We have an early start with Oyster Farmers going to work at 4am ! We also wend the day in a truly fantastic location where a relatively deserted beach allows us to simply relax from a busy day. Earlier we discover another great D-Day story of herosim and tragedy in Sainte-Mere-Eglise where a MUST VISIT Airbourne museum tells the story of the American Paratroopers. One in particular John Steele had a terrifying escape as he dangled off the top of the church for 2 hours before being found and captured by the Germans who were shooting down paratroopers as they landed. A quick visit to Utah Beach before hunting out for what turned out to be another great coastal parkup.

Great time to watch this with the 80th Anniversary. John Steel story was very interesting. Love Andrew. Hope he makes it! Have never seen an oyster field. Thanks for taking us along. ❤😊👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Another great video and tour. A perfect time to watch as well as the old soldiers are heading back to France for the anniversary. Thanks both.
Thanks was watching today so few left o just hope society carries on remembering
Another great episode guys, we particularly loved the true story about John Steele, saw it in the movie but didn't know it was a real event👍
Thanks for watching - his story is fascinating and the fact he escaped and then was in the battle of the bulge is incredible
Another enthralling video guys. Like you, WW2 and WW1 are of great interest to me, perhaps because of family members serving in both. It was so interesting to see the Museum visit you made, they appear to be really thoughtfully put together. Somewhere I’d love to visit. Thanks again for taking us all along with you 👍
Thanks for watching - I think this and the Pegasus museum stands out plus the Ww1 at Fromelles are in our top5 if you get a chance
John Steele. Amazing!
Interesting place.
Thanks for sharing
Ju
😁
The fact he was there for two hours then gets captured and then escapes plus survives the war !!!!
Thanks for watching
Seeing Stew entering the museum in his shorts reminded me of Eric Morecambe back in the day 😅
Great vlogs!
Two pieces of cotton hanging lol I know exactly what you mean - my comedy favourites
Thanks for watching
Another interesting episode. We have never seen an oyster farm and now we want to visit those museums so thanks for sharing 🙂👍
Thanks for watching guys - I think you can go on tours around oyster farms to
Fascinating video, such brave men 😊
Indeed thanks for watching
Really interesting to learn about the oyster farming, I don’t think I could ever try one though 🤭 Love the little place you passed through before the supermarket, beautifully kept village with the flowers etc. Thanks, Em 💜
No I’m like you I will start gagging lol 😂
was just a shame the crickets made the same noise as the germans clearing the breech of their rifles but the scale of the drop was unprecedented the like of what will never be seen again the museums look awesome
Thanks for watching - I understand the breech rifle noise may not of been factual but a movie thing although I never found a definitive on that when I tried to research that statement
Interesting stuff though - thanks for watching
Looks great guys, thanks for the preview of the Airborne museum, I’m near Paris now but headed that way. Definitely be stopping now
Excellent I don’t think you will be disappointed
Remember seeing the sequence with the trapped parachute and also vaguely another scene where a US army guy used his clicker, got a response but, it turned out to be a German. 🤔🐕🚙
Yes that was the longest day film - the false clicker is disputed factually but either way a great film
Another great video guys! My husband and I both had dads that were in WW2. B 17 pilot and officer. We have talked about visiting Normandy for years…your videos are inspiring to me to stop talking about it and plan a trip!! Cheers and safe travels
If you get a chance do it as you won’t regret it the museum at Pegasus / Merville / Saint-Mere-Eglise are high on our list
Thanks for watching
You must do it ! It wont disappoint 😊 jane
What a lovely part of the world. Thanks for taking us with you. We're inspired to visit too! N&Nx

You will love it 😊 jane

My four grandchildren bought themselves crickets and drove me mad with them all the way home! Lovely video well done.
I’ve lost it lol 😂 it Jane has hid it
Thanks for watching
Hi guys.
We've followed you both for a while now and I haven't heard you talk about your particular interest in World War 2?
Were you in the Army yourself Stew?
Or a member of your family was involved, or just an interest in general?
We find it very interesting too.
Thanks in advance.
Steve n Debbie 😊👍💯
Hi - no it’s just something I am interested in and was brought up on war films so I find the whole history really interesting
And I love history full stop. I have always enjoyed WW2 history - but during this trip WW1 became of interest to me as well. Doing this trip has been on our tick list for the last 5 years of having Harry and we finally made it. It didnt disappoint ! Jane ☺️
@@getawaygeese Thanks for the update Stew 😊👍
@@getawaygeese Thanks Jane for your update too.
Keep up the good work. It's interesting just what our ancestors gave up for us to have a safe life.
Many with their lives.
Warmest Wishes to you both.
