Even when I was a strict vegan, I fed my cat MEAT. My vegan friends had some not so nice things to say about that, but I felt like it wasn't my place to make that choice for my fuzzy baby because... science. It absolutely seemed like cat abuse. I'm now a proud and healthy carnivore, just like my cat! 🐱 🥩

i am SO glad to hear that you fed your cat meat, even though you didn't eat it. The vegans I know feed their pets only veggies. They don't live long (6-7 yrs for small dogs) and tell me that is "normal". I just want to scream!!

I would love to hear you talking about people like me that at age of 70 years old, I am enjoying the best years of my life thanks to you. I eat 0 carb and absolutely no processed foods. I take no medication, I work 10 hour a day, I hike for pleasure every three days a week, and on and on…. And my mother is 94 and take no medication and she also on 0 carbs. So Dr Berry let’s talk about us, the old health ones thanks 🙏 to you.

I'm right there with you. I'm 71, carnivore for 257 days and now it's my choice of lifestyle eating. It's not a fad diet, it is my terrific way of life now until my forever comes. So, yep, Dr. Berry we are a huge growing number of extremely healthy septagenarians free of medications, pain and couch potato syndrome!! Haazah to us, the 70 and over carnivore babyboomer group .

@susansancrant249 From what I understand (from Dr. Berry) I would say 50 carbs per day would be max unless you have pre-diabetes or diabetes. If that's the case, lower your intake of carbs, sugar & sugar substitutes. I have peripheral neuropathy & pre-diabetes so I stick to a carnivore diet. Don't particularly love meat or fish but at least I can eat eggs, one of the few foods that I've found with zero carbs. I'm answering your comment since Dr. Berry rarely does. I've learned so much from him, he probably saved my life. Bless you. ❤

Absolutely. People in rice cultures could stay metabolically healthy in the past because they were often working hard outdoors and fasting, and anything that wasn't rice in their diet was probably very healthy. Rice was just cheap carbs to fulfill the demands of the day's labor. Nowadays the opposite is true.

I've had Rheumatoid Arthritis since I was 27 yrs old & I'm almost 47 now. The doctors put me on strong medications to prevent further damage for the last 19 years. Thirteen months ago, I decided to do Keto & IF to lose weight, get healthy & get off these medications. I've lost over 60lbs & feel younger. I'm wearing a size 10 jeans from size 18. I'm no longer taking Enbrel, Celebrex & other medications! I'm Dr. approved off all my RA & blood pressure prescriptions. My grandma had severe RA, joint damage & died from cancer. My mom died young at 64yrs old of congestive heart failure, obesity & being a type 2 diabetic. My dad died a month ago at 75yrs old from being a type 2 diabetic and he had several strokes. Both my Rheumatologist & PCP was thrilled with my lifestyle changes. Keep on Keto & IF for Life.

You described me 3:25. I am of Arab Indian descent I am a lean person who has eaten lots of rice and biriyani all my life. I did not get fat, but I am sure I had pre-diabetes from all those carbs. Thank God, I did not get sick at all, but I had aches and pains and was weak. Now that I am a carnivore I can feel amazing! I can clearly see carb was the culprit for me.
I think I did not get sick because I did not eat vegetables much. Only a few types of vegetables once in a while. I always had gut issues.

I agree with you Anton. I have been humiliated in public because I ate meat. At the University where I attended and worked at, there was a concert by a known vocal artist (in the 90's) and the woman who lived in a tree for two years to save the tree (I honor her for that). It was a set up for vegetarianism sermon. I whispered to a woman because I thought she maybe Native American, "What can I do in a Native American ceremony to do vegetarianism." She snapped at me outloud and the people on stage could hear and I got the evil look from them. I felt so humiliated that day. I thought the vegetarians are no better than us meat eaters spiritually. I have been working on letting go of the carb addiction I have struggled through out the years. I have lost 25-30 lbs in the last year. Thank you for posting this. You probably get harassed by well meaning gurus and people. ((hugs)) to you Anton.

Been on the Carnivore eating plan for 35 days now after being diagnosed with pre diabetes & high blood pressure and being over weight, I wanted to drop at least 15kg to get to a healthy weight.
Already 35 days into this lifestyle change & I feel so much better. My blood sugar had now dropped to a normal range, I’ve dropped a bunch of weight & my blood pressure has dropped to a normal range.
My sleep has improved a lot, I’m now not waking during the night & now getting a good solid 7 to 8 hours sleep with no interruptions.
I initially was just trialing the carnivore diet for 30 days just to see how I reacted to this diet. But after the 30 days, I’ve seen such a dramatic change for the better in myself, that I’ve decided to continue with eating carnivore full time, this is now a lifestyle change that I’m going to continue for the rest of my life.

I still cant do it that way, but I mince it up really small with my ground beef. Before that I soak it in milk. You cant taste it! Anyone whos reading this, try it, you wont taste the liver. Its cheap too. I usually cook a kg at a time and mix about 150 -200 grams of liver into it.

This video is a couple of years old, but - it is Excellent, Dr. Berry. We are doing Keto/ almost Carnivore at times since summer of 2019. It took awhile to nail the diet, but little by little we are very satisfied with the good nutrition and good results of Low Carb/ Keto. You, Dr Berg, and Dr. Ekberg as well as Dr Jason Fung (plus a whole host of Down Under physicians Unwin , Fetke,...... phew never stops) are all family friends around our kitchen table. Hmmm. Westman, Diet Doctor, Beat Diabetes Dennis........
Basically we keep trying to find a video that equals a significant introduction to this new lifestyle. This may be the one!!! Much gratitude from Michigan.

    Good evening,
I have been told I have familial high cholesterol. My doc started me on atorvastatin, the side effects were horrendous. I was like a zombie. He told me to stop them and he would prescribe me a different type. I decided to educate myself about these and discovered they were withdrawn by Astrazenica because people were 'unexpected dying' from Rhabo!! I refused the statins and started the Keto diet 3 weeks ago. I feel the best I've felt in years and the weight is coming off! I'm in the UK and doctors here are pretty useless. They don't tell you anything, and if you ask questions the answers you get are vague. So I'll keep on with the Keto and insist they give me a printout of my results...and of course keep educating myself watching your videos. I'm 58 btw.😊

I used to believe that my traditional food were optimal for me until I saw an A1C of 7.9 a few years before. My endocrinologist ordered a CGM Libre freestyle for me. The results were alarming. After each meal my blood glucose were spiking over 200 to 300 mg/dL . My meals were mostly rice .vegetables , legumes, meat and eggs. On the CGM I set a target peak of 140 mg/dL on every meal. On continuing experimenting for a couple of months I have finally settled on veggies , meat , olive/ coconut oil and diary fats. Following a 2 meal a day. Any grains or tubers or legumes were sending my glucose very high. After almost 18 months now I am off all medications and the A1C is settled on 4.8. Much better sleep and BMI came down to 22 from about 27.

Doc what you say about "starving populations" is absolutely true. I have seen this the last 50 years living and working in Asia, Africa and Latin America. These thin populations subsist on rice or corn but in a day they eat less than what an average American eats in one meal. In fact many of them eat once a day and regularly miss days. THAT is the reason they are thin.

One solid meal by 4 pm (maybe 1-2 TBLd sweet potatoes or rice if fam is having it for dinner), beef, half avacado & maybe a salad with vinegar & oil. & if hungry for lunch will make eggs, half avacado & 1-2 TBl salsa for taste. Four quarts of water. A capful of apple cider vinegar with sweetleaf flavor. Water has been a game changer. Who knew? It’s the only change.

Charlotte Caretto Hey, congratulations and keep up the great work!
I started taking Zoloft in January, 2004 and it worked like a charm. Felt like my old self again. Well, three months ago I (finally) decided to try getting off of them.
After a ton of reading, here’s what I did: starting from 50mg per day I broke some in half and took 25mg daily for two weeks. Then broke some halves in half and took 12.5mg for two weeks. Then broke some of those in half (as best I could - they were getting pretty small by then) for two more weeks. All done, no problems or side effects.
I’m telling you this simply as my experience. I’m not recommending that you do this but maybe see how your doctor feels about it.
One more thing - I started on Zoloft for anxiety and panic attacks, not for depression. There may be (and probably is) an entirely different dynamic for someone with depression.
Anyway, that’s my two cents. Best of luck to you.

Throughout history, when you compare those who lived an agrarian life to those who lived an urban life, the agrarian folks lived longer, healthier lives than their urban counterparts. The family farmer/rancher lived on meat, vegetables and dairy that they produced. Meat and dairy (fats/proteins) where readily available for harvest and consumption year round. Vegetables (simple/complex carbohydrates) were only harvested one time per year (and hard to preserve long term until the advent of canning. Refined sugar/starch where not readily available and thing made with them were considered a treat and only consumed on occasion and in small quantities (the all things in moderation concept kicks in here).
This reality blows a giant hole in the modern "medical" concept of low fat/high carb diet for good health (which is, in reality, dietary slow suicide).
    Thanks Doc! Great discussion!

I am Japanese and never be overweight. But I was skinny fat and my body fat was up to 28% and even diagnosed gestational diabetic when I was pregnant. Everyone think I am healthy but I was sick. Now I do Carnivore and my body fat went down to 21%!!! I am so happy I found Carnivore-ish way of eating! Yes most Japanese are thin but skinny fat.

Thanks Dr. Berry for all your advice. We now know how to take our blood pressure correctly. I have cut out carbs and am eating lots of steak, eggs and bacon. I am a Patreon donor and subscribe to your channels. My question is, why are carbohydrates a problem for the US population that has high amounts of diabetes and not a problem for so many cultures around the world. People in Italy with them eating pasta daily and the Irish, back in the day with eating potatoes. Those nations never had a diabetes problem so what is causing this problem in the US. I know our food is terrible. It's all about the "Almighty Dollar". Thanks for your explanation.

I feel very lucky to have become aware of this and turning it around. IF and healthy keto. I haven’t gone full carnivore. I don’t love lots of meat. 😂 Little to no carbohydrate. Thank you for the education! An RN from Fort Worth, Texas.

Van Buren, AR. I'm 57 meno too. Been very low carb/carnivore for about a year but couldn't break 200lbs. Perhaps body healing from all the diets. I very foolishly started, over the past month, severely restricting portions and calories since scale wouldn't budge, even though inches lost, exercising during am fast too.
Listened to your wisdom again last Wednesday and began eating protein and fat until satisfied. Within 3 days already fat adapted, feeling full easier, sugar cravings down, more energy, and scale moving!

I know this is an older video, I just saw my dietician yesterday and she was all for a Ketovore or Carnivore diet (wherever I end up). She’s amended my labs to monitor my cholesterol properly. I had VSG surgery about 7 years ago and have struggled with carb addiction till I got off ultra processed foods in the last month. I just need to eat meat till I’m comfortably full. No macros or calories to count and if I want beef 99% of the time, she was fine with that too. I’m also coming off Ozempic slowly because it will allow me to eat a lil more and I don’t need it to control my sugar cravings anymore. It didn’t really do anything for weight loss on me, just stopped me eating a ton of icecream and chocolate 🍫 It was a weight maintenance drug. In Australia, we’re slowly making progress towards a proper human diet 😃

Started keto and now ketovore like Neisha! I've lost 42 pounds since July 19th 2020. Had hernia/abdominal wall surgery with full success and excellent recovery on 10/1/20. My mother died on August 3, 2019 from obesity and diabetes. That was my devastating moment. Took me a year of grieving and gaining a ton of weight to finally take control of my life. Thank you and your wife for being my inspiration ❤
