then became yes when it became hard to get. People are buying Rolex models because they are hard to get, not necessarily because they love the actual watch. This hype has fueled more hype and thus AD displays are empty. I've handled almost every modern Rolex and it is laughable how much some sell for. At list, they are expensive but still fantastic watches. At the grey market prices, many models are punching way above their weight. I've got a 16710 and Milgauss Z-Blue. Plan on getting a JC to complete my trio. All 3 watches standout for the right reasons. 16710 is the pinnacle of the GMT in my opinion, the Milgauss Z-Blue is the most aesthetically ambitious and unique watch they have produced on a semi-mass scale, and the JC is a technological marvel with one of the greatest dials ever made. Bias aside, if the cyclops and size doesn't bother you the SD43 is probably the best watch Rolex produce today.
I'm looking to get my first watch(preferably automatic with the ability to handwind), and I'm struggling a little bit do to my minuscule 6.2 inch wrist, watches are just too big these days. 40mm+ just isn't gonna work for me. Do you have any suggestions in the 100-200$ range? Thanks, love your videos
Indeed, that is why you can buy from Watchbox and they ship worldwide. The one I reviewed is like new and from them. So you can purchase it anytime you desire! Thank you Vishal, excellent point. Best regards, TGV
Green is a color that either works or doesn't. The Seiko Alpinist was a combination that I really enjoyed. This one is very nice, just not up to rolex standard in my opinion. Still better than most watches out there though.
your right about it looking so much better than pictures, i was lucky enough to pick one up at a AD recently and cant take it off. The dial to me is more often black than green unless under direct light (which i love giving it an infrequent zing) but generally its relatively toned down with a subdued black face look, so for my wardrobe matching its not really an issue and or i just love the watch making a bit more of a fashion statement.
I must own this one day, as a Swiss stock market enthusiast I love green (see my avatar haha). At the moment I wear a green Certina DS action 44mm almost 200 grams, a beautiful and robust every day beater for a 10th of the price. It's symbol is a turtle which I associate with investing too, slow and steady wins the race:). And after this vid I want the hulk even more, thank you!
I love that green sunburst dial (and the bezel too). Did Rolex make a two tone version of this as well? I ask this because sometimes I like a touch of gold on my watch. Thanks Tristan.
Nice review, TGV. It's definitely a cool watch with a high marmite level. Personally I would take the safe route and opt for the standard black dial Submariner. Looking forward to the next one. Regards, Koen
Stunning dive watch...I always find my self attracted to it but not cashing at the end...I prefer black dial and bezel as well as light and relatively compact size time pieces!
The positives? Another stunning intro. The idea of a "reverse Kermit". The negatives? Yeah, not sure about the amount of green-ness. But there again, maybe I'm just jealous that I can't afford one.
Wow first review I heard where the bezel color is criticized. I was almost disappointed seeing it in person the first time. Dial absolutely stunning tho
Hello TGV, I'm wondering if the green color may have any connection with the classic Wimbledon tennis tournament. Rolex being the official timekeeper of the tournament since '78 and of course, the colors of green, white and purple are all represented in the tradition. The lawn green color representing the grass courts. The legendary Bjorn Borg, in fact, wore a '56 gold Oyster Perpetual Day Date with a green dial and black leather band. Just food for thought.
TGV, guys, do you know if the glass can be changed by Rolex for the one of the 114060? (the "no date") That's because I really don't like the magnifying. Thanks
I’ve got a Casio GShock GW-M5610 with negative display and while the display looks great in direct light, at certain angles and in darker conditions it is virtually unreadable without activating the backlight. I wonder if this model is the same?
Red Ferrari - Green Rolex. Icon of an icon. The golden clasp of a series which has given the Foundation so much. Who knows how much it will last avalaible...
Said it before I'm not really a fan of the Sub, and tbh the only Green watch I could be tempted by is an Alpinist. But as with everything what I and what others like and dislike is simply a matter of opinion, just as people's opinions on the greatest dive watch. Lovely watch, not for me, but for those who have it enjoy. Great video as always 👍
Diving watches looks their best with a black dial. And like you said, there's nothing like the LN sub. But when Rolex introduced the green LV, it was almost like a faux pas with a diving watch. But having done that this one is always there in most of the collectors. Prices have been slightly up on retail but a. 50% or more , hikee in the grey market. This shows that people want to get a hold of the 'Hulks'. And there are also rumours that this will only be produced for 10 years.
Thanks for the video Tristano 👍 ☘️“I close my eyes and picture the emerald of the sea, from the fishing boats at Dingle to the shores of Durnadee. I miss the river Shannon and the folks at Skibbereen, the moorlands and the midlands with their forty shades of green”!☘️ Johnny Cash 👌
I`m a big fan of W.Blake, as a writer as well as an artist. I can`t say the same about "The Hulk". England has the green and pleasant land, and Rolex Sub shall have a black dial. Great video!!
Hi TGV, when you say nothing comes close, the Tudor BB58 comes to mind. If you could possibly get your hands on one, I’d love a review from you as this watch is haunting me at the moment. So much so that my wallet lives in fear.
Duncan!!!!! :D Thats really interesting, I would not of expected you to like it, then again, I was not a fan until I saw it in the metal too! Your brother in law sounds cool, not as cool as you though ;-) Have a great weekend fratello, my best wished to her Ladyship Casey and Sir Winston too. Best regards, TGV
@@theurbangentry I didn't expect to either, but it has an addictive quality to it that photos just don't do justice to. I'm a sucker for a sunburst dial too, especially in that emerald green! Eh...he's pretty cool....I guess ;-) Haha! And you my brother, thank you! Same to you and yours! DJMC :-)

I absolutely cannot stand wearing green clothing but there is something about a green Sub that melts my heart. I honestly couldn’t make the choice between this and a black Sub.
Absolutely agree: a “no-go” for clothes or shoes but a green Watch is distinctive!
I love green. My favorite color in general. The dial is gorgeous. But I’ve always felt unconvinced by colored ceramic bezels. There’s something milky about the color, something off. The 116508 with the green dial.
I really like the design idea of black dial with green bezel. Well done!
Absolutely spot on review, the watch is a statement , do I like , well yes ,but I think I would plump for the kermit, crisp filming .🇬🇧
One of my top favor within my collection, looking at the color changing under different lighting is just mesmerizing and enjoyable.
In a world of Subs this is the one that stands out. It just has its own unique mercurial personality, that never gets boring.
I love it. A friend has just bought a new Rolex Air King. Any thoughts on that particular model TGV?
I don't mind the Hulk but like you pointed out the bezel is a bit flat, which is why I have always preferred the Kermit. The tone of green gives it a fresher look and its more to my taste. My favourite Sub is my 16610 😋
I prefer the Kermit, simply for the more modest case and I really like how the green contrasts the deep black dial.
I'm used to hearing Jerusalem more whilst watching the 6 Nations Rugby I must say, FYI hearing that sung around a packed stadium when England are playing is something special to behold.
I love my Hulk a lot.... of course not an everyday one-watch-wearer but for the right mood, dress, occasion, just fantastic!

I am a hulk person. I love green and I typically wear Grey, black, blue, brown, or green anyway so color coordinating isn't an issue.
Wow wow wow....the camera work and editing in the first minute is stupendous! Ok, now continuing to the rest of the video....
Not my cup of tea ... I'll take a vintage Root Beer GMT . My favorite Rolex .
Great vid but sad that it can’t be purchased at any of the AD’s anywhere in the world !
Indeed, that is why you can buy from Watchbox and they ship worldwide. The one I reviewed is like new and from them.
So you can purchase it anytime you desire!
Thank you Vishal, excellent point.
Best regards,
TGV
Green is a color that either works or doesn't. The Seiko Alpinist was a combination that I really enjoyed. This one is very nice, just not up to rolex standard in my opinion. Still better than most watches out there though.
your right about it looking so much better than pictures, i was lucky enough to pick one up at a AD recently and cant take it off. The dial to me is more often black than green unless under direct light (which i love giving it an infrequent zing) but generally its relatively toned down with a subdued black face look, so for my wardrobe matching its not really an issue and or i just love the watch making a bit more of a fashion statement.
Hii.. Can you do a review of top 5 green dail divers?
I must own this one day, as a Swiss stock market enthusiast I love green (see my avatar haha). At the moment I wear a green Certina DS action 44mm almost 200 grams, a beautiful and robust every day beater for a 10th of the price. It's symbol is a turtle which I associate with investing too, slow and steady wins the race:). And after this vid I want the hulk even more, thank you!
I love that green sunburst dial (and the bezel too). Did Rolex make a two tone version of this as well? I ask this because sometimes I like a touch of gold on my watch. Thanks Tristan.
I like it! Never been a big Rolex fan and green is not my favorite watch color but together it works, might have a new grail.
Nice review, TGV. It's definitely a cool watch with a high marmite level. Personally I would take the safe route and opt for the standard black dial Submariner.
Looking forward to the next one.
Regards,
Koen
Stunning dive watch...I always find my self attracted to it but not cashing at the end...I prefer black dial and bezel as well as light and relatively compact size time pieces!
That bezel looks like candy. I have yet to see a ceramic green bezel as vibrant as this!
The wife said never a Rolex. Beautiful timepiece just the same!
You ask a woman for permission?
The positives? Another stunning intro. The idea of a "reverse Kermit". The negatives? Yeah, not sure about the amount of green-ness. But there again, maybe I'm just jealous that I can't afford one.
Wow first review I heard where the bezel color is criticized. I was almost disappointed seeing it in person the first time. Dial absolutely stunning tho
Great watch but there’s a faint whiff of the Dutch 17th century tulip craze in regards to the brand nowadays.
Yep agreed, and that really puts me off.
The maxi case is a massive no go for me! I love the previous case infinitely more!
It's called a super case a maxi dial. I guess you've never seen one in person. Wears small to me.
Derek Shearer I still don’t like the fat lugs at all and never will!
TGV, guys, do you know if the glass can be changed by Rolex for the one of the 114060? (the "no date") That's because I really don't like the magnifying. Thanks
What brand/model is the jacket you are wearing in this video?
I’ve got a Casio GShock GW-M5610 with negative display and while the display looks great in direct light, at certain angles and in darker conditions it is virtually unreadable without activating the backlight. I wonder if this model is the same?
Red Ferrari - Green Rolex. Icon of an icon. The golden clasp of a series which has given the Foundation so much. Who knows how much it will last avalaible...
My dad owns one. I get to wear it once in a while. And I love it. Beautiful watch. Wears well, rich color, great performance. A fantastic watch.
Not a big fan of the Hulk but love the Kermit ... reverse Kermit, whoa. You nailed it! Also love the Tudor on the black NATO.
It’s a fabulous piece, provided it is part of a collection. Couldn’t see it as one’s only watch. Great video
Exactly
Intro reminds me of that song by The Fall. RIP Mark E Smith!
"I want you" with the Inspiral Carpets possibly one of the best cuts of vinyl of its type? Cheers.Len UK.
He went crazy with the semiotics in this one, great job!
Last week Tudor was the perfect submariner. So what changed, or can't you make up your mind!
Similarly, while I think the dial is really well done (although maybe not something I'd wear), the bezel colour looks just a touch sickly!
Love it! Beautiful watch. My brother in law managed to find one at our local AD. In the metal I loved it! I would definitely have one at RRP.
Duncan!!!!! :D
Thats really interesting, I would not of expected you to like it, then again, I was not a fan until I saw it in the metal too!
Your brother in law sounds cool, not as cool as you though ;-)
Have a great weekend fratello, my best wished to her Ladyship Casey and Sir Winston too.
Best regards,
TGV
@@theurbangentry I didn't expect to either, but it has an addictive quality to it that photos just don't do justice to. I'm a sucker for a sunburst dial too, especially in that emerald green!
Eh...he's pretty cool....I guess ;-) Haha!
And you my brother, thank you! Same to you and yours!
DJMC :-)
