- We cross the border into SA through Mount Gambier and see all the amazing sites the town has to offer. After a short stay, we move onto the quiet beachside town of Southend SA. This place was magic! From the bush camp to the beach, the fishing options, walks and amazing sunsets which was topped off by a proposal!

Ha ha ha classic! If you go back to the early episodes you’ll see I travelled with Coco on my own through a few states so learnt very quickly to be a caravanner. Thanks for the engagement wishes too!! 🙏

Heard Milenco mirrors are the best to attach ,, but no idea if you could to your model vehicle successfully.
I have the MSA but have a D Max and a 2020 ,12ft back door poptop, it is wide but .

The reason all guides say “may be required” is because not all caravans are the same width. If the caravan is the same width or less than the towing vehicle, then no mirrors required, but most caravans in Australia are wider than the towing vehicle meaning mirrors are required. ADR 14/02 applies. Suggest you look at Milenco mirrors 😉
Yeah very interesting 🤔, We can see directly down the side of our caravan with the stock mirrors plus at the rear with the Safety Dave camera.

Umpherstone garden is amazing. So pretty. The blue lake is also something to see. Not sure if you passed the big purple servo on your way out of town “Endeavour” that is who I work for, you may have seen them around the Gippsland area.
lts amazing area. Yep we have seen a few around in the Foster area of Gippsland.
.....when the roads are greasy, but fly like an arrow when the road gets narrow!

I use Camec towing mirrors. They have adjustable rubber straps that hold the top & bottom clips in place really well. As for the mirror pushing back when a semi goes past, I have had that happen a couple of times. Luckily no damage was done.

Hello! Thanks for tuning in. Yeah I have to edit on the road to keep up with all the footage downloading and uploading videos every Monday night. At that Mt Gambier caravan park, we were on an unpowered site so I was using the inverter. We have a 3000w Kickass Inverter and 340amp Giant Lithium Battery. We have 4 x 190w solar panels on the roof so we've never been short of power. It's bulky to carry around but so much easier to edit compared to a laptop.
You should invest in a pair of Milenco mirrors.
Ive never had a problem with them
We've looked into Milenco mirrors. it's more to do with the Landcruiser mirrors folding in very easily.

Hi just found your channel and so far enjoying it. Saw you get pinged for your mirrors, when we got our first van I bought some mirrors similar to the ones you bought, they were useless. What surprised me when you were stop, which was fair enough because you didn’t have extended mirrors but I didn’t see the police checking exactly what you could see with your standard mirrors.
Hi Geoff thanks for tuning in and commenting. We agree with those mirrors are no good and dangerous. It was surprising they didn't check if we can see directly down the side of the van. We can see really well with our standard mirrors.
Guys put the mirrors under the Toyota mirrors use the straight section on the toyota to attach them to. Hopefully they want slide off or get milenco mirrors. If you can't get mirrors to fit the 300 their is no legislation that will exempt you from driving without them. Your insurance could be null and void if you have an accident and it was deemed due to not having correct visual down the van. I used to demonstrate towing mirrors at caravan shows, another thing, read the pbs for your insurance as it states that you must notify them of anything that they wouldn't reasonably know. Ie not complying with road rules. I reckon they will cancel your policy if told them as you are classed as unroadworthy. Just my two bobs worth but keep up the great videos..

Thanks you make some valid points. We've tried flipping the mirrors unfortunately it doesn't work. not to mention they still fold in on the door into a headwind.
Great video again yes SA has some of the best coastlines in the world I think but could be because I live here ! If you receive a fine for the mirrors, I would challenge it. Ultimately you may need to go to court but you look to be on solid ground. “May need” is hardly compulsory.

Similar situation re mirrors. I have a Range Rover Sport. Have lost two sets of useless clip on mirrors. Camera works great except in rain.

please do your own research on the extension mirrors as the info for Sa was mmm slightly incorrect and the police in SA will have a VERY different view

Bad luck with those mirrors. In about 30 years of towing, mostly with Landcruisers, I’ve never once had a towing mirror fall off or blow in like that.

Cheers mate I've heard a lot of good things about Milenco mirrors. Nah MSA mirrors aren't available yet that's what we want to go with.

Gee Toyota have gone backwards with them mirrors its like their forgotten that cruisers tow big wide stuff around in Australia , telescopic mirrors the go now but gee to get a set made to suit that car if anybody makes them will cost the earth , mabe fit old school truck mirrors on it 😬

There is no DEBATE 4:36 I can see why you got so many negative comments re the Police, you out and out lied to them about the Mirrors. That Van should not be on the road without adequate mirrors ever, not to protect yourselves but to Protect me and my family etc. As the Cop said he sat in your blind spot for many Km's and you were clueless he was there that is the reason to have them. This doesnt make you bad people in any way so no hatred should be directed by any people.
😂. it was pissing with rain you couldn't see behind you if you tried. Read up on vic roads legislation. Mirrors are not required if you can see directly down the side of your van. We clearly can. The coppers were great and did the right thing 👌.
