      @@AppSheetTraining I think it largely touched on the major areas of what people need done that AppSheet can do and it was balanced. For further videos that would engaging, I would include specific scenarios and incorporate that within app design. I would use Twitter if you already have a following to get suggestions on interesting sample scenarios that organizations go through. As a side note, I'm looking to build a CRM type of app to document results of client visits. Is it correct that the text field does not offer rich text natively and to get that, the user would have to type in html code?

    I have a question can I use a complicated spreadsheet as a data source for example our work invoices are done by paper using a form which was built using a spreadsheet. Issue is that it is not simple tables and columns etc and has a lot of text and other stuff which is irrelevant. Is there a way in which I can choose to only work within the the cells of this spreadsheet ignoring all the irrelevant stuff and export it filled in?

    Can Appsheet pre-fill our custom PDF workorder and send it to team members? Would this be done via an API/web hook?

    • @AppSheetTraining

      AppSheet has built-in document generation tools that will allow auto-populated PDF’s to be produced from actions in your app

    Hey Stefan, if AppSheet isn't a good option to build a SaaS platform, are there good no-code options that would be better if that's the end goal?

    I noticed AppSheet does not have a field data type for audio. Do you have to use file?

    • @AppSheetTraining

      That is correct. The File Type field can support generic file types.

    Thanks for this great explanation. Do you already know, when there will be a Appsheet Rest-API that I can automatically integrate into my Appscript workflow? (Like I can with sheets and slides)

    • @AppSheetTraining
      @AppSheetTraining  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure it's on their to do list but it would awesome. However you can still do a lot of fun stuff with AppScript using AppSheet API or the Sheet source. We plan on making some AppScript videos in the future. We've been using a lot of AppScript internally at AppSheetTraining/QREW.

    Quick question.
    I want to have my tabular kinda database in AppSheet. Make that database available to clients and send them weekly/monthly entries updated/uploaded into the database by my team into the database. Kinda a mini SaaS, but the only layer exposed to clients are the database, which they can export to a spreadsheet or CRM. Is this possible?

    • @hsetin
      @hsetin ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that is possible. If you have a defined data that need to shared with multiple users. You can add abutton, that can customize and push an email with the desired link (to drive/dropbox etc), or information (not attachments)

      Yeah, it exported the audio only in the left channel. So it only plays out of the left speaker, we've added it in to our video rendering checklist to confirm that's not the case in future videos! :)

    Hi Stefan,
    Suppose I have a key for the API of an ISBN database. What I would like is to inventorize my relatively small book collection at home, by simply scanning the ISBN barcode and letting the external source fill my fields (the usual: title, author, cover photo and year), instead of filling the fields myself. Is that possible? I assume it is, but I am completely illiterate when it comes to integrate an API in an Appsheet app. How strongly am I going to want to kill myself?

    I’ve been a user of Smartsheet for 10+ years and a no coder, the communication approach with this video needs review.
    You talk about no code required therefore you should angle you communication to No Coder understanding. Using references to coding scenarios, without visualisation, comes across as complex.
    This video is a prime example of communication from deep technical vocabulary, which is great, however a Non Coder viewer would still not understand the technical jargon - JSON files etc. The Non Coder I am, this video comes across as technical jargon overload with no visualisation to underpin the information.
    Strip it back, keep it simple, review in inherent technical knowledge of the viewer and “a picture communicates a 1000 words” come to mind.
    I appreciate your efforts, however this video does not help me understand the capabilities of Appsheet, just that a reasonable, to a lot, of time could be require to evaluate Appsheet for a business use.
    I hope this helps, happy to expand on my perspective if needed.
